They had to re-run a long mission because the rain didn't fall out, so they ran out of time for the PUMP mission at the end. Also, they got 2 touch penalties, so their final score for this round was 140 pts. This was the pre-qualifier, so they still have a lot of work to do before the actual Qualifier Tournament in January! - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

Yeah, that's the solution they came up with, and we all think it's hilarious. As you can see, it doesn't work every time, though. I will be encouraging them to solve this one differently if they can.

You can also get penalty's for working on your bot outside of base.

just today our ref gave us a penalty for it. Darn it!
Yes, if you touch the robot at all while any part of the robot is sticking outside of base, it's a touch penalty. Some judges may be more lenient than others, but if we are reading the rules right, you can't touch any part of the robot unless it is completely inside base.

The qualifier was held here in Tallahassee for the first time this year. (Technically, it was Monticello.) It was last weekend. Check some of the newer videos on my channel to see all the improvements we made!

What is a Pre-Qualifier?
It's basically a "practice" tournament. Our teams change so much every year, it's nice to be able to do a full tournament and get feedback on areas they need to work on before the actual qualifier tournament.
I have one tomorrow it’s pretty much just practice for what the real tournament will be like
