    Dennis - thanks so much for the awesome videos! I found videos of 4 of my classics (3500 baitrunner, 3000 stradic, AG 6501 and shimano 4000 rear drag) and accomplished the servicing without any issues. Mechanical is not my thing though you made it relatively easy for me. Thank you!

    Hello Dennis . . . Nice looking reel which you seem to be a favorite of yours,
    as soon as you removed the cover to expose the inside I thought to myself
    " OH MY GOD " it looked like the inside of a wrist watch with so many parts
    but you did a very good job of taking it apart / servicing it / then putting it a;;
    back together - good video !

    I’ve always wanted a 6500 but never got one. I’m still not great at using a bait runner as I’ve only done it a couple times with my Okuma Avenger. You always make these Shimano bait runners look so easy. Great job Dennis! - Chris. (Congrats on five years of videos! I must have been one of your first subscribers because as of April 19 I’ve been collecting vintage reels for five years.)

      @@2ndChanceTackle I can’t begin to express how much you and your channel means to me! It started me on a hobby that I never expected or had much previous interest. Even though it seems it gets a little out of control at times, I needed a hobby as I was retired. Thank you so very much for everything you have done to help and teach not only me but so many others! - Chris

    I have a 3500 Triton Baitrunner Plus. No felt washers. 1 white nylon and 2 black rubber like (with the metal spacers). It has the double drag with the fine tuning knob.
    Wouldn't I use grease? Or would I use the oil? My old faithful from the 80's! I love it. THANKS! Subscribed.

      I think your rubber washers are leather. You can use grease or oil to keep them flexible - Dennis

    Thanks for posting this video it gave me the confidence to open my failing reel and see what wrong. I’m looking for the Oscillating level wind gear, would you know where to find one. Mine has the pawl broken off. I believe it’s part number RD0841, maybe there are other comparable gears as well. Thanks for all the help with ur videos.

      Tha parts for this reel are going to be hard to find due to the age. You will need to find them on secondary markets like eBay or by purchasing a donor reel - Thanks for asking - Dennis

    Hi Dennis, I just bought this reel last weekend at a 2nd hand store. And the anti reverse doesn't work and the spool has kind of a wobble when reeling it in. I would love to send it to u to see if u could repair it. It's such a nice reel. I got it for 20 bucks. Mine is a 350 triton, freshwater.

      Please send a note to my email 2ndchancetackle@gmail.com for service and repair information. Sounds like something is not right under the rotor.

    Hi Dennis, I'm in Australia and have a BR3500 identical to what you have serviced in this video. It belonged to my late father, and when I went to clean it up to use it for the first time since his passing, I discovered that the anti reverse is not functioning at all. Upon disassembly, I discovered that the main anti reverse spring is missing entirely. All I can think is that the spring must have broken in half, and the two pieces worked there way out of the reel as Dad continued to use it.
    Anyhow, it should be a pretty simple repair just refitting a new spring, but looking around Ebay etc, I have not been able to locate one here in Australia and I was hoping you or one of your subscribers, could provide me with a source for a spring in the USA. Any assistance would be very much appreciated as the reel holds a great deal of sentimental value to me. TIA for your assistance, Kindest Regards Kim

      Is that part RD0595 in the schematic - link below? www.reelschematic.com/wp-content/uploads/schematics/Shimano/Baitrunner/SHIMANO%20BAITRUNNER%203500(91-42).pdf local eBay has a 3 pack but very expensive at $30 US.with shipping I will check other sites. Here is the eBay link www.ebay.com/itm/225865996897?epid=1052093830&itmmeta=01HR2DSM5Q3RDFAQPRSEQTPKMC&hash=item3496a99a61:g:sYIAAOSwVnBlTqoX&itmprp=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4NxHq%2B4NboGIe8G3RRIH70wjTNi%2B9FLkKkJztHM1mdNwzFIRoKFIFfKsiIr065Dj3ZB2y%2BbvZ7o3mwFtKwqbTKiDvEAY%2FkSa0Rg0IhBjEjNq%2F6dqRruKtVfN4h8TQE0BA0m1JhviENQtKN%2Bo3SSwYaCihfggyl37P6re%2FpdugwyUNC4%2FMIhGu4bSfs2rAvUT5qNy2rZVoQHINldgTHX1FLfUuwsdHsQlF0tfldm0lKXacT29NcrH4%2BLoielR03lItKNnPvPh0yeBSMYKAsUeAQaSeJwXJZpS976UFRApyeo%2F%7Ctkp%3ABFBM_MLmzcBj

    Hi, Dennis...any idea where I could find parts for the 3500B? I need the main and pinion gears and have had no luck tracking them down.

    • @2ndChanceTackle
      @2ndChanceTackle  ปีที่แล้ว

      That is going to be very difficult. There are no suppliers for NOW parts as the reel is very old. The only hope is to find a donor reel or one that has been parted out and sold through online sites like eBay.
