  • Long-term review of the Pixel 7 Pro. We'll walk through its best features, how it compares to the Google Pixel 7, the downsides we found using the 7 Pro, and finally our recommendation on who should pick one up and why you would go with the Pixel 7 Pro over the other phones that Google makes.
We'll also walk you through the camera system that really stands out on the Pixel 7 Pro, how the 7 Pro's camera system compares to the Pixel 7, how much Google has improved the video quality and how the system compares to the new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. We'll also walk through the battery life, performance of Tensor 2, screen quality, and some of our favorite Android features on this phone.

Nice job on the Pixel review after 6 months. I have the Pixel 7 pro and I would say the one thing that I'm not so happy with is the battery life. It's okay but for a phone this size with as big as of a battery it has. It's not great. The cameras the voice to text typing is great. The call screening and the call waiting recorder app. These are all they all work great. Use them all the time. That haptic feedback that's also great. I'm thinking or I'm hoping that the pixel 8 gives us much better battery life and standby time.

It is rare, in Mexico and Latin America the Pixels are highly appreciated, they do not have the problems that all the comments say they have, there is a good signal reception, the Wi-Fi works excellent, they do not overheat, the sound in the Bluetooth headphones and the speakers don't sound bad.
I have an iPhone 14 pro max and although I prefer this one I also use the pixel very frequently for my day to day life and have no complaints it's not a perfect phone although the battery life and charging sucks the heating in the cell It's normal, but man, I have the iPhone 14 pro max and it heats up just the same.
Regarding photographs, I much prefer the pixel, and in terms of shaped screens, the same as the pixel seems better to me, but Samsung is indeed superior in this section and also in sound.
I'm sorry if my English is lousy, I'm translating this through google.
      Greetings

Few days back I've sent my phone in there service centre for a replacement because it's under warranty but they rejected the replacement by saying that there's no hardware issue in my phone, and said that we've installed a new software in it.
And the moment i received back my phone,i was cleaning the display of my phone, again it got switched off.Better to opt for a different brand from now.

Not to mention I literally just bought this phone less than 5 months ago and the trade in value of this phone is literally nothing I get that a new model is out the 8 and the pro 8 but right after this model is the 7pro and I was literally offered 200 and one place offered me 22 dollars. How do you go from buying a 1100 dollar phone 5 months ago to it only being worth 200 or less. Also make sure you have a good case on your phone the first month I had mine I dropped mine and busted the screen from the inside and yes I had a screen protector and a phone case on it. This phone also turns off by itself in certain situations you can literally look up why does my Google Pixel 7 pro keep turning off and it's locked by Google and has no response and 400 plus people have the same question

So I've had the P7 for 8 months and I like a lot about it. The size is nice, the Tensor 2 SoC runs A13 fluidly and Google's implementation of Android IMO is the best there is. It's a lean smart Android OS and the added Pixel only features are nice. However, the onscreen Fingerprint Sensor and battery life are letdowns. I'm lucky if I get ~70% accuracy with the Fingerprint sensor and yeah there's a limited facial recognition but it's nothing compared to Apple's Face ID so I usually stick with the frustrating fingerprint sensor. Then there's the battery life. After 8 most this allegedly smart phone knows my usage patterns and I've tried all kinds of options to enhance battery life including turning off 90hz display. All Bupkis. I barely get 5 hrs SoT with this phone and it's left me hanging plenty of days. Google is new to SoC designing and it's painfully apparent they haven't mastered battery optimization for their Tensor 2 SoC like Apple has for their Bionic series of chips. Those two critical weaknesses keep me from loving this phone.

i think some games can really mess up with Pixel 7 Pro's performance...such as The Spike which is a volleyball match game...at times when i exit the game...the icons and fonts on my Pixel would have their fonts reduced by half...other times the screen would just not respond while i could still receive updates in the background but i couldn't do anything at all...i couldn't turn off the screen or restart normally...force restarting it works though but im worried it would have affect the long term performance...i also sometimes get this white blinking streak when the screen is turned off...

My experience after 6 months. The Pixel 7 pro suffers from weird Bluetooth bugs. One of them being that it will not connect to previously connected headphones even after rebooting both phone and headphones. The second the sound quality sometimes just chages and is very bad for no reason. A reboot fixes this.
My pixel 7pro also suffers from poor performance like screen will not rotate back to portrait from landscape. Sometimes sound just keeps playing after closing TH-cam?? Or sometimes a webpage freezes and you cant do anything but hit the power button.
The " stereo sound" is louder from the spearkers at the bottom vs the earpiece speaker.
Picture quality also seems to be a little inconsistent. Sometimes pictures are just my boggling amazing and sometimes they are just embarrassingly bad.
Reception on the pixel 7 pro is another issue. Its just not good and for 2023 that should not be.
I don't mean to sound negative but I'm just keeping it real. I probably wouldn't recommend this phone. For a lower cost phone I would say One plus and for a flagship probably Samsung.
    Update 07/02/23:
The Pixel 7 pro still suffers from Bluetooth connectivity and just any connectivity. It's really frustrating to even pretend that this is a good phone. Last update there's a new battery drain feature and no you can't turn it off. Honestly the only cool -ish feature is the cinematic wallpaper effect. Not sure how well it works and how the battery drain would be.

This video was a joke. Who wants to pay for a smartphone in 2022-2023 and deal with bugs and cases where you constantly have to reboot the phone?!
It's insane to think he justified some of those issues like it were options and features you should expect.
Google has constantly been known for buggy phones so has LG and look what happened to them.
I like the Pixel but no way I'm paying for any phone that tortured me daily with bugs. Which may fix itself years later when it should have been released 😂

I have not had this experience at all. minor annoyances turned into major ones as this phone became unable to manage a simple transition from WiFi to mobile data. it was replaced under warranty only to have the same problem. I have issues with Bluetooth audio, the phone ignores settings, and one time the camera app straight up stopped working entirely. Google support is dumb founded and have resorted to just ignoring me and insisting that engineering is "still working on it" which they periodically chime in to update me. I'm planning on suing them and probably leaving Google Fi entirely over this. I own the 512gb p7pro, I have pixel pass, and Fi unlimited plus. I can't possibly give them more money every month.
this phone is a disaster for me, I 100% regret buying it to replace the s21 ultra I had zero problems with.

My biggest problem with this phone is the curved screen. Yes everything about this device is amazing (Still a bit butthurt about the glass build) the curved display makes it so difficult to find both a good case and screen protector.
I used to use cases from Poetic and Unicorn Beetle who make amazingly rugged and durable cases. However the screen's curve has forced them to work around that with lowered edges around the display that makes the exposure for drops much worse. Had the 6a for a bit and had both cases from each company and the level of durability between those the 7 Pro models is miles apart.
I'm really hoping that both the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro adopt a flat display this time around. I would have gone with a Pixel 7, but only the Pro model had a 512 GB model. (Which wouldn't be a problem if we had SD card slots Google)
However I am loving my 7 Pro despite feeling the weirdest sense to go elsewhere. (Mostly because of some weird midlife crisis I'm going through where I want to be as minimal as possible)

Totally agree. My biggest gripe with the current pixel lineup is it's physical design choices. Curved screens feel outdated and the glass back makes this flagship phone look like cheap plastic. Also the camera bar. What is that. Hoping they can adopt a better sleeker design soon and it'll be the perfect phone imo. It already has all the specs. Sadly im not impressed with this video. Trying to convince people that the pixels bugs and shortcomings are not bad but trying to justify it against the S23 (I'm not talking Ultra either) is ridiculous
I swear the reviewer kept trying to figure out ways to excuse Googles flaws as features. Like you should be fine later after an update or reset of your phone for a WiFi connection you paid for but aren't getting fully
I don't care how much you save, a smartphone should work flawless regardless of price point. Sure at $1000+ prices you better be spotless. But I guess at $400-500 less you should expect flaws and glitches constantly?!
You made excellent points for Google phone features and its influence on the camera and post picture editing support. I definitely don't think the Pixel is trash but you trying to convince anyone that the Pixel is way better than the Galaxy series is laughable imo
Look our two different views aside, i think this video was just a rant (just like mine here) and less about reality. I'm sure the sales numbers will definitely show whose considered better.
Mind you, better objectively because everyone has opinions about what features are critical on a phone or why.
Plus like for me, buggy phones is what Google is known for and has a history of it. Hence why I cannot see myself using it as my main driver

Overnight standby is about 1% per hour, double what the S23U loses. That def needs resolving, though charging overnight will save that 7% loss.
Battery life has improved over the six months. I currently get 11 hours SOT using as a satnav; on launch, only 9 hours, so >20% improvement.
Using "low-power mode", I can get 10-11 hours SOT on wifi doing my typical workflow (do not game). So if you are expecting a busy day and have no access to a charger, stick it in low-power mode. An added benefit is that it stops the phone from warming up.
The camera is improved. I was disappointed new, but now it is much more consistent.
Mine has not had any QC issues, but my Pixel 6 Pro had dead pixels, and my nephew's Pixel 6 keeps crashing, and a reset has not cured it. I am hoping the 7 series are more reliable.
The USP of the P7P is its price.

I will never buy a curved screen phone again. It cannot take a normal screen protector, so any drops will just kill the phone.

as someone who owns a pixel 7 pro for 2 months now, I must say that your review on the cameras is lacking ... clarity and objectivity. The portrait mode on the pixel is totally rubbish (subject separation sucks, the software is doing a massive over sharpening ruining most photos, etc.), in RAW mode the pics are still compressed, photo unblur doesn't have a real impact on the blurred pics,
    etc. etc. etc.

7 Pro Pros: Soft - google android have clean interface and many useful features. Goog main camera and google pictures app. Good warranty and update time , Ability to early update android. Cons: WEAK network connections ( mobile and wifi, internet and phone call are drops in good reception arias ) , Weak CPU, Heating problem, Weak battery, poor selfie camera, 3d screen, lack functionality compare to Samsung. This phone is not a flagman and should cost less 500$

1:54 - REALLY bad example from the Pixel 7 Pro. More detail, but look at the noise and artifacts in the top half. Yuck

Same here. Used to purchase contract phones all the time but just can't justify prices these days. Just out of contract this year and had a pixel 4a 5g. But now pay £12 non contract for everything I need so the pixel 7a is only £329 in UK so think I will buy it
