My take from the northern hemisphere (where it is summer now) the heating issues with this phone are extremely bad, probably due to the bespoke cheaper variant of the tensor g2. When it gets too hot it cuts off data, meaning I can't even do video calls outdoors for more than a few minutes. Also when I'm plugged into android auto and have a podcast going and google maps on the screen, the charge will stay the same or go down even when it's plugged into a type-c output that can push 15w normally. Still, the camera is good enough that I don't regret buying this phone.

@@modekLGC Personally, I think Google's Android is so much better than iOS. But it can be different for other people. I'm not super tied to Apple services like iMessage, Apple Music, Siri, Apple's smart home, or iOS-only apps, etc. I use more Google stuff (Gmail, TH-cam Music, Google Photos, etc). Fortunately, they are more open. So it doesn't really matter for me when switching between iOS and Android. It's all pretty seamless for me. Saying all that just to say that I like Pixel 7a the best. It's not perfect, but I like it the best. The only things that I miss are: a telephoto lens (I used it a lot), and iPhone 13 Pro's excellent battery life & excellent video recording quality. I disliked the 14 Pro.

This is why I’m not sure that will be good option change daily system but pixel is like a apple for android. Simple yet but difficult decision because i wanna avoid situation when i buy android phone and after few days I will back to the apple…
Having the Pixel 7 makes the 7a absolutely redundant. There is no point in grabbing it besides getting the extra year in updates. Pixel 7 right now is either offered at the same price as the 7a or cheaper. I understand that the 7a is newer but the 7 offers gorilla glass 6:01 Victus on front and back of the device along with faster wired and wireless charging. In a few months when the 7a drops in price as it should, we can come back to this discussion. As it stands right now as long as the Pixel 7 is offered beside the 7a, there's really no point in choosing the 7a.
Completely depends on what country you live in. Here in Sweden the normal 7 is well over €200 more than the 7a. The 7a is also bundled with a ton of data plans which gives you the phone for free if you sign up for 24 months etc. Not to forget it often comes bundled with the Pixel buds.
I have been using Pixel 7 agressively since it came out, it's in the sweet spot between Pixel 7a and Pixel 7 pro. Plus points - it has better battery, camera and screen brightness clarity which is better than 7a but worse than 7 pro. Still would say go for 7a over 7 or 7 pro if you wanna safe bang for your buck.
Pixel 7 outperforms the 7a in all categories. Except Battery and in Camera it's basically the same the better megapixel doesn't really mean anything nowadays. It takes photos as 12mp
I'm considering between 7a or Samsung a54 I'm not a big gamer using my phone for social media consumption but the battery life is important I can't decide 😔
Galaxy A54 is way better in any aspects but design and camera is for Pixel. Pixel needs lots of time for charging even though using original pixel adapter and cable. Pixel getting so hot even while doing simple tasks like web searching. Connection is awful both with sim and WiFi. Battery life is awful. Only thing I would go for Pixel is "brand" and great design alongside with camera quality
A54 has a much better display. The 7a has a very dim display. I nearly purchased the 7a until I had a tinker with it and saw it's meagre display. The 7a has better performance and is stronger in the camera department
@@marksouthwell2699 Photo's only seem to be slightly better on the Pixel. Video looks better on the A54 I think. And maybe the photo's are just as good by now after updates.
After using the Pixel 1, 2, 3, 4xl and 5 ... I will never buy another Pixel device again. I was so frustrated with their terrible customer service and hardware quality that I was going to buy an iPhone and be done with it. I decided to give Samsung once last try, my last Samsung device was the S3. I was floored. Samsung is the Apple of the Android world. Things work, the hardware is incredible and the software is not the TouchWiz of the past, OneUI is legitimately amazing. As a poweruser, this confluence of software + hardware is extremely difficult to find. I'll never be going back.
Doubt you'd notice the photo difference.battery usage is not amazing for either. I'm probably at sub 20% by the time I consider charging. Full charging is about 1hr and a half for near zero to 100% on a fast charger

What about the heating problem? Have you had problems with the phone getting hot? I sent my 7a back because it would get hot if I just replied to text or watch a video for more then 2 minutes. I also had signal problems with this phone. Wondering if you had the same
I went with the Google Pixel 7 over the Google Pixel 7a I was coming from a Google Pixel 6 and I wanted to get rid of my Google Pixel 6 while it was still worth some money I don't like to keep my Phones until they aren't worth much or until they can't be Updated anymore. I do also have the Google Pixel 7a and that's actually my Backup to my Google Pixel 7 and I also use my Google Pixel 7a for Android Beta Testing that way I don't have to use my Daily Phone for that kind of stuff.
This video seems a bit lost as the premise is that the 7a is cheaper than the 7 and you won't notice what G sacrificed, yet the 7 is only marginally more expensive than the 7a when both are on sale. In the UK the 7 was on sale for £444 down from £599 while the 7a was on sale for £400 down from £450, sometimes the 7a has been bundled with charger and case which makes it even cheaper but case is over priced and there are better ones out there.
how about the battery? everyone says it drains fast you can't end the day with one charge. also charge duration it's very long. otherwise it's a very good mobile at a very good price.
Yeah it is a slow recharge if u can't deal without ur phone for a couple of hours don't bother get the 8 instead I sent my 7a back I had a love hate relationship with it,, I'm going try the 8 as I'm a fan of the pixel line and the Google assistant integration
Bit confused by the 7a…some praise its capabilities while others slate its chip, (slow , overheating issues etc) even that its photos are not as good as previous pixels.
Nice review but it seems like there is a wide range of experiences with the battery. For me, its been absolute junk. I am a light user. No games, a few calls a day, no social media apps and I cant barely make it to dinner time. I have turned off virtually every setting that has been mentioned on the internet to save battery life and it still stinks. I have done all updates and have adaptive battery enabled and have notice zero improvement in the two months i have had the phone. Even when plugged into a USB charger in the car, if you run navigation it will maintain or actually lose battery. It won't even charge. It takes forever to charge even when plugged in by USB and wireless charging is almost pointless. Lastly, this phone overheats excessively. I was just on a trip out west where the average temperature was 85 and 90° and the phone was so hot I had to take a case off and I had no apps running other than the camera. I have a warrenty replacement coming from google and I am hoping I just got a deffective unit, but so far I would not recommend this phone to anyone that does more than a few phone calls a day. I am coming from the pixel 6a and loved that phone. I have never regretted a phone purchase more than the 7a.
My pixel 7 is heating like crazy , it gets warm just by sitting with nothing going on. And battery life is trash is idle drain is 9-10% with mobile data off
great review. keep up the excellent work. good to see australian reviewers. the 7a is clearly the phone to get over the 7 and 7+. being a plastic back is better than glass. whoever thought glass as the material on a utility such as a phone is an idiot.
Man, all your shots are so perfect! Congratulations on a very good job done! The only ugly shot is where you are talking to camera. Whats wrong with the background? and the light on yourself also. You almost did a masterpiece with all this perfection in composition and light, clean phone, clean nails, no overexposures, but that one shot spoils it all

@@amitsuju UK where I am, and US as far as I can tell. I think Motorola already have a good infrastructure for the Indian market specifically so that might be a reason. If it is a lot cheaper than the 7a over there then it's a decent phone to go for. I wouldn't say it's better than the 7a in all aspects though. It's less powerful (not weak, but not as powerful as the Tensor G2), the camera isn't as good, it has slower RAM, it uses slightly worse glass on the front, and you miss out on the Google AI features. I realy hope they get the future Samsung based chips a lot cooler. My Pixel 6 is just so annyoing in the summer. Exynos just sucks, with the modem as well. My 6 get's easy over 35°C just having the display on with 27°C room temperature. Charging and using it at the same time? 44°C - that almost hurt you holding it and can only be bad for the battery. Samsung would really need to 180 that. (i'm really sad that they will have their Exyflops in the next S 2x here in Europe again...)
Wow, look at the size of those bezels! The charging time is so lame, too. Google shold put in the effort to make better phones, not focus only on the camera.
What is it with Google and bezels. They've been so weird since the 3XL with only the 5 being normal. Apparently P8 series is also going to have a chin again too lmao

Personally came from iPhone 13 Pro. 7a felt stable, fluid, and in general I experience better battery life as well. The only downside is gaming performance. Buy iPhone Pro models starts at $1000, so really I couldn't justify the price given how good 7a is.
Better battery life with the 7a? I currently have a 13 Pro and I'm looking to switch to the 7a and I find that hard to believe. I get 2 days of battery on my 13 pro cause I'm a light user

@@neilsesl Because I have a mental problem 😂😭😅 No, I just get bored, I guess. And I want to experience different/new techs.
@@NizarNoor thanks for you comment :) well I am a Apple user since 2011 from iPhone 4, last year I bought MacBook Air m1 chip because eco system.
All the negative comments from actual people about the battery, display and overheating prevented me from buying it.
Yes
0:52 Love the snowy wallpaper though! Where can I get that?
Your video quality is amazing, great visual experience!! Love your content :)
@@seya_2 not really the 7 will also outperform the 7a in camera in bad lighting conditions especially video
@@giorgitatarashvili3875 thank you so much for your advice I'm goin to have a new contract tomorrow so your helps a lot thank you I will get a54 ☺️
@@giorgitatarashvili3875 Galaxy A54 is no better lots of issues with it
A54 has a much better display.
As far as the camera is concerned is it as Good as the Pixel 8?
Asking because I am trying to choose between the two
After using the Pixel 1, 2, 3, 4xl and 5 ...
Hello, what kind of wallpaper do you have in there? can you maybe link that?
just got a 7A not much of a cell person. try to use the keyboard but the keys are so small takes many tries and 20 minutes to enter my email address.
Where do i get these wallpapers? Punch hole fun wallpapers? Please share links. Thanks.
Hey Sam I was just wondering is Pallete broken as nothing is loading for me?
What about the 7 pro ? Should I get it or the 7a ? Photos is basically all I care about and enough battery to get through the day
Doubt you'd notice the photo difference.battery usage is not amazing for either. I'm probably at sub 20% by the time I consider charging. Full charging is about 1hr and a half for near zero to 100% on a fast charger
Does it have heating issue like 6a
glad to hear its not just my 6a. it gets quite warm when Im out in the Dallas heat.
@@valghyna7668 all the pixel 6 series have heating issues because of the tensor chip
Yes but I think he lives in a area with colder temperature so he didn't noticed it much
@@sawyiier4870 thanks to beeing based on Samsungs Exyflop and it's processing tech 😢 - my 6 is overheating here in the summer again. I actually have a small fan directed on it when it's charging to keep it below 40°C! (room temp 27°C, 35°C+ when it's just laying on the counter with mobile network active... 😮💨
Yh you might be right
Is it getting hotter?
+1
What about the heating problem? Have you had problems with the phone getting hot? I sent my 7a back because it would get hot if I just replied to text or watch a video for more then 2 minutes. I also had signal problems with this phone. Wondering if you had the same
Same. Pixel is a joke, waste of money. Getting so hot, battery is awful, connection problems with sim and WiFi, only good thing is design and canera
Regarding your ad.. my $200 Garmin Instinct lasts me 2 weeks on a charge. Not everyone falls for the Apple gimmick haha
I an really confused between s23 and pixel 7.
Someone who had reviewed and used both of these pls make a comparison it would be great buddy.
What about the heating issues?
Will you be reviewing the Nothing phone 2
Yep!
I am confused which one to buy.. 7/7a/7pro!!?
If you've got the money, go for the 7 Pro!
How does it fair agaunst s23 that you reviewed
Idk how u got to 500k subs with this tech knowledge
💀
Nothing phone 2 video ?
how about the battery? everyone says it drains fast you can't end the day with one charge. also charge duration it's very long. otherwise it's a very good mobile at a very good price.
Mine lasts a full day without issues with normal usage. No heating issues either.
How are the temperatures?
Who touches the back of the phone as we all add covers to avoid them being ewaste if dropped or scratched
Picked up the 7a for 374 this year. Great price and awesome phone!
Incrediblely heats up good👍🏼
What about thermal heating issue?
And battery life is trash is idle drain is 9-10% with mobile data off
great review. keep up the excellent work. good to see australian reviewers. the 7a is clearly the phone to get over the 7 and 7+. being a plastic back is better than glass. whoever thought glass as the material on a utility such as a phone is an idiot.
in my country pixel 7 is only 30$ more than pixel 7a.
At that price there's no reason to choose the 7a
What's the charging speed ? One has to buy a charging brick separately!
I've just bought a propriatory Pixel charger for my 7a, that charges at a decent 30 watts.
I just got the 7 on ebay for 190 pl tx and I got the 7a for 208 plus tx. Both great phones. I laugh at these $1000 flagship phones.
anyone know where the wallpapers shown in this video are from?
Man, all your shots are so perfect! Congratulations on a very good job done! The only ugly shot is where you are talking to camera. Whats wrong with the background? and the light on yourself also. You almost did a masterpiece with all this perfection in composition and light, clean phone, clean nails, no overexposures, but that one shot spoils it all
The 8a is due soon.
U know what has big bezels? They iphone se 2 and 3.
Again deliverintg some of the most satisfying & beautiful visuals! Great video 😃
i got this phone a month after it came out and i didnt even know it was new until like a week ago
so it defo didnt have a bad start imo i mean i didnt even notice any new bugs or performance things
I feel moto edge 40 is better in all aspects vs pixel 7a and cheaper (camera will be the only exception, obviously).
. . . . it's not cheaper than the 7a.
@@wyterabitt2149 which country dude? In India it is lot cheaper than 7a
@@amitsuju UK where I am, and US as far as I can tell.
But it does have it's own advantages as well. Screen has slightly higher refresh rate, slightly better IP rating, much faster wired and wireless charging, and a bit better battery life.
@@wyterabitt2149 actually Google phones sell at a premium in India and not other way round for moto.
Google charges almost 1.5 times to 2 times for their phones in India.
Moto horrible android updates made me away from them.
However moto edge 40 is close to pixel in terms of software experience, especially the ready to share function
Ever since I own the Pixel 7 it's been a good experience.
The standby time on mobile network is also bad thanks to Samsung based tech... really annyoing. For me I do not see me buying a device with such processers in the future. Samsung would really need to 180 that. (i'm really sad that they will have their Exyflops in the next S 2x here in Europe again...)
Moto edge 40 vs pixel 7 pro comparison
Pixel and shit battery life is just match made from heaven. Thanks god I stick with my 5a!
Wow, look at the size of those bezels! The charging time is so lame, too. Google shold put in the effort to make better phones, not focus only on the camera.
I have an ultra-wide monitor. and this resolution was really a bliss after all the black bars. so, thank you for shooting the video like this.
Biggest Problems ist with this Google Pixel , Samsung phones they Charge too slow WE are in 2023 and they doenst Support 67watt Like Xiaomi or Honor
Very nice video, color, clarity and solid audio 🌟🌟🌟 new subscriber here.
bro just to correct you , pixel 7a have larger camera sensors than regular 7
I have this device, its a piece of trash fr. It heats up faster than my Nothing 2. Also it starts lagging and camera automatically freezes
Samsung user here, looking bcuz samsung makes big phones now
Now its $375 for black friday
Your wallpaper is looking awesome can you share me link
What is it with Google and bezels. They've been so weird since the 3XL with only the 5 being normal.
Apparently P8 series is also going to have a chin again too lmao
The Pixel 7 is substantially cheaper lately. It's all about the price, and at $450 this can't compete when Pixel 7 is $430.
When you’re done stabbing the Viking, I’d say “it’s a fantastic review “
If it was at the least 256GB then I would say yes, but unfortunately no, especially for photos and videos. Not enough memory.
Very worst battery bro over heating bro I don't know what to do
The 7a DOES have better cameras than the 7 despite the sensor being smaller
Not because its 64mp but because they are sony sensors
I have a 7a and it sucks, fingerprint reader sucks, doesn't open, no face reader. I don't care how good the rest of a phone is, if I can't get it open, it's chit. Got an 8, fp reader much better & has facial rec opening. Folks skip the 7a don't listen to this dude.
That's just your experience bud
@@craig__07 You could not be more wrong, 100% of the reviews on 7/7a mention poor fingerprint reading. :)
Is it really a wireless charger when the charger itself needs a wire? 😂 Either way your using a wire
I get great battery life. Average user. End the day at 70,,,,%
i dont have a pixel phone but i want pixel theme which launcher is good
Personally came from iPhone 13 Pro.
No way this video was shot with Sony a 7s II ^^
It's not incredible, it's just average. Even the cameras aren't anything extraordinary anymore. The screen isn't bright even indoors and I miss how easy it was to multitask on One UI. It's my worst buying decision in years.
