Agreed. It's still a 'Live' favourite at their concerts, even now after all these years and always gets a great response from the audience. Mark is quite rightly very proud of it to this day. It's criminal that this classic single only got to No18 in the UK charts, as it definitely deserved to go Top Five.
All Level 42 songs remind me of my mother who passed away 17 years ago. Good memories sitting in thz car with her and a recorded cassette playing all these songs. Never will I forget her. Have a nice day, life's too short!
Sorry to hear about your loss! I also lost my lovely Mum to the dreadful 'Alzheimer's Disease' last December at the age of 85! She also loved 'Level 42', particularly their 1983 album 'Standing In The Light'. I really miss her terribly. As you said, life is too short.
I love this group, and have since the release of World Machine. My favorite from them is their first album, "Level 42." The song "Love Games" reminds me of a friend I lost, because it was playing when I found out about it. The whole album is so good, if you have not ever listened to it, check it out.
Bless you.. I lost my mum 3months ago, my dad eight months ago. Pink and Peach.. My girls all in the last eight months.. My mom didn't used to listen to Level 42 but my older bro brought me into the level 42 world when I was little 7+ age.. My fav band of all time 😊
The best voices that a group has ever had, the best musicians, bassist, and keyboard player in a group that made the best musical rhythms that any current group can't even reach. The 80's the best music.
This is one their best (and certainly one of their funkiest) singles from the 80s. An evergreen classic. It brings back great memories of the era! I love it.
There are plenty more 'Level 42' videos that have been uploaded for you to enjoy on TH-cam, as well as lots of TV appearances and 'Live' concert footage from every era (and line-up) of the band. Enjoy.

One of the bands I've seen most in my life - they are awesome live. I remember them playing this for the first time at a gig before it was released, asking what the audience thought of it. We went wild!!! Leaving Me Know is my favourite of their's but RSR need to check out some of their faster funkier tracks like 'Hot Water'. Great reaction, thank you!

WOW!! Thanks for the response - I never expected anyone would reply back to what I had written!! I LOVE the fact that you played in a band with someone named 'Gaynor' - that is incredible!!! Stay in touch sweetie, don't want to lose contact with you
Had this in my head today and it has been in there somewhere for the past 22 years. Had to search for it to listen to that seriously groovy bad ass slap bass. I used to listen to these guys when i was 7. Love this tune still.

to me he is still the best bass player in the world and I don't think there will be another one like him
I'd say that Victor Wooten is maybe just as good as him.
@@luckyunknown4720 + Johm Taylor-Obviously from Duran Duran
i agree but i like victor wooten, louis johnson, and john taylor too
Jaco Pastorious, Stanley Clarke, Percy Jones, far far better than Mark King.
Dont forget about Mick Karn also, King and Karn together, now that would have been something to have seen
Mark King man, you can’t beat him!! ✌️☺️
One of my favorite
What bass player ,one of the best ever , no question.
Bought this one when it was released. Legit banger.

Its been 30 years since they left the band, but I still miss the Gould brothers. This songis one of my faves
one of Gould brothers died
the one on guitar
Over the top groove material- infectious beat.
It's a funk train from start to finish, chuggin chuggin chuggin along
wow so groovy. ill be tapping on stuff the rest of the day!
Mark King's beastly bass.
and finally we get the Level 42 VEVO :)
Funny to hear the song again at its original tempo, as a drummer it’s a great song to play to.

Mark King is truly one of the best bass players I know, maybe besides Stanley Clarke or Jaco Pistorius
Agree 100% - three of the tightest bass players since the beginning of slapping.
Jason Blundell you forgot Marcus Miller
You forgot to mention the late great Bernard Edwards
and Paul McCartney has always been under-rated
Bootsy Collins, Nile Rodgers and all the brothers on the bass that originated funk-music...........you forgot those ???? hahahah !!!
Tell me something
Why do I always find it hard
Just to get along
Try my best for nothing
Every little thing I do is wrong
Feel it in my brain
Driving me insane
'Round and 'round
The same old tune
Daddy's on the phone
You know you're not alone
Turn that down
And clean up your room
Sons and daughters
(Don't fall in)
In hot water
Sons and daughters
(They don't do)
What they oughta
Tell (tell) you something (what?)
Music is the key to set me free
To the beat (on the street) I'm jumping
Forgetting all the things they said 'bout me
Here it comes again
Chugging like a train
'Round and 'round
An impeccable groove
I know it's getting late
But I won't hesitate
Can't slow down
Got to do what I do
Sons and daughters
(Always in)
In hot water
Wasting time
Is a crime in their eyes
I'm still young
So much time to decide what to do
I don't need confirmation
For my boyhood extrapolation
Though I'm not sure of my direction
I have the groove for my protection
Here it comes again
Chugging like a train
'Round and 'round
An impeccable groove
I know it's getting late
But I won't hesitate
Can't slow down
Got to do what I do
What I do
Sons and daughters
(Don't fall in)
In hot water
(When they fall by the way)
Sons and daughters
(They don't do)
What they oughta
Sons and daughters
(Don't fall in)
In hot water
(When they fall by the way)
Sons and daughters
(They don't do)
What they oughta
Sons and daughters
(Don't fall in)
In hot water
(When they fall by the way)
