@@infinite_ammo For a '87 song the sound production is very well done. It does sound fresh, not new. Imo it sounds as if it's from the late 90s. If you listen to music released around the same time and similar genre you'll hear the difference/how 'clean' this track is. The use of below par reverb and or compression was unfortunately used on many a good song.

This IS music, to dance, to enjoy, to listen, beautiful music. Generation X has lived the best part of music I think because we have danced to the influence of disco music, rock, pop and even reggae, we saw black and white tv and now we stare at a flat screen!! we have gone through it all!!! And having this beautiful videos that remind us a time of no cell phones, no internet but hand written letters and events were relationship were genuine because we met face to face, we spoke with each other.....God that need to come back somehow!!

As I am approaching my own level 42 in less than a week, I have been listening to lots of Level 42. Definitely an underrated band, for some reason they are rarely mentioned among the great synthpop/new wave bands of their era.

Good man
I'm not proud, I was wrong
And the truth is hard to take
I felt sure we had enough
But our love went overboard
Lifeboat lies lost at sea
I've been trying to reach your shore
Waves of doubt keep drowning me
All the dreams that we were building
We never fulfilled them
Could be better, should be better
For lessons in love
For restless eyes egos burn
And the mold is hard to break
Now we've waded in too deep
And love is overboard
Heavy hearts token words
All the hopes I ever had
Fade like footprints in the sand
All the homes that we were building
We never lived in
Could be better, should be better
Lessons in love
If we lose the time before us
The future will ignore us
We should use it, we could use it, yeah
Lessons in love
Lost without love
Lessons in love
When will you ever learn
Lessons in love
When there's nowhere left to turn
Lessons in love
Don't let your spirit burn
Lessons in love
I'll wait 'till you return
All the dreams that we were building
We never lived them
We could lose it, we should use it
(Lessons in love) lessons in love
All the homes that we were building
We never lived in
Could be better (could be better), should be better
Lessons in love

There's no talent that's why. Auto tune for one has enabled anyone with no vocal capabilities to be able to attempt to create 'music'
Well said!
@@174trek I wonder if young people even know how truly poor their music is today.

One of my favourite songs from the 80's. This song is a timeless classic! Love it!!!
God dam I'm getting old, when I was a kid I always thought the lead singer looked like an old man now he looks like a kid.
The truth is hard to take
That's a real spirit of 80's. Such a nostalgy...

Julio Luperdi to darn right. The 80's had some outstanding stuff. This being one of them.

this record came out the summer of 86.. i was banged up in youth custody for driving on a ban.. luckily i had a radio and this song all ways made me smile.

One of the best songs in the history of music.
This is not just an 80's band: this is among the elite of that decade !
Agree. Level 42 and the Thompson twins were my favourite 80s bands.
True Talent ❤️
This IS music, to dance, to enjoy, to listen, beautiful music. Generation X has lived the best part of music I think because we have danced to the influence of disco music, rock, pop and even reggae, we saw black and white tv and now we stare at a flat screen!! we have gone through it all!!! And having this beautiful videos that remind us a time of no cell phones, no internet but hand written letters and events were relationship were genuine because we met face to face, we spoke with each other.....God that need to come back somehow!!
Mark King... got to be one of the very best bass guitarists ever... just my opinion of course!
You are absolutely right there. This "King" has taken Bass to a new level. You know a Mark King Bass when you hear it....
Me listening this marvellous song in August 2023 . massimo

The Greatest Hits of the 80's🩷
.... Level 42 one of my favorite New Wave Band🍀🍀🫰
Level 42 is a fusion jazz band like Shakatak 😊
As I am approaching my own level 42 in less than a week, I have been listening to lots of Level 42. Definitely an underrated band, for some reason they are rarely mentioned among the great synthpop/new wave bands of their era.
Me too, one week from today.
That’s nothing! I was 49 the other day!
All the songs that they were building
63 remanising
Level 42 are one of the greatest bands of ALL TIME!
And they are not in the rock and roll H.O.F.
Level 42 never recorded a bad track, that's how good they were. Class is permanent, they prove that fact
80s music was AWESOME beyond words now 58 years young..
Loving this music still now July 2023 it's magical and takes your Breath away..❤🎉❤
Like some of the wonderful comments below, I also have very fond memories of this song as a child. Melodically; I was spoiled rotten. Great music never grows old. I hope you all have a great 2019.
best wishes for 2020
my mom had a CD she always played in the car when I was in middle School and this was the first song it played. I didn't know what it said because at the time, I didn't know English but damn how did I love it, she and my little sister would sometimes sing along and I would just enjoy the ride. they were the easier times... I miss them, and I miss her.

Foi mesmo a melhor época pra tudo
Level 42 everyone of you never will imagine how this song was frecuently broadcasted at the FM radio stations in Venezuela in the 80s!
*No estoy orgulloso, me equivoqué
He estado tratando de llegar a tu orilla
