Of all their brilliant songs, this one song stands out as a very rare gem, it somehow captures their unique blend of pin sharp funky instrumentals that works perfectly with the dreamy melody and lyrics. Not so typical of the genre and period, with many songs laced with sleaze and corny macho attitude headlining the charts. The early Level 42 were much more than Mark King thumping out typical bass signatures, more than the typical Brit Jazz funk riff going over the top. They were a cracking band of master craftsmen until their snap and crackle got very soggy after drinking too much commercial pop.

Memories from the British Funksters.80s Shakedown. 🎼🎶🎵💎👏🏿
I hear alittle Michael Jackson and Earth wind and fire influences in this song. This my first time hearing this song. Damn I slept on level 42. They got some great songs!
great band, excellent bassist in mark king.
I absolutely love the musicality of Level 42's debut album. Easily one of the best albums that came out in 1981! Fun fact: Mike Lindup's father was David Lindup, a well known composer of library music.
grew up with this song.. just brill :)
when I first heard this song i was a kid maybe 8 years old and I was instantly in love
watergoddess9 I was 16, they were days of joy, wonder and discovery and this song just captured the spirit of the times so perfectly.
floppybollox3 I felt the same way, it was a magical time and this song did capture that. Every time I listen to it, it brings me back :)
Wow, you were a puppy with a good taste in music
I was 7 years old when this song came out.
I was 17 when I brought this song, Incognitos Sunburn and Southern Freeeze to the upper school disco, the 6th formers had never heard anything like it. Certainly helped them to realise there were other things going on other than Iron Maiden, Rush and Rainbow on the heavy rock front 😂
late april of '81' this song was rockin all late night disco's &-n- beaches on the sands with our boom boxes afterwards on the same day !! .... to the starrrrrrrrr's !! , piano going off .
fourcups123 that mean this song is 38 years olds. Sounds like 1 year old

I totally agree!!!
This is the song that made me a life long 42 fan, brilliant, love it, but so many excellent tracks over the years can’t pick a favourite 🤓👍🏼 hope the boys keep touring, I’ll b there
LOVE GAMES FOR ME
The versatility of this band with two very capable lead vocalists.
Thes One sent me. Dope.
This joint was, is and will always be 🔥🔥🔥 Every time I listen to this gem, I'm transported! I close my eyes and I'm transported to the first time I heard this at a block party in East Harlem -106th and 2nd ave (I believe) or any NYC club in the early 80's. Wow just wow!
One of my MOSTEST FAVORARITITIST BANDS!!
My favourite L42 track..the middle section where it starts slow and builds up..then..the bam bam bam..then the bass 🎸🎸still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up! Come back to Glasgow soon guys!
The second song I came across from Level 42 that hooked as a fan!!! Stan.
One of my favorite Level 42 tracks. and this mix is great. never heard it before today. Thanks for the upload!!
I remember this song when I was 11, but I lost the name, until it came on isoul radio and I used Shazam to identify the song. I love it.
One of my 80s CLASSICS. I use to just play this song in 98 when I wake up in the mornings.
The best album by Level 42, without a doubt.
This along side Accidents.

They are playing in the Royal Albert Hall this evening. Just got back in touch with their songs and 80’s was the best for music.
Still funky in 2021
This song made me jump on the Level 42-wagon.
Classic jazz hits from level 42
Love it the same as I did in 1981
