Other Megadeth songs I'd recommend My Last Words, In My Darkest Hour, Sweating Bullets, A Tout Le Monde, Angry Again, Trust, Train of Consequences, Foreclosure of a Dream to start. Happy listening.
It’s a never ending cycle we keep following. A man gets put into power, becomes corrupted, people fight to replace him, and another man takes his place.
Megadeth is easily my favorite amongst the thrash era. Better musicians than most, and a bit more intellect in their lyrics than most. Love it when you guys do Megadeth reactions. This was from the album Countdown To Extinction...their most commercially successful album. I was in Boston College when this came out. Fun times. Great reaction as always. Hope you're having a great holiday guys! 🤟🍻
@@diltberg9627Metallica is the more commercially successful band. I don’t think they said they weren’t. But megadeth are by far the better musicians that are more technical and compose songs almost like a classical song. Talent wise, megadeth blows Metallica out of the water. And that’s no disrespect to Metallica.
@@diltberg9627 then you are obviously not very bright. More successful yes. But who cares? That doesn't mean they are better musicians. Hell...Hetfield himself said Mustaine is a genius and frequently has better musicians!!! You are very simple minded obviously lol...🤣😂😂🤣
So this was their album where they went more mainstream. Hence why you it’s a little more simple and he really refined his vocals. But they have a handful of songs that still have the organized melodic chaos. Trust me. Listen to ashes in your mouth. My favorite megadeth song of all time. TRUST!!! Love the reactions! Keep ‘em coming!
Can't believe nobody asked for you to react to Hangar 18. I don't know much about Megadeath, mainly because I had my time full listening to other bands. Slowly and steadily, I'll get to know more. RIP Nick Menza, gone way too soon.
Lucretia or Five Magics next. This song is great. It was toned down a bit for radio play. One of the few that was actually played on the radio along with Trust.
Phil As you and Sam know that Dave Mustaine, founder of Megadeth was a member of Metallica before being fired from the band because of his addiction to alcohol. Dave never forgave Metallica for years of firing him. But 9 to 10 years ago, Metallica and Dave mend issues between them and him. Both bands were touring together for many tours. Dave recently battled throat cancer almost to Iron Maiden's Bruce Dickinson's battle with his cancer.
Love him or hate him Dave is responsible for the thrash metal guitar sound there wouldn't be that crunchy fast staccato without him listen to James he'll tell you himself Kerry King will say the same thing they learned it from him don't get me wrong they have their own style of greatness but it started with Dave
Megadeth has so many great songs. My two favorites from the album this song is from are "Architecture of Aggression," and "Psychotron." Those two have some great guitar work in them.
Songs like this just bring me back to being 18, 19 years old when the album came out,, and rocking out to this and others that you guys are experiencing now for the first time. Kind of wish I could have that experience again, but it's been on my playlist for decades, and still is.
I 1st heard/saw this song/video on daytime mtv at @ 11:30 am on a Tuesday 2 weeks before the album dropped. Imagine My Surprise Seeing The Name Of The Video On The Screen.....I FVKKN LOST IT!!
My favorite one. Always think of this tune at, "Election" time. Lol Fun & Cool Reactions. If you want to see, "Dave Mustaine" with a very young, "Metallica" look into the tune, "Kill Em' All" Mustaine is the guitar player before "Kirk" he also wrote the tune. He also wrote, "The Four Horsemen" But, I laid down his favorite tune while in "Metallica" Peace
The solo breakdown is pure artwork. I've always liked that plus the backseat syncopated drums are exceptional. But the big show is live! Most artists suck live, but Dave and any lineup he's had over the years take it to the next level, very much in the pocket driven by drums and bass. On time and very few mistakes if any during a performance, the amount of focus involved is taxing, ask me how I know😂😂😂
This 1992 Megadeth album 'Countdown to Extinction' was in the phase when Dave Mustaine was still trying to out-do Metallica ... Mustaine heard that Metallica were aiming for a crossover album that would take the band away from thrash & speed metal, so he wanted Megadeth to go that route musically w/ their 5th album that slowed down the tempos and sounded a bit more simplified... but still gnarly Megadeth. Mustaine had it confirmed when Metallica's 'black' album came out in 1991 and charted at #1 in the US and was a huge global hit ... All eyes were on Megadeth's response when 'Countdown to extinction' was released in 1992 ... But to Mustaine's dismay, Megadeth's 5th album charted at #2 in the US (Billy Ray Cyrus was the country phenomenon at the time w/ "Achy breaky heart" ... 🙄👎) Still, Megadeth was on a roll... 'Countdown' outsold 'Rust in Peace' going 2x platinum in the US and the band was headlining arenas w/ Pantera in support ... 3 music videos went on MTV ('Symphony of destruction'... 'Sweating bullets' ... 'Foreclosure of a dream' ... 🤘🤘🔥🔥) and songs like - 'Ashes in your mouth' ... "Skin O' my teeth" became radio faves... This line-up of Megadeth: Mustaine (guitar/ vocals), David Ellefson (bass), Marty Friedman (guitar) and (the late) Nick Menza (drums) became the most popular version of the band. However, Dave Mustaine's frustration of falling behind Metallica caused him to relapse on drugs on the road... A lucrative tour of Japan was cancelled on that tour after Mustaine suffered an overdose on the road in America and had to be resuscitated. After another stint in rehab, Mustaine finally decided to make some changes and accepted an offer by Metallica to open a few shows for them and make a peace offering in 1993. Sadly, it only helped somewhat... Mustaine admitted that he was shooting he+++n while making Megadeth's 'Youthanasia' album in 1994. His friends and family ordered him back into rehab and he made another effort to stay clean in the 90's.
The Sick, The Dying.. and the Dead was Megadeths 16th studio album. Watch the live version of this from Argentina for the most hype crowd ever and if you wanna know what it’s about watch the music video. It’s about electing a tyrant as President and a peaceful man shooting him.
Ohh you aint Kidding . I used ti take that disk with me on long overnight trucking Runs, And I would specificly look for that track at one part of the journey.
Hope you both had wonderful Thanksgivings. This was our 5th without our oldest daughter Tiffeny. And our 15th without our Grandson Ryeli. But Tiffs Angelversary is on the 30th. That will mark 6 years since her passing. She was 34. 2 blood clots hit her lungs , taking her life instantly. My youngest daughter was 7-1/2 months pregnant when hit by a drunk driver at 7:30 am. She was 25.Ryeli ( my grandson) lived for 7 days passing in my arms. But we did get what we call “ Ghost Kisses” from Tiff early Thursday morning. Her perfume was EVERYWHERE. So we knew she was with us!! And had a really great day. I shared that with you, because of how wonderful I think you both are. Hope I didn’t wreck the mood??!!❤️⭐️🙏
I’m 52 and have been a Megadeth fan ever since Dave was fired from Metallica. It’s crazy to think that we wouldn’t have Megadeth if that never happens. Love watching you guys. You are never gonna make everyone happy. I don’t always share y’all’s opinion but that’s ok. Opinions are supposed to be different. Yes, we say y’all in Kentucky.😂. I work 3rd shift and look forward to y’all’s channel every night at work. Keep doing what y’all do. Hey Phil, check out Megadeths Angry Again. It will not disappoint. Thanks
One of their most popular songs. Excellent riff to keep the song in a constant groove. Sometimes the simple riffs are the catchiest. If this song doesn't make you move, you're doing it wrong. In my driving and workout playlists.
If you like Megadeth there’s two songs off their Cryptic Writings CD, Almost Honest and Trust, I think the lead singer Dave Mustain was going through a rough time with his significant other when he wrote them, but they are two of my favorites by them
I love your reaction videos! You're both so much fun and the format of these reactions are different and more engaging than other music reaction videos. I like the quiz you include and the informative nature of these videos. Also, I appreciate how you react to a diversity of genres...from BlackPink to Megadeth, to Cinderella! I love that you love music!! I'm a fan! 🙂
Tornado Of Souls, My Last Words The Conjuring, and on the polished side; A Tout La Mode, Sweating Bullets, Vortex are great also for starters. 🤘❤️🇨🇦 p.s. Rust In Peace & Peace Sells are complete masterpieces.
Its hard to make a simple riff, that just hook you up, thats what Megadeth did with this song, the hook is simple but super catchy, and thats something many bands tryed to do, but rarely get it all the way there, like Pantera´s song walk its same thing, to give another example..
You 2 beautiful people kick ass so subbed. Solid review and this is one of Megadeth’s more main stream and less thrash metal song. Which made it a popular radio hit. Still it has all the components we love about Megadeth. Thanx and looking forward to more Megadeth 🤘🏾 Maybe some more TOOL as well. The Grudge or Parabol/Parabola or The Patient 👍
Fun fact: Dave Mustaine was the original lead guitarist for Metallica.
Everybody knows that
@@cindysherf8818yes but maybe the people recording the video don't.
Funner fact. James,Lars were actually originally part of Megadeth and were fired by Dave…. 😀
@@cindysherf8818wait ? I thought it was condos Jordanstein.
@@cindysherf8818Yeah metalheads do lol, not everyone’s a metalhead bro.
Probably one of Megadeth's more radio friendly songs. Train of Consequences, Angry Again, Sweating Bullets, A tout le monde are all recommended.
A Tout le Monde (original(unedited) and studio remastered) and Dave's daughter's version Electra Mustaine
I always thought the duet with Christina I believe her name was is the best version.
Angry Again!
Other Megadeth songs I'd recommend
My Last Words, In My Darkest Hour, Sweating Bullets, A Tout Le Monde, Angry Again, Trust, Train of Consequences, Foreclosure of a Dream to start. Happy listening.
Add She Wolf to the list
Seriously though, the list could be much longer lol.
Symphony of Destruction was the song that made me start listening to Megadeth and made me a big fan of them.
Hola, song ashes in your mouth live Hammersmith odeon 1992,agressive song from megadeth.

I would recommend Tornado of Souls next from Megadeth
They've done it already.
Live in Argentina !

Symphony of Destruction!!

My fave song from the new record.
Great record but I think Dystopia was just a bit more inspired imo
Yeah dude, it rips

Another song by them worth checking out is Sweating Bullets, watch the video for that one
You should watch the live in Argentina-version to also get the impact of the crowd!😊
The words really make this song. Fits perfectly with the riffs. Makes you realize subject matter like this is happening all the time around us.
Yep, and the brainwashed see nothing
Actually a fitting song for the times we are in.
I can't wait until you react to the song "Wake Up Dead" by Megadeth.
Dave was actually mad at how many riffs he put into "Killing Is My Business.... and Business Is Good!"
"Peace Sells" is a great one to check out.
Countdown to Extinction is solid. Also like “Skin of my Teeth” along with that title track.
You Need to do Devils Island and The Conjuring... Killer Tracks from Peace Sells album.
Too deep for beginners

Symphony of Destruction Live in Argentina is an experience.
Lucky to see them late 90’s in their prime, small arena here in Alaska ! Priceless!😉👍
Best megadeth song. His voice doesnt suck on it surprisingly.
Ohhh Yurrr!....on my warm up tunes off my drum list!.....Nice guys.

Sometimes the best music results from musicians splitting up - regardless of reasons - to give us two where before there was only one.

Another must to listen before to die song is IN MY DARKEST HOUR, Mustaine is very sensitive in that song
And one more he was classically trained also
Can't go wrong with megadave
Peace sells is an amazing song
Great reaction. Funny you mentioning Chaos as on their next album Youthanasia there's a song called Adicted To Chaos.
