Chris Broderick, the guitarist who plays the solo, is an amazing guitarist
But if you want the definitive version of that song and especially the solo, you need to hear the album version or live version from the early 90s with the guitarist who composed the solo, Marty Friedman

Marty's Ability also brought out the best in Dave, I think that Dave liked the challenge of trying to best Marty in the Plank Spanking Race and it lead to an amazing few years of guitar work.
I remember Marty telling us at Hammerjacks in Baltimore on night he had a audition coming up with Megadeth, and we all laughed,including him....True Story......

And Dave's interview where he said after hearing Marty play he panicked because he realized Marty was a better guitarist and that's when he decided to focus more on the music rather than the rockstar lifestyle . Marty may have saved Mustaines life ! I love that story !

Daves voice in 2000s was fire imo, totally recovered from drug abuse and then he had spinal injury and then his voice drastically changed.

Come one! Only geniuses like Mustaine and Friedman can write such a song. A masterpiece like that can only be created by them and there is by far no other band in this fucking world that can come close to this! I heard this solo for sure a 1000nd times and I still get goosebumps.Outstanding!
Dave Mustaine was born in La Mesa, Ca the first city east of San Diego and for a very long time lived in Fallbrook,Ca just North of San Diego before moving to Tennessee for his daughter as she’s an aspiring country music singer.
Usually don't play favorites, however, this is most likely my favorite Megadeth song \m/

An old friend and I are in a Megadeth live performance video with this lineup. That is my only claim to fame, lol.
This is considered by many to be one of their best solos. But they always are amazing.

Hadn’t seen Megadeth in concert until last year. Was a great show! Right up there at the top of the list and I’ve been going to rock concerts since the early 80s. Always regretted not seeing them back then but would definitely go again if they come near me again! Check out Rainbow “Mistreated” live 1977 in Munich. It’s 12 minutes but what a great performance! There’s so many great singers but Dio is my favorite.

This solo is widely regarded as the best solo in metal. And it is, in my book, at least. Friedman is guitar god.
It's too bad Chris Broderick butchered it.
The solo to this song is considered one of the best metal solos written and it really is, originally written by Marty Friedman. Chris Broderick does a good job here though.

This is my favorite Megadeth track. That guitar at the beginning is one of the toughest riffs ever written.

Well, it's not actually that hard. We played this song with my band when I was younger, and the only really tricky part is the solo, which I never nailed perfectly. It is a fast song, and I could not play it as fast anymore (because I haven't played in a decade), but I think I could still play that first riff. There are much harder riffs on Megadeth catalogue, and if you really want something even harder, you can try some Black Metal bands or Dream Theater.
And don't get me wrong, Megadeth is one of my favorite bands, and this song was so much fun to play. I'm sure we didn't play it this tight, but neither did Megadeth back in the days.

🤘🏼I saw them at a small venue about 10 years ago. They played the entire “Rust in Peace” album. The 25th anniversary of it. It was at Stubbs BBQ in Austin Tx. 🤘🏼🔥Anthrax and Slayer played as well.
You guys should definitely listen to Opeth! Maybe start with a song like Windowpane and gradually get to songs on Blackwater Park and Ghost Reveries.
Want some crazy solos? Listen to the band “death”. They have like 10 different riffs and at least 3 solos in each song. 😊

Hangar, Holy Wars, and Tornado are all on the same album. The one considered the best metal album ever by many. You only have like 18 more albums to dig into.
I like all the members who have played the solo. They have all brought a different flavor to the solo. That Rude Awakening lineup is the most underrated in my opinion.
Every live performance is sacred . Just think you could have your parents on film giving you advice.. we will cherish these times in the future.... nothing lasts forever.

Great reaction. It would be interesting to react to Slayer. Tons of guitar solos. Crushing guitar riffs. However, the lyrics are much darker than Megadeth or Metallica . I suggest Slayer's Seasons in the abyss, and please do the studio version. Also, do a lyric video so you can get all the lyrics.
The solo in this song is considered by many to be the best solo of alltime. I put it at number two behind Michael Schenker’s solo in alRock Bottom by UFO.

You two found the best of all Megadeth albums to listen to for the first time, They have quite a few awesome albums, but this in my opinion is their best one of all. Marty Friedman is the genius lead guitar player that wrote all those epic Egyptian and Middle Eastern style and sounding solos. Watch this and you will see why Marty is one of the best in metal and of all time.

If you're listening to a song for the first time, refrain from the live versions. Look for a video which shows lyrics as well and familiarize yourself with the song as much as possible, that way you know what the song talks about and what the artist actually meant for the song to sound like in a studio environment. Then and only then once you are familiar with the song should you jump to the live versions.
Y'all really should listen to the Marty Friedman version of this song. Chris Broderick plays it ok, but he doesn't add the nuances that Marty wrote into the solo.
