There’s a great Beavis and Butthead episode where they talk about why he’s so pissed off and they decide his dad must have kicked his ass as a kid. “DAMMIT PANTERA GET OUT THERE AND MOW THE LAWN!”
😂
So glad I recorded those episodes when they played those marathons
🤣🤣🤣
Dammit Pantera, this beer is warm. Get me another one!
The black-and-yellow guitar on the back of the "Van Halen II" album, known as "Bumblebee" is buried with Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell. Eddie Van Halen placed it in Dimebag's "Kiss Kasket"at his funeral because Darrell had said it was his favorite...KISS and Van Halen were Dimebag's fave bands growing up. RIP.
Yes Eddie said "an original should have an original"...
He met Eddie not long before he was killed. He made an offer to buy Bumblebee and Eddie declined but said he would build him one. When Eddie placed it in the Kiss Kasket (that Gene Simmons bought) he said, "An original deserves an original."
His last words before going on stage were reportedly "Van Halen".
@@spencerific93 Yeah, him and Vinnie would say it like a call to action. It was their way of saying, "time to get to work"
5 minutes alone is another heavy groove attitude song, and it has an official video too!
I agree they should do 5 minutes alone, but they should look up why they made the song first for context
I concur 100%
Hell yeah!!!❤❤🎉🎉
Dime's brother was Pantera's drummer Vinnie Paul, he passed in 2018. The best to ever do it❤ R.I.P the Abbott brothers 🖤🤘
2 of the best actually
@@AgenteusaRR Considered both no worry 😁😄
@@jimmy4828 He would only lose to Lombardo imo, butmaybe its me, Lombardo is probably the best drummer that ever lived (in metal)
@@AgenteusaRR You're putting Vinnie and Dave ahead of Danny Carey?...
...also try "This Love" and "I'm Broken" by Pantera.
This love is an amazing song but studio version needs to be heard because the music video cuts out parts of the song
The "I'm Broken" riff is godlike, Tony Iommi-tier shit. Dime was a genius.
Agreed. Also Cemetery Gates. Phil's vocal are insane !
I really like these that you suggested. For a hard-core song, I really like "13 steps to nowhere". I never hear reactions to this song.😎
Hell ya!!..
It’s like Sabbath. The riff doesn’t have to be technical it Hass to be deep dark and crunchy! The riff is hard AF!
Sabbath was definitely an inspiration for Pantera and it shows.
That line from Phil.
"You can't be something you're not"
So relevant today.
This song was written to all of their so-called friends who would run their mouth about them after they hit it big.
Last time I saw Pantera was in ‘99 they opened for Black Sabbath. Dimebag & his brother Vinnie (drummer) left the band & formed Damageplan. In 2004 Dimebag was killed ( unfortunately there’s video of actual shooting) Great guitarist in a great band
i saw that they had deftones with them and on Sunday night concert in detroit deftones could not play as there equipment got stolen so we had a longer pantera set.
great reaction! do "This Love" sometime... it's a very tender love song from this same album...😊 I love how these guys incorporated some hardcore (punk) flavor into their groove metal...a devastating combo
Why don't you request the better song "Mouth for War"?
I think that the young lady will appreciate the romantic subject matter😝 @@shack8110
seen them in concert last month opening for Metallica, it was AWESOME!!
😮
Probably one of the most played songs at any sports venue. They are legends. God rest their souls. Two brothers who made it to pinnacle but died tragically too soon. It's very sad but seems to have happened to a lot of famous musicians. Some by their own device but tragically many from unforeseen circumstances
This band means so much to me, and I know I'm not the only one.
You're fgn right my man! My favorite band ever & I never got to see them live. I cried when Dimebag was murdered as I was still holding out that Pantera would get back together at some point. I have seen so many great bands live, but I would trade a few of them just to see MY fellas just once.
I had the pleasure of meeting Dime 1x, Vince 4x. The most coolest, down to earth, sweetest "stars" ever!!! 💯🎯🤘💕❤
19 years later and losing Dime still HURTS.. there will never be anyone else like him and Vinnie!
I was 25 or so. And I remember that moment like if it happened yesterday. I cried. I cried hard.
Even Eddie Van Halen said this was one his favorite guitar solos of all time and i absolutely agree. He was an insane player and is buried with eddies number 1 yellow striper guitar👍🏼🔥
I love how much you get into the music you try. Music is emotion and attitude. Expanding the range of emotions and attitudes helps better communicate with a hugely diverse world.
Pantera- Hollow 👊🏽
Grew up in fort Worth and got to see them play in small clubs like Joe's garage and the basement. This song is catchy and is a great addition to your workout playlist. Dime was an absolute legend on guitar. Rex deserves credit for the bass lines keeping the groove during solos. Great reaction!! Unfortunately, yes he was shot in Dec 8, 2004. Same day as John Lennon but different year. His brother, Vinnie, the drummer died of a heart attack June 22, 2018
Wow, same day as Lennon! 😢
When Dimebag was still a teenager he won so many local guitarist competitions that they eventually stopped letting him compete and made him a judge...so somebody else would have a chance to win!
I met dimes brother. Drummer Vinny Paul in the rainbow bar n grill in Hollywood 2 months before he psssed away of a heart attack in June of 2018. Nicest guy. Cried when I found out.
Dec 8 2004. Will never forget that day. Was 14 years old and listening to the radio when it was announced. I couldn't believe it. I had just him when he was playing with Damageplan.
I can’t believe it’s been 19 years already. I was 24… to me.. losing Dime was like my generation’s Elvis or something.
@@mistymichele3771 so at that point you had been listening to them for a while. I had only been a metal fan for about 5 years when he died.
People that said they werent shit and would not get anywhere then come back like friends when you make it big thats who pissed them off
Their concerts were bangers. Mosh pits, crowd surfing, topless girls on boys' shoulders, we had it all. Nobody who's seen them live could describe the awesomeness to you, or make you feel a percentage of what we feel when we're taken back to those concerts. So, you'll just have to settle for their recordings. I still have Dimebag's guitar pic that he tossed to me too.
Cleveland? My daughter and Dimes daughter are best buddies. I had given them tickets to Marilyn Manson’s show here in Dallas. The phone rang and my daughter said that Tara’s dad had been shot onstage. I thought he had made an appearance at Manson…but she didn’t know what to tell Tara. I told her to call her mom. I had known Dime since we were young adults. The only person that could get me to do beer bong. He always had a smile and a hug. He let me be the first person to ever play them on the radio. Pantera, at one point, was hair metal-spandex and all. Then they got Phil as singer and the rest is history. Darrell won many guitar contests here, as did Stevie Ray Vaughn. Great memories. Thank you for this reaction! ☮️❤️😎🎼☮️
Thank you for sharing personal insight, I love hearing that Dime truly was one of a kind and such an amazing human, as well as an amazing musician.
@@mistymichele3771 He was so kind, fun and protective of us when a full house started moshing and stage diving. Always beside the stage - safely
Dime was shot on December 8, 2004 in Columbus, OH. RIP.
Pantera Walk is played in a lot of music venues between bands
I was there in Chicago when they filmed this.... take after take after take.... still was a great evening! I recall Trouble and White Zombie opened. Great night!
I used to work concert security and production work in Shreveport La. during Pantera start with Phil on vocals,, hung out with the guys several times, could'nt keep up with the partying, but all of the guys through the years remained humble and grateful of the fans, R.I.P. Vinny and Darrel thanks for the memories and the jams
Check out a video called VH1 Behind The Music Pantera. Im one of the lucky few who actually got to party with this band once or twice. And Dimebag drew on my arm and I had it tattoo'd on the next day. Dime was shot at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus, Ohio. He was one of the nicest people on the planet, and would do anything for anyone. There are also his home movies called Dimevision. He treated everyone like family. RIP Dime and Vinnie!
5 mins alone is even Heavier both musically and lyrically . Watch it if you dare 🔥
This song was the anthem at the fire pit parties in high school in the 90s. The live version on their 101 proof live album is even better 👊🤘
This has to be the heaviest, catchiest, song ever written. It’s literally impossible not to sing along to! Ha Ha! Stay Away From Me!! 😆 Is there no standard in life? Gotta love these guys! What great live memories! WHOOOOO!! Again,TEXAS! I love that.
Growing up near Arlington, we would run into the Abbott brothers here and there, but let me just say they were fans first. Every concert that came through Dallas, they were usually there. Not backstage. but wondering through the crowds, talking to their fans. Partying, hanging out. It was a fun time.
Their shows were amazing!! Saw em at least 6 times…
You should have seen these guys live in the 90's. The mosh pits were exactly like the video...and sometimes Way crazier. Good times.
Dimebag and his brother Vinnie had both left Pantera and formed their own band, Damageplan. They were on tour in support of Damageplan's first album. Dimebag was shot and killed on stage on December 8, 2004, in Columbus, OH. You should react to a Damageplan song. Soul Bleed might be a good one to start with. 😁
Texas here. Thanks y’all . 🇺🇸
The Drummer, Vinnie Paul is Dimabag's brother and he was playing drums for Damage Plan. So he witnessed his brother's death.
This was my first Pantera song, thanks to ECW and RVD(Rob Van Damn)
I don’t care what anyone says. I’m Broken is my favorite Pantera song. No questions asked. Or, maybe the art of shredding.
Dimes death took place in Columbus Ohio. RIP. Vinnie Paul the drummer, dimes brother past away I think in 2018. So sad. You need to react to I'm broken
I went to a "Skid Row show " and "Pantra opened. At the first bar of the 1st song, all the chairs from the floor (the hockey rank) cleared out. It became a huge pit.
im a big Dimebag fan...
the way he died... the most tragic and absurd story in rock... still cant believe it... R.I.P.
Simplest riff that Dimebag Darrell came up w/ for the 1992 Pantera album 'Vulgar display of power'... For Pantera to go even heavier than 'Cowboys from hell' in 1990 was a major achievement, but there were just moments of pure brilliance from the band on that record - 'Walk' was the basic, angry stomp... Others like 'This love'... and 'Hollow' added some subtle acoustic guitar for variety as well.
But it was the raging bull that was Pantera on songs like 'Mouth for war' ... 'A new level'... 'F+++ing hostile'... that always ignited their crowds into a moshing frenzy 🤘🤘🔥🔥
Dimebag was killed in Columbus, OH, at a music venue called the Alrosa Villa, I worked there during the early and mid 90's.
Respect Walk Great PANTERA.......
White zombie opened Pantera came up 2nd then, Ozzy one of the coolest concerts I've seen
Pantera started out as a hair metal band in 1981. They released three totally different albums produced by Jerry Abbott. The father of Dimebag Darryll Abbott and Vinny Paul Abbott. They had different stage names back then. Vocalist was Terrence Lee Glaze or Terry Glaze. Dimebag called himself Diamond Darryll and bass player Rex Brown was Rex Rocker. They released Metal Magic (1983), Projects In The Jungle (1984) and I Am The Night (1985). Glaze left in 1986 and Philip Hansen Anselmo joined in 1987 and they changed their style. Check out early Pantera - All Over Tonight. More glam metal but a great long guitar solo. Also check out Anselmo in Down - New Orleans Is A Dying Whore and Ghists Along The Mississippi
I was lucky enough to see them twice in the early and mid 90's. Both shows were amazing. They were incredible live. Great reaction guys.
Good ol Darrell was an Arlington Tx native. A hometown hero. Same with the drummer, his big brother Vinnie Paul. My pops got the opportunity to open with his band the small town gigs in the late 80s for Pantera. And got to hang with those boys. Long live dime and vin.
They also play Pantera every time the Dallas stars score a goal on home ice. Getcha pull
I follow many of these channels who step into the world of metal. I've been a life long metal fan. And I'm 55. I Love how you listen to the full song and don't stop it every 10 seconds like most channels do. You get the full vibe. !! Love it!!
seen them tuesday, great live shows
The Alrosa Villa in Columbus, OH. I was living there, at the time. I know I'm late to the party with this one, but he was with his band Damage Plan, the band formed after the breakup of Pantera.
Psycho Holiday -next. Awesome solo in that. Hell , Dime was a genius. R.I.P. Dime and Vinnie.
seen Pantera on the Far Beyond Driven tour and the Great Southern Trendkill tour, on stage, no one could touch their energy
Dime died at the Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus, Ohio, December 8, 2004, while playing with Damageplan, which was the band he and brother Vinnie formed after Pantera broke up, December 8 is a tragic day in rock history, because not only did Dime die on that date, but it was the date that Mark David Chapman shot and killed John Lennon in 1980.
Though this song is not on the album, the entire Cowboys from Hell is great and my favorite.
Man, this just brings me back to being in my living room with my buddies listening to Metal FULL BLAST!!
Great times 🤘
As far as you saying "this would have been a bangger live"... It Was ! One of y favorite concerts was PANTERA opening up for BLACK SABBATH at LA FOURM 🤘FUCKIN ROCKED ! 🤘😎🤘
Saw them four times in the early 90’s. Those mosh pits were insane
Hi Phil & Sam, RIP Diamond Back, A great song
Columbus Ohio!! I went to that club 5 months after it happened..unfortunately they were closed the night I went
RIP Vinnie & Dime 🤘😎 Legends never die
Anything you listen to from Vulgar Display Of Power or Far Beyond Driven is going to be a banger!
Also, the Nickelback song Side Of A Bullet is about Dimebag's unfortunate death, and also includes guitar work of his. After Pantera disbanded, most of the band (minus Phil) went on to form the band Damage Plan. It was at one of their shows that a fan with obvious mental health issues who blamed Dimebag for breaking up Pantera shot him during the performance. RIP
Great reaction! Got to see Pantera twice back in the day (1991 as an opening act and 1996 as a headliner). Of hundreds of metal shows I've been to, without a doubt, Pantera was the heaviest, loudest, most savage band I've ever witnessed.
been to Alrosa village hundreds of times, was supposed to be there the night Darrell died, but my buddy couldn't make it, so we canceled , R.I.P. Abott brothers
This whole album is fire
Hey guys, have a great suggestion . Devin Townsend “ Deadhead Live “ at Royal Albert Hall . Love the channel 💓🤘🏼
“Dime” ❤️🙏🏻😢 he’s wearing a White Zombie shirt 🔥🔥🔥 I’ve had the privilege to see them live a 1/2 dozen times !!! Miss you bro…. ❤️ he was kill 2 days after my 39th birthday Dec. 8th 2004 on stage with “Damageplan” at Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus, Ohio.
My friend/bass player asked me to meet him in Flint Mi on friday Dec. 10th to see Damage Plan. I am as big of a Dime fan as anyone. My Dimebolt Dean is my favorite guitar. I was crushed when he called me Thursday morning and told me what happened. Instead of a concert, we attended a candlelight vigile in the parking lot.
Walk is one my all time favorite songs
We used to play this sooooo loud (along with the rest of the album) at my drummer friends house in the way back days. R.I.P. Sean, I miss you
Yeah it is hard to stomach Dime's death when he was playing at the Al Rosa Villa in Columbus about a mile from where I lived
Football and hockey stadiums play this all the time
Gotta check out jungkook featuring usher - standing next to you. We would never though a legendary r&b singer “usher” would collaborate with jungkook, one of the famous member of bts male group . This might be the last song until 2025 since all korean males has to enlist in military server for nearly 2 years . The biggest kpop group and the biggest group in the world is bts by the way. They having been dominating the korean charts for 7+ years and recently america charts.
"I'm Broken" is another great song by Pantera worthy of a reaction.
Hey I know the answer. It was Alrosa Villa in Columbus, OH. I lived about 1-2 miles from it for a while. Saw Armored Saint there in like 2000.
"This Love" as has been said.
My best friend was planning to go to that concert, but her mom wouldn’t let her. In Columbus, Ohio.
Seen them in the early 90s.🤘this goes hard live.
... I remember well that day. I just got off work/ nightshift...
It was in 2004 Dec 8th at the Alrosa Villa nightclub in Columbus Ohio. It was Dime and Vinnie's new band Damageplan. A buddy of mine was at that show when it happened. Said it happened so fast that everyone was stunned and confused until they seen all the blood. R.I.P. Dimebag & Vinnie Paul 🤘😎🤘
😢
Pro tip: Next time somebody pisses you off in public, just yell some PANTERA lyrics at them! I haven’t tried this yet, but it feels right. 😁👍
RVD used a version of this as his entrance music in the old ECW.
Might've heard it there
Walk on home boy!
Dimebag actually got shot when he was performing with Damageplan. He and his brother Vinnie (drummer) helped create Damageplan because they were tired of waiting around for Phil to do more Pantera. Phil was off doing his own side gigs and had a pretty tough time with drug addiction. The deranged fan thought that dimebag had something to do with Pantera not getting back together which is the reason he shot him. We lost Vinnie Paul a few years ago to some heart issues. Dime Bag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, as brothers, were amongst the greatest at guitar and drums in the history of Metal.
PANTERA “5 minutes alone”
"The Sleep" would be a great one for next.
RIP VNNIE AND DIME
Dimebag was buried in a Kiss Kasket, which was donated by Gene Simmons.
Dimebag was a huge Kiss fan.
Dime and Vinnie Paul were my niece’s best friend’s god father.’s. They grew up in Dalworthington Gardens Texas. RIP Darrell and Vinnie Paul. 🤘🏼🙏
Columbus, Ohio.....playing with Damageplan.....December 8, 2004. RIP Dimebag
I got introduced to Pantera in 1992 when I was 16 and the first one I heard was from Vulgar Display of Power and it was called F@cking Hostile which is a car crash of a song!
Groove metal at its best.
Pantera pits back then were badass to be in. I am a proud survivor of some very brutal metal pits. At 50 I am not about to get in one but I am still moshing and headbanging in my house :)
They occasionally play this on alternative radio. At least here in Indiana. Hard core corn fed rockers!!
for twenty years i thought the chorus was "Breathe! Spit! Walk!"
😂😂😂
Five minutes alone is a good one.
Best workout song ever❤
