    I just applied these today! If you leave that top plastic sheet over the nail polish strip when you apply the strip, it will protect the nail strip when you are pressing with the cuticle stick...then remove that plastic cover after you have the strip stuck down well.

I have a couple of those plastic and rubber cuticle pusher, great tools. I actually like the gloss ones more I think. It’s hard to compare them since they don’t have the same look (these look amazing in the sun, shimmering and shining). But the gloss is so beautifully simple to apply.

  • @Lara-EL
    @Lara-EL 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Thank you for this. I was already thinking about trying this product. Your convinced me to buy them. Tried them yesterday and they looked great! However, today one of the gel strips looked like it's already lifting near the cuticle and on one side. 😕 I followed directions to the "t". What did I do wrong? I appreciate your help.

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Toni,
      It’s super hard to tell, sometimes I get a wonky application too. The most likely culprit is the sticker was a little too large for the nail or overlapped it. If all the others are looking good, then I would just replace that one

    • @Lara-EL
      @Lara-EL 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kbeautyhobbit Hi, thanks so much for your quick reply. The sticker on the nail that I mentioned was actually on the smaller side. It didn't cover all of my nail (small gaps on either side of nail). Also, I've checked the other nails and others have started lifting too. 😟 Does lamp time play a role in this? DD recommends no more than 1 minute curing time. Did I cure too little, or too much? 😔

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hmmm that’s really strange. I’m afraid I have no idea. These are sooo new. I’ve applied their gloss strips dozens of times, but the glaze just came out recently. I did one cycle of cure on the lamp in my video and it seemed to be enough. Maybe just try again in a few days ☹️ that’s so frustrating

      My first application lasted about 10 days, but my subsequent attempts only lasted 2-3 days before my nail glaze started popping off. Embarrassing in public! After my first manicure, I bought more colors, so I am discouraged thinking they do not work as well as I thought. Have you done the glaze again? I am not sure what I am missing either.

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Quality is good on both. For me personally, if I had to choose just one, I would choose gloss strips. I feel like they last longer and never ever give me any issues. The glaze do have some pretty designs, and I’m wearing glaze right now, but they are a bit trickier to apply perfectly. Get the gloss first :) or maybe one of each and see which you like more. A lot probably depends on your nail size and shape, too

    I just put on my dashing dive glaze and I love them, but I was told by Sally’s Beauty that I could put the top coat on without the base coat but I cannot get them to dry. I cured for 3 mim and “still not dried!” Do you have any recommendations? Do I have to take off and start completely over?

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What part isn’t drying? The stickers? Or the top coat? Depending on the brand of the top coat you might have to wipe off the sticky residue with an alcohol wipe after curing. If the stickers aren’t curing, then they might be defective.

    How long did Dashing Diva Glaze last? 🙂I wish they would come out with more designs. Does Dashing Diva Gloss or Ohora last longer for you?

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I ended up taking it off about 10-11 days in just because my nails grew out so much it looked a little funky. But it stayed on well. Ohora is about the same way - 10-11 days and the growth is too much. I will add that ohora sometimes will start snagging my hair at the cuticle line about a week in, but dashing diva glaze didn’t do that.
      I bet they will have more designs later. They probably are somewhat testing the market at the moment. But stay tuned - I have another similar brand review coming soon and they have different designs 😉

    Can I put this sticker on a fake nail?

      Most likely yes, but no personal experience.

      @@kbeautyhobbit okay I’ll try it and see what happens. I’m going to buy it today. Thanks for the tutorial by the way! 🥰

      You are welcome. Definitely share your results if you have time, because other people have asked about putting them on fake nails before

    How was the removal process?

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not bad at all! Just slide an orange stick soaked in remover or cuticle oil between them and the nail.

    How long do you cure the base coat and the top coat?

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      This will depend on the brand. Gelish is 1min for base coat and 2 mins for top coat under a UV lamp. LED has shorter times. I just follow instructions on the bottles.

    This product sucks unless you have short or very straight growing nails. If your nails are long with any type of curve to them this will not lay flat on your nails.

    • @kbeautyhobbit
      @kbeautyhobbit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine aren’t very curved (well, some are curved from side to side but not vertically). Have you tried their gloss strips? Maybe those would be better for long nails.

    • @reneeboyd80
      @reneeboyd80 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kbeautyhobbit Yes, the strips are just to straight if you have long nails with a bend. The glitter strips or heavily decorated strips are okay because you can hide the flaws.
      It looks very pretty on your nails.

    Um.. .not seeing the comments where they are soooo stiff that they don't actually shape and stick to your nails on the sides and therefore when cured, it's still lifted. I thought maybe curing them, would form better to the sides and no. I was excited for these but they're actually useless. Just a piece of plastic sitting at the top of the nail and that's just what it looks like.

      You might like Nailog brand better - they are much thinner and if your nails are curved those should adhere better. Or dashing diva gloss (the ones that don’t need to be cured at all). I have videos for both in my nails playlist.
      Curing won’t affect the shape if it wasn’t fitting your nail right before the cure.

      That’s ok. This specific kind (glaze) isn’t my favorite. I prefer either Nailog or the dashing diva Gloss personally. Videos for both are in the Nails playlist.
