They really did a nice setup with KC. Uniform, aesthetic. Not a cage to turn it into MMA, not a ring to turn in into kickboxing. They succeeded at making something unique.
They're karatekas 😂 I wouldn't expect anything less then that from Gabriel as he is always a respectful fighter.. it'd be crazier to see Gabriel upset after a fight 😂 .. Gabriel varga is giving "wonderboy" Thompson a run for his money on the NMF belt😂😂
@takionjose6657 to act that way is never granted by the budo you do. It should but it isn't. I was an aikidoka and although you should expect that everyone is super nice and respectful (many are ofc), yet they aren't. It always depends a lot on the teacher/sensei and the school you are in. When you go into competition these things become even more delicate and obvious as personalities break through. I get to know some karate- dojos where beating the opponent is the only goal. Whatever the cost. So I always like to celebrate when "good" foundations come to shine. Especially after this fight when you see that it comes from the heart and is no hollow form
textbook application as other vids.. level change, cutting angles, constant pressure, moving close to the attack range, head movements in and exit. Absolutely Beautiful!
Ok a bit late but this video gave me a great idea for a fight nickname for you, "the machine" the way you stay technical and are completly unwavering in your gameplan and technique never overextending just like a machine
damn that was one hell of a beautiful fight. straight from a video game. congrats Gabriel beautiful performance. Young Brazilian opponent was also very good
its really interesting because when a fighter falls down on the wall, since its so inclined it will still prop them up allowing them to easily kick from that position. so for newcomers theyll have to immediately condition themselves to keep their guard up when their opponent falls on the wall - the fight goes on! awesome match 👍
That was a really good show. Loved it. I can see youve worked on a bit of bjj at some point and it helped with the wall and different rule set lol From the outside looking in anywaya
Hey, Gabe, I know you asked for nicknames already, but what do you think of 'The White Shadow?' There are some connotations in philosophy, regarding the white shadow as well that are kind of interesting
I think I remember from the first upload of this fight that there was some confusion regarding whether takedowns were allowed or not. Which is why there's only takedowns from the red corner.
Cool format, cool ring. I have to look up the rules I guess... No kicks on the knee/thigh? What's the thinking behind that? And there's throws, but no submission attempts at all?
The rules for it changed a bit since then. Now they can knee, and kick to the thigh. The ground and pound is more significant now as well. You cannot submit.
They tried to emulate traditional karate rules with no leg licks. Karatekas forbid leg kicks because of the potential for groin shots among students. Only sweeps. Same with submissions, they don't exist in Karate, only punches on a grounded opponent.
Gabriel is a black belt and grew up with his father who is a black belt karate instructor 😂 most of the best fighters start under traditional martial arts and know how to adapt to full contact sport like Varga's or Machida , GSP , wonderboy Thompson 😂😂 kyokushin karate is one of the toughest martial arts any real martial artistist knows it's not the martial art but the martial artist🥋✌🏽
@ nah Kyokushin is also a waste of time. MMA is closest to real fighting, second is Muay Thai, then kickboxing and boxing. Rest are imitations of these or just inferior.

It is Kickboxing not Karate.
Im a big fan of the rule set!
The allowing of beautiful judo and wrestling takeedowns aswell as thai sweeps and clinching is fantastic.
@@kingkobra18 No it's not. No leg kicks. Sweeps allowed, ground and pound allowed. It's close to traditional karate.
I died when one of the commentators states Bruno said he will try to finish this one quickly and Bas says “Oof… yeah good luck with that.”
That was the funniest line I've ever heard in combat sports commentary.
😂😂
Coach Varga taught me more than my real life kickboxing coach, if I ever win a belt I'll send it to him
Have u ever try recommending Gabriel’s vids to your coach?
Great fight! Both landing big shots

Clearly impressed. Bravo. Stand your ground . Gorgeous defence. Stamina . Love the end. Bravo.
Bravo.
Congratulations man... tough fight. That boxing paid off...
Great fight! Your left side looked really mangled. Respect!

I second this, great name
It's too late in his career to get a nickname.
@@user-he4ef9br7z he just made a video asking people to give him a nickname
Gabriel “MegaMind” varga
Awesome job, tough fight too.
How cool to see this young Gabriel. And what a good fight! Thanks for sharing, enjoyed watchin it.
Loved how effective those calf kicks were!
damn that was one hell of a beautiful fight. straight from a video game. congrats Gabriel beautiful performance. Young Brazilian opponent was also very good
Nice fight! Well done both especially Gabriel
your punch selection is awesome
nice debut, well done! 🤩🥋
You are a true champion due the respect that you shared with the opponent congrass amazing man
That handtrap to high kick in the 3rd was really slick
Congratulations on the tough fight and great victory! This is great to see you compete
Nice, well done. Endurance is a huge factor that many underrate!

Incredible fight, respect!
Great sportmanship
Slick technical fight. Insane skill display by both.
Precision and volume beautiful fight, nicely dismantled big congrats to Gabriel "Viperstrike" Varga!
That was a really good show. Loved it. I can see youve worked on a bit of bjj at some point and it helped with the wall and different rule set lol From the outside looking in anywaya
Was anyone else looking for some major elbow action? Varga trained Muay Thai for a while, after all… Very interesting fight.
nagyon szep meccs
Such a class fight. Really enjoyed watching ..
Stonecold Varga!
Nice defense, feints, and level change. Your opponent was very spirited. I think the difference was your ring control. Congratulations.
They gave each other respect every round. Let your sons watch and learn.
Never saw Varga fight before
LOVE IT
Seems like the pit makes it harder to corner or force someone to stay in the pocket and exchange. It allows for more ways to escape vs a ring.
I salute thee Gabriel
Does Gabriel have a black belt in Karate or other martial Arts?
Now this is epic
Hey, Gabe, I know you asked for nicknames already, but what do you think of 'The White Shadow?'
There are some connotations in philosophy, regarding the white shadow as well that are kind of interesting
After the Mike Tyson fight....Bruno was holding back
Awesome bro.
I think I remember from the first upload of this fight that there was some confusion regarding whether takedowns were allowed or not. Which is why there's only takedowns from the red corner.
gabes the best!
2 great fighters .
Cool format, cool ring.

@@user-he4ef9br7zsubmissions do exist in Karate, just not in sports Karate. Also plenty of styles use low kicks, again just not in sports Karate.
Leg kicks are now allowed in karate Kombat?
Great fight....
Really good fight
great fight
Gabriel, is your upcoming KC fight on Thursday the last on your contract?
Varga vs lerdisila rematch!!!
Very good
Why did Bruno stop ground and pounding 2 mins 40 seconds in...? Ref didn't interrupt
Great channel🙏💪
Please, everyone reading this, support student protests in Serbia and soon Balkan.
It's now or never.
Why is it called karate? I dont see any traditional karate
*muay thai is best*
Why is it called Karate Combat? It's not very Karate
🪽
Hooks, bobbing, the stances... this isn't karate
karate ?see no difference with other mixed combat sports . kickboxing + wrestling lol
The ruleset is a bit different from other promotions.
Different ruleset, gloves, uniform, points.
No, you held back a lot.
Not impressed 👎
I’m voting it all on you in KC! I believe in you, my man! 🤘🦾
Thaiboxing in Karate Combat... lächerlich.
God I love Muay Thai, K-1 and mma guys entering this hybrid competition and beating actual karate people. It’s a thing of beauty.
Karate isn’t that effective, unless Kyokushin.

@ where do you think MMA came from exactly? I’ll wait.
Muay Thai will always beat karate when wrestling isn’t allowed. Deep karate stances and linear movement/strikes work better in MMA.
