Guys, this isn’t carnivore. Animal based and carnivore are different. Everybody commenting about how they went carnivore, did you even watch the video? Smh
Exactly they're very different, yes carnivore is closer to animal-based than most other diets but it is still completely different. Animal based has plenty of carbs included depending on how much exercise you are doing
I do full blown carnivore and I've never felt better in my 56 years, however I do believe that just removing the seed oils, grains and sweeteners will give anyone 90% of the results I'm experiencing.
I’ve been carnivore for the better part of 2 years … went great , exercise 1.5 hours a day. Adding honey and blueberries to beef has been a game changer for cardio
I was vegan for 2 years and was taking 30 supplements. I ended up with severe gut dysbiosis and was so bad I got horrible stomach pains from almost everything I ate. Out of desperation, I decided to give keto a try and then went into carnivore. While I felt great initially, it went downhill and after 6 months I felt so ill I had to stop. My asthma worsened, developed rashes on my body and face, stomach pains, nausea, heartburn, heart palpitations and insomnia. I worked my way back to keto for awhile but the symptoms still remained so I kicked by body out and went towards a more balanced diet. Long story short, the more vegetables I ate, the worse I felt again. That’s when I stumbled across the animal based diet and decided to try it and it has been the best decision ever!
I tried this diet and I gained 39 pounds and was continuously hungry with the fruits all in 3 months. I quit the fruits and I have lost 36 pounds in 6 months. No more uncontrollable hunger. I actually must force myself to eat a second meal. Very low carbs about 20 total grams a day works for me, but unfortunately the fruit, which I grow doesn't work for me.
Recently tore my Achilles heel, so I went from 185lbs to 205lbs @5'11". Not thrilled. I watched Rogan the other day and he mentioned this diet, thanks for hammering the details. My son and I will give it a go. Thanks, Doc!
Hey Wellness Warrior, oxalates will really mess some people up. In the meantime they think they are not healthy if they are not eating greens that are silently destroying their stomach.
When I ate the vegan diet, I had to poop 4-5 times a day. SMH. I was also farting all the time. My coworkers hated me. On the carnivore diet, I'm doing great and look great. It's amazing!!! 👍👍
Hilarious Alan! A fart, a fart is good for the heart; 😂 Farting is an indication that your digestive system is working well. Good idea to stay away from onion, garlic, broccoli, beans and chewing gum to avoid the embarrassment. Good luck and take care!👋
Hey Wellness Warrior, I gave the vegan diet a go because everyone bragged about how good it was. I was in school at the time... I had to abort the mission because it was messing up my stomach so bad.
@@JIMKATSANIDIS Farting is not plainly a sign of your digestive system working well. Many factors may cause farting. Excessive gas is often a result of excessive consumption of sugars that your microbiome eats. It is not an indicator of the microbes being beneficial or not, but simply that they are there, eating, and releasing gases. In my opinion, a digestive system full of gas is often very uncomfortable and/or painful. Common sense points to this likely not being a symptom of a healthy mocrobiome, but one overtaken by too many microbes that release gases due to an excessive amount of sugars that feed them 😊
I started the animal based diet 2 weeks ago and I'm feeling much better! I am 70 yo and take 9 different meds; insulin resistent; pre-diabetic; liver cirrhosis; leukoareosis; etc.
Thank you Dr Z for doing this video. I transitioned from keto to carnivore a few months ago and it was the best thing I could have done for myself. You bringing this to people's attention is a huge deal. I hope they listen 😊 (I do have some dairy but no fruit)
I did something extremely close to this (there was no honey or maple syrup) as a kid over 20 years ago. I lost 50lbs and managed to maintain the program for 2 years. I had terrible stomach problems that improved drastically during that period. These days I'm miles behind where I was then but I've decided to reconnect with that old way of eating that worked so well for me. The first thing I noticed this past week was a huge water loss. I'm eating lots of fruit, like half a cantaloupe, two cups of berries and a banana at once! I feel good.
This is nearly my diet since some years. I added some nuts and oats occasionally. Instead of honey i use the sweet amino acid glycine. Still have some gut issues after drinking coffee.
I started the diet cold turkey two weeks ago and I'm down to 196 from 203. I did experience the so called keto or carnivore flu for about a week. I'm 5'11" btw.
When you’re eating things like higher carb fruits, you’re no longer in ketosis unless you stick to minimal low carb fruit like berries. I follow something similar to Saladino which is you get your carbs from fruit, honey and raw milk which helps to keep you out of ketosis and helps to balance electrolytes with the least amount of plant toxins.
I make my own tallow lotion!! I asked our butcher for all the suet from the 1/4 beef that we get from our rancher, and oh boy! That was a lot of fat to render!!

Animal based with carbs? 🤔 Your diet sounds more like Paleo or Paul Salidino's diet, not Animal based like carnivore. Which is fine but it's quite different. Your diet has high and lows of insulin and runs mostly on a carb metabolic state instead of a ketone metabolic state.
