Hey Herson
thank you for featuring me in this video!
You put so much work into editing this and explaining things in depth, I really appreciate being part of this video.
In this game all the stars were alined really to beat the prior record.
Much Love
strong trynda! each time i watch your video i could learn something new. my poland, cree and many civ skills are all from u actually :)hope u can get better scores in your later competitions
I've been playing civ on and off since the original in the 90's, just got into civ6 a few weeks ago. The depth in this game is staggering, the amount of optimization is fantastic. Great video, and great job on the record, this game is so full of brilliant players. The knowledge, luck, and awareness it takes to achieve this record is beyond the scope of most people, super impressive. Gratz!
YONGLE
I watched this live and was late to work because of it, lol. So much had to go right that I don't think it will ever be duplicated. One thing was, Aztec is a friend IRL, and he wasn't going to attack.
Even with the support of a neighbor it's naturally super hard to beeline the tech tree to get to future tech fast enough let alone finishing the required projects :) Pretty sure this is not reproductible (reproductible?) under any feasible circumstances. Takes godlike spawn and a big brain to make it happen.
I agree with you. I just pointing out normally Aztec as a neighbor means you aren't simming@@sythanh14
This full deep analysis of overall strategy and his turn-to-turn decision making was incredibly educational. You make it seem so obvious in hindsight with your laid out commentary that Trynd was destined to beat the world record, whilst simultaneously holding us at the edge of our seats.
We'll like to see more of these!
jess thats waht i am tawlking about
One of my viewers told me about your channel. I'm glad that I popped over to check you out. Nice job man :)
I loved this new video format. The editing and the pace of the video was very good. I'd love to see more of these longer format videos, but also mixed up with other 7-12min videos as well.
Keep it up mate 👍
nice use of summoning salt / HOME - We're finally Landing
Great video! Amazing to see how much thought and pre-planning goes into every decision a seasoned Civ player makes
Great vid. Excellent editing, probably took forever but wow! How easy to follow and catch the key moments. Thanks!
Love it. Very cool overview of a huge moment in the community
Great video ! Serves as a leader spotlight while also explaining so much general info
I really enjoyed watching this video. Very insightful!
What an amazing run and an amazing explanation of it, thank you
I liked your presentation very much. Great music choices throughout as well!
Great videos, but especially enjoyed this one with the details, music choice, and editing!
Loved this content, would be thrilled if you have any more like fastest culture victories too!
I'd love so see more of that!
Great video! Learned something new about game I have played 1000h :D
Man congrats to Trynda. What an insane record. More vids like this it was great.
Great video. Reminded me of a Secret Base or Emp Lemon style of video.
Amazing video !
Thought the music was a bit too loud when you were speaking but still a very informative video
top tier editing as usual
Great video as always !
Just one point : if he was so ahead in techs, wasn't it the perfect opportunity to play greedy and go for Royal Society ? Or is it too risky vs Aztec combat bonuses for example.
Honestly? I think he could've gotten away with Royal Society here for sure. The only player here who is close enough and strong enough to feasibly attack him, barring a backstab from Babylon, is Theodora, who had converted multiple holy cities and therefore gains a substantial amount of combat strength from Byzantium's "Taxis" ability. However, her culture is so low that she wouldn't have reached fascism in time, so Trynda's fascist legacy policy card basically cancels out her combat bonus.
If Trynda had gone Royal Society instead of War Department, he would've definitely been able to shave a turn off of his science victory, ending with a turn 91 SV. He had Pyramids (+1 build charge on new builders) built, so builders he produced in a city with Liang (+1 build charge) with the Public Works policy card (+2 build charges) would've had 7 build charges total, completing 14% of a project every time he consumes one using Royal Society's effect. This would've let him finish the exoplanet expedition a turn sooner, allowing him to start building laser stations on turn 91 (when he unlocked them) instead of turn 92.
It's a bit of a missed opportunity since this means he could've gotten brought the science victory record down 1 turn further, but I still expect this record to stand for a while regardless.
Great vid
great video
Super excited about this. Will you be posting the full game?
If so I'll wait and watch that first. Love these condensed videos but they're spoilers for the full length!
The record wasn't set by me, but by the player Tryndaehre. If you want to see the full game, you'll have to follow the link to his channel I put to it in the description of the video.
Man exhausted all his luck on this game. Anyway amazing analysis
you were right this is your best video to date. the music is a bit loud when tryndae talks but its whatever.
This man gets more eurekas in an opnline speed game than I can manage to get on standard speed, great player.
Great video, even if it was slightly different. Enjoy your regular videos but definitely don't mind a nice video like this either.
Amazing. He played so good
He did a great job at maximizing a beautiful start what a game
New Civ 6 player here; Provision from Magnus does not have +2 Production for me, rather it has +20% Production towards Industrial Zone buildings in the City. In the BBG pack Magnus Provisions does not match as well and now I am confused :D
It was amazing. Also, I expect this record to be broken again. Further balance changes may make things easier for that to happen...
Does that double +3 cult on workshops actually work? if so the tooltip is bugged cause it only ever shows +3 even when you use the scientist twice.
Will you make video on how тр properly use trade routes in the early, mid and late game?
It's on my to-do list!
For now, just know that most of the time, players just run internal trade routes to the city with the governor Magnus for the bonus yields he grants on them until they complete the diplomatic service civic and unlock the Wisselbanken policy card (it grants +2 food and +2 production on all international trade routes sent to an ally). Afterwards, they start sending their trade routes internationally to a player they have an alliance with. There's some more complicated tech based around minmaxing the yields of trade routes, but I'll save that stuff for the video. Trade route optimization is not enough content to fill a video by itself, so I'll probably pair it together with some other mid-game tips in a video stylistically similar to my "Optimize your early game" video.
I wonder what the other players were getting up to.
herson is here
very educational vid! maybe lower the music volume especially when you are talking.
Is Carl Sagan (insta-building the Exoplanet expedition, on the same turn that the Mars project completes) normally a part of a Science Victory record?
Or does the game mod change Carl Sagan's ability?
At 24:50, on turn 87, you can see that the text "The Renaissance Era will end in 7 turns". This means that Carl Sagan would need to be recruited during the renaissance era in order to be useful. The only problem? Carl Sagan is an information era scientist, which means that he won't be made available until after all of the atomic era scientists have already been taken. Furthermore, great people become increasingly expensive the more eras into the future they're from than the current game era.
The formula for calculating the cost of a great person is as follows: Base Cost * ((1 + .3x)^x), where "x" is the number of eras into the future they're from compared to the current game era.
The base cost for an atomic era scientist with the game speed set to "online" is 480. Therefore, in the renaissance era, they cost 3290 great person points each (You can see this at 25:23 in the video). All four of them have to be recruited before Sagan has a chance of being offered. Then, since Sagan is an information era scientist, he would cost 15460 great person points on online speed when offered in the Renaissance era. Therefore, we can comfortably rule out the possibility of him ever playing a factor in a science victory record.
@@HersonCiv Thanks, that was a very helpful explanation. Bottom line - science victory happens before Carl Sagan can realistically be recruited?
@@stevenxu5747 Correct.
@@HersonCiv Okay, but let's imagine an online game where everybody (or a large majority) of players is going for a science victory. Is it fair to surmise that, in the event that the game is in a late era at the time of a player's exoplanet expedition, the lucky player who snags Sagan has a huge leg up?
ofc its fkin trynda^^
#alwaysgodspawn
Watching your videos has gotten me to wanna play Civ 6, but since i missed the steam sale and the epic games version is so bad for multiplayer i have to have fun in singleplayer instead :/
W vid
Hello fellow summoning salt fan
so question i’m curious. how much does this meta change if you play quick speed
It's slower
The music is a little too loud in the opening.
You all pronounce Yongle wrong, yall should ask Ustmip XDD
It's "Y-oh-ng (like yo followed by the ng in -ing) Luh"
Conclusion for the video: players complained
But then, Trynda got this run
It fits. Just don't make these videos too short
Nice format, love the vid. Also want to comment how insane are people in civ 6 community. Imagine wasting more than 3.5-4 hours of your day playing only ONE GAME of civ and still complaining about it being TOO FAST xddd. Could never understand. Actually wanna civ to be faster than that so more people could enjoy it and play more games per day. Not to mention that in most situation winner of the party is decided like 1-2 hours before actual end
what map is this?
Lakes
@@HersonCiv Thanks! Sorry I hadnt watched the part where you showed that yet :peeposhy:
This comment might be out of date, but I'd recommend lowering the music volume relative to your voice. It kinda walks all over you rn
duel me Herson
Duel me toilet
i feel like your music sections are a tiny tad to loud.
examples
1:10 is a bit disturbing when trying to listening to your explanation
7:46 music is louder than the guy speaking and i feel like also loude as the average video volume
Really wanna slow down the game, nerf Science/Culture overflow to only carry over for 1 turn.
I don't think that's the right step to take forward as it wouldn't change very much, and would in fact punish the people who are not top stats but coasting behind those. I think the goal should be that you can carry overflow, but only if you had been specifically focusing and working on having enough stats to do so, not a thing that everyone in the lobby can do. This can come through the form of rebalancing the price of techs and civics, not allowing FI/DNP to give an extra 10% cost, or significantly reduce the tempo of the game while allowing working specialists to become stronger, let's say double their current output(except IZ)
The more I see multiplayer Civ content the more I'm convinced that BBG isn't actually better balanced at all. It buffs an insane amount of content, rather than focusing on nerfs like it should do to make less strong civs more viable. I also think reducing the RNG in the game is a mistake since it eliminates a lot of the skill of maximising settling efficiency (who cares where you settle if you get 3/1 cities for free permanently).
Every video I now see is people going Pen Brush golden age into Free Inquiry. It's not really 'balanced' if it's literally the same choice every single game all the time is it?
I think a lot of the issue with multiplayer civ comes from playing at Online speed since it makes most early-game unique units pointless since you can just rush Science and get Musketman/Infantry etc and make things like Legions pointless super easily.
BBG is far better than base game even if it has it's issues
defending legions with infantry BasedGod
Ok extreme example I know, but I more meant Online speed making science overflow insane and therefore making early-game units basically pointless since you can just perma-overflow your way to high-level units.@@Micman-yn4cx
You couldn't be more wrong. Vanilla civ has some civs like babylon, gaul, spain or maya which are completely and insanely busted while a lot of civs are complete dogshit. BBG buffs more civs than it nerfs, but it HEAVILY nerfs some insane civs.
Imao first
No do it without cheats on vanilla
God what an awfull background music
WORST NON CIV MUSIC EVER
