Couple of large plastic bags & a band come in useful if you leave your boots on crossing low rivers . Always face the flow as well.
Love that area and grey mares tail didnt have a landslide when we were there, ospreys were nesting at top

Great video that was a spectacular water fall and what a fantastic view from the top with that Loch. That was one hard track especially with those wet feet glads you back back safely to the crib. That meal you cooked looked really good just like on the picture I bet you was ready for that after that hard slog.
Food was lush really good for a change and so glad I went back up there good day and great night 😀

So glad you made it up to beautiful Loch Skeen. I was up there last November & was so lucky to have fabulous weather for it. Yep, that first glimpse off it knocks ya socks off. Bit confused as to why you went across the river, didn’t know that the circular walk crosses the water…but it wouldn’t be the same if you didn’t get lost/lose the trail/have some kind of calamity 😂
There were a couple of trails for a loop I think I picked the wrong one tbf 😉

Stayed on the grass right next to the river in May, the river was just a trickle after weeks of good weather,, but it’s a great place to stay

You should start using your walking staff Adam , not the same as OAP walking stick . The walking staff is too test the territory in front of your next step . That way you won’t be showing us a rerun of the puddle scene in the Vicar of Dibley

Where you put kilt on at start yoir 500 yards from a dodgy set trsffic lights wgeres youd havecseen a house with nepalese flags draped round its entrance..thats me daddies house.

snugpak military poncho is a good one. got proper arms, sleeves and decent hood about 50 quid. just used mine in the Gower camping on coast during storm Agnus kept me dry as a bone! covered my rucksack as well. used a bit of para cord round the waist to stop it flipping about.

Google "Finn Creaney". Most of the old boys up here think a peat bog got him. You fall into one of those in the wrong place and you might be TH-camr number 2 to disappear up here. Careful, mate and take care.
Yes am with you on this the last video he ran out of water and this time doing water crossing s on your own I think your a hazard waiting to happen .
Really needs to invest in a GPS tracker as well might be a costly buy but it could save your life up in those mountains on your own.
It's a great spot to wild camp up there I'm glad you got to the top there is a path to the right that avoids the rapids. Really steep and hard work with all the gear.

If you need to dry out your boots stick them on top your engine when driving. Just don’t put them in the drive belts. Cheers bro.

Well Adam that was rather blustery and wet to begin with man 🤦🏻♂️. But anyway you got through it got back to the crib ok thank goodness I bet you was glad to get in the warmth of the car n get those squelchy socks n boots off.
Some cracking views again that waterfall boy that was crazy some strength to that flow. Once again all well put together we love it Adam really enjoyed it as usual also that meal looked the business too crackin mate.

So You made it back to moffat then. Unfortunately this time of year Loch skeen is in spate so the better way to cross is to go round then up the right side. Also, the path is easy to see, not sure how you went so badly wrong. You crossed the same river multiple times so you must have been zigzagging
Yeh I had that route on my app but it was an extra 3 miles so I thought the short one would be better how wrong I was
