Hey Ste! Love the video, love the tent. I do a lot of proper high winter wild camping up in northern USA with my brother yearly. I have the Vevor 5M tent and like yours it is massive! Only issues we ever encountered is that if you don't have soft ground to stake down the tent you have to get creative with guy line weights (Rocks, heavy material etc.) We spent a solid week in the tent and enjoyed every moment. I think you will have many amazing adventures in this tent during your winter and cooler months. With all the available airflow I imagine the spring and cool summer times will be great too.
One piece of advice I would give if in heavy snow and using a camp tent stove; Put logs under the stove or something that will keep in flat and level and the snow melts under it as well as keep the ground sheet safe from the heat. Also try as best as you can to clear out all snow under the tent if you are able. The snow quickly turns to ice under the tent as you heat the inside, and can make the ground under the floor slick and slippery under the material.
Fantastic review my wild camping friend! Enjoy all your many new adventures with this beauty!

Fantastic info right there, my awesome man. There are some really nice tips there, and you can be sure if we get more than 1cm of snow here in the UK, I'm gonna be using them! 😄 🤣 I wish we got snow like you guys! It would be spectacular to use this tent in them conditions. I'm pinning this comme t because the info is really helpful to others who may actually get snow! I have read about the groundsheet becoming frozen if the snow isn't cleared below. Great stuff that bud. Thanks for stopping by. Take it easy.

That tent is so awesome Ste!!!! Reminds me of my Boy Scout days (we had A-frame Woods tents, but they were heavy canvas like that one too) 🏕.
It is definitely one I would want to take for Crown Land (wild) camping here in Ontario, or a large multi-tent capable site at a Provincial Park. Admittedly, I would absolutely spend a solid week or two frontcountry camping in it in Algonquin Park and would absolutely be in heaven. Just imagining opening up the doors on that to walk out and see the wood, make some coffee and just sit there in my camp chair to enjoy the campfire and the view of the tent makes me grin from ear to ear 🥰. My only hiccup would be that I live in a condo apartment building so pitching it up to air it out would be a challenge for sure. Regardless, I think the fun to be had with a tent like that and the memories you could make with it in the woods would more than make up for it ☺.
Also loving the Winnerwell wood stove!!! 😍🤩 I would eventually like to do some winter camping with a hot stove and Winnerwell is going to be my choice when I do 👍🏻.
Looking forward to the video of the tent in use when you go camping with the fam in it!! ❤👍🏻

I would love to do a full wilderness week away in this Ste. Right near a lake. Catch and cook, and like you said, just sitting by the fire after waking up from a cracking night sleep in this beaut! The stove has some fantastic qualities as well, m8. It acts more like the fireplace at home than just a fire "if you know what I mean?" The flames really flicker! It's very nice to watch. I'm gonna struggle myself airing this monster out 😄 Take it easy buddy.

13 minutes is not bad at all! I'd love to get one like this at some point. Probably cost a fortune to ship this over here to the Midwest. Great review! 👍✌️

Yeah, at 47kg, it's bloody hefty 😄 it would cost the price of the tent in shipping. Although I know they are very reasonable with shipping, and if you use my code, that would help with the cost a bit. Take it easy buddy. Have a great weekend.

@bushcraftyste bloody hell that's some size tent ste , with all the trimmings ( ☕ ) although I'd have too view it in person before I committed to one ( being a little tall ) on your side of the fence however , it's a mansion , could of gotten a free soaking off the fire brigade had you sparked the winnerwell up 😂😂 look forward too seeing it in the Flesh 👍👌🇬🇧

Just hired a bell tent and loved them, only downside was it was really light on morning inside, liking this olive green as that should keep it dark on a morning

    love the new thumbnail Ste
I have the most obvious question that is never really answered in the reviews. Did it actually go back into its bag?
I'd love a big tent for a week camp on a camp site. But i can never really settle down to buy one .

Hey bud, how are you? I had the tent out on two consecutive days, and I'm glad to report that the tent went back into it bag with no issues! I just offered the tent up to the bag and folded it to the same dimensions, then rolled it up and slipped the bag over it. It's a great tent. Very much worth looking at. Take it easy fella.

How do you find the waterproofness now you have used it? Just got one and it seems to be wet on the inside a lot! we've not slept in it yet, as put it up to be rained on, then dry out, still wet on the inside though over night without anyone sleeping in it, so it shouldn't be condensation. when we do sleep in it the condensation is going to be worse overnight and in the morning. Just wondering on how you have found that?

    • @BushcraftWithSteOutdoors
      @BushcraftWithSteOutdoors  2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

Hey there. I'm guessing that will be a bit of condensation on the inside. I can tell you honestly I have had no issues with rain ingressing into the tent. We used this for a 3 week stint and went through all manners of weather during our time spent outdoors. We had a couple of damp panels, which is to be expected, but the more it's exposed to the elements, the tighter the canvas weave will become. Also, the tent, regardless of anyone sleeping inside, is going to be warmer than outside, so condensation will develop also. The fabric is very breathable, so it should be kept to a minimum. Hope this helps.
