PREVIOUSLY;
With the gang war at an end and the city safe once more for both civilians and super heroes, Spider Man can iinally focus on the people close to him. That includes ANNA WATSON, the aunt ot his ex (and still good friend), MARY JANE. Anna was a recipient of Krakoan medicine, which had dramatically improved her health.
Unfortunately, the anti-mutant organization ORCHIS hacked the drug to cause some who took them to go insane, including sweet, old Aunt Anna! Anna now resides in the RAVENCROFT INSTITUTE FOR THE CRIMINALLY INSANE among the worst criminals New York has ever seen.

I'm not the boy who cried woke by any means, I think it's important for media to have conversations about social issues, but the hamfisted message of "not everyone had the same opportunities as you did" is incredibly reductive and ignores the entire thesis statement of Spider-Man. It feels like what they wanted to do was juxtapose the villain's struggle, them not able to find a stable career like peter bc he had privilege and came from the middle class, but they're ignoring decades of difficulty peter had working in a menial job where he wasn't appreciated for too little pay and scraping by, all the while juggling his superhero alter ego. The villains took the easy way and used power for personal, selfish reasons. With great power comes great responsibility, and they were irresponsible. Think how much any of spideys villains can contribute to society if they wanted to. That is probably the worst take I've ever seen on the dynamic, especially when peter constantly tries to redeem his villains and be close to his community. Smh.
I feel like if they said that to someone like Tony Stark maybe that line would've worked. BUT PETER? He is the last person you wanna tell that to. And hats off to Peter for not going off on her after she said that cause me personally that would've pissed me off. This man has sacrificed so much for this city and he's rewarded with the love of his life leaving him for an NPC and refusing to sit down with him and have a serious talk. Constantly being belittled by both his so-called hero friends and his normal friends despite everything he's done for them. Struggling to have a stable job and a place to stay because the love of his life just left him high and dry. Seriously the whole story has been one big middle finger to Peter but apparently, according to her, he doesn't know what struggling is.
Exactly. Peter Parker has gone through so much even if you remove his life as Spider-Man from the equation.
-Lost BOTH of his parents at an early age
-Grew up in a low income household
-Bullied for years
-his Uncle died over his inaction
-has had his best college friend die TWICE
-Seen his aunt try her hand at love 2 more times after his uncle died only for both to die as well
-had his wife MJ be stalked
-had his goddamn body stolen
Peter is nowhere near privileged

-nick lowe about whose fault is for peter and MJ breaking up
How long is this run even going to last? When will Zeb Wells story even end? What does he even have left to tell, getting Peter and MJ back together? Sure, that may be what we want, but what is he even doing to get there if that’s the case? And he made the situation between them so bad that them getting back together doesn’t even seem remotely possible.
I was hoping for him to leave after issue 50 but some of my friends of the channel let me know that that chance is VERYYYY unlikely so yk sucks to be us. Honestly at this point if they don’t go with the suggestion I said in the video to fix everything they should just do a mini reboot

marvel acts like spiderman can't fight some of the strongest villains in marvel and they love to make peter act like some pushover even tho he can twist most people into a pretzel if he wanted to

This man beat Kingpin to the point he broke his jaw and he was dam near death's door. This man pulled up a street sign out of the ground only using one hand. Villains are genuinely afraid of him when he isn't talking or making jokes. But Zebb got him out here struggling to bet basic grunts.

Where the main character comes in and just rekts everything. Forget all the anime’s where the characters goes through hardships and actually builds themselves up and learns and grows. Nah all anime is just characters coming in and just getting stronger for absolutely no reason at all.
Well bad news zeb wells Spider-Man run is going past issue 50 sadly which is infuriating because this entire run has just been bad and garbage.

Honestly. It’s a small thing, but seeing Anna say that it was MJ’s fault was more cathartic to read that it had any write to be.
Please tell me this is an early April fools joke. There’s no way this comic is real. MJ being a superhero is one thing but their friends now. Despite everything she put him through Peter just brushed all that aside and took her back just like that.

Peter did not show signs of life until four years later. She had every right to move on with her life. She was practically no longer in a relationship with Peter, so it's not like she did it on purpose to hurt him. That is a very wrong thought and even misogynistic: blaming the woman for making you feel bad.

I learned Zeb was getting divorced when he started the run, and it's likely he used this as his catharsis. Coupled with Nick Lowe editorial fumbles more than a drunk QB, and this has been among the worst ASM has ever been.
Saw that too. He should honestly seek real help over ruining such a beloved and iconic comic series! It’s crazy how much he’s ruined in these stories just as a weird way of therapy
That's just sad and show that some writers are just using it as a way of "inadvertently" ruining their career in some ways, of you catch my drift and stuff...
So he is just another Tom King ruining an iconic character for his own therapy
I don't really like what's going on in Zeb Wells run, but i do really like the design of the Jackpot costume. It's a good design that is unfortunately connected to a not so great idea.

i am going to be honest. I cry a lot while reading comics, ESPECIALLY SPIDER-MAN comics, god knows the amount of tears I have shed on ASM 150, Death of Ultimate Spider-man, Spider-man Life Story, and Spectacular 308.
And I have cried the most during this Zeb Wells ASM run, NOT BECAUSE IT IS GOOD, but because of all the promises it has revoked and hopes it has crushed inside me as a Spider-Man fan. After the hype instilled in me from Nick Spencer's run, I can't help but feel frustration and sorrow for the state that Peter Parker, one of my favourite characters in all of fiction is in right now. Because for all intents and purposes unlike the usual Spider-man struggle , this entire run is not something he can overcome because he is as powerless as us readers as well in front of the absolute say of ZEB FKING WELLS.
I AM GONNA BE HONEST HERE, I AM ABSOLUTLY NOT THE TYPE TO WISH HARM TOWARDS ANYONE. BUT THE MORE I READ THIS RUN, THE MORE I JUST GET THESE PASSING FEELINGS INSIDE OF JUST STRANGLING HIM AND ENDING THIS ENTIRE SHTICK FOR GOOD. I just feel so powerless and disappointed in all of this.
I’m sorry man I feel the pain too. Our hero in asm is long gone with no sign of returning. He’s ruined Peter flash Norman don’t even get me started on MJ all for what!? I’m sick of wells being in charge apparently he might leave after around issue 54 here’s hoping man 😔
As long as Amazing Spiderman stay in top 5 sales every month, Marvel will not make any changes including replacing Wells. He’s going to stay on the book until he’s done telling his story.
Not really sure who’s buying these books. As shown in the photo I provided during the video my comic stores can’t even sell a single copy
@@mnstash seriously my comic store resorted to giving it away as a buy-one-get-a-free amazing Spiderman comic and even then they are struggling to sell it. That is the first time I've seen people turn down a buy-one-get-one-free deal.

The bad news man is that the amazing spider man series by zeb wells is continuing till 51,52 and 53 onwards like it should just end until 50 because of anyone not being interested buying asm as of now because of how bad the writing is currently you are right though

Another great criticism, er video. This is a dreadful run and it seems like it's getting worse which is incredible. How worse can it get? Don't underestimate Zeb Wells, LOL! Marvel/Disney/Sony are ruining "The Amazing Spider-Man" mythos. How many more times is Peter Parker/Spider-Man going to tell MJ how awesome she is as Jackpot. Give me a break! I keep asking myself why am I following "ASM" anymore. It's not like Zeb Wells is going to write good storylines any time soon.
I've accepted Peter and MJ isn't going to get back together as a couple. I wouldn't want them to anyway. Why? Their relationship is completely and utterly ruined. Felicia Hardy/The Black Cat, Spider-Gwen, and Silk are better partners for Spider-Man than Jackpot. As much as I like Silk and would have her partner with Peter to become a power couple, she's in distant third place after Felicia Hardy and Spider-Gwen.
What do we have now, Star Wars meets Spider-Man? Why not call Flint Marco Darth Sandiess? Since when does he have two personalities due to the good and bad in him,? Will he make a red lightsaber to fight against Spider-Man? Completely ludicrous. In "ASM" Peter is younger, but in the comics "The Spectacular Spider-Men" (TSSM) and "USM", Peter is older and a mentor to Miles Morales, and married to MJ with kids and struggling to determine how his powers work respectively. "USM" has Peter stepping back a bit as an older version trying to figure out how to use his powers in his 30s. I recently saw Sony developing a "Silk: Spider Society" TV show on Amazon. Why is there going to be another live-action movie or TV show without Spider-Man? Didn't "Madame Web" teach Sony/Marvel anything? I don't think the "Silk" Amazon TV show will have good ratings w/o Spider-Man in the show. Why not use the multiverse, and have a cartoon with Peter and Felicia called "The Spider-Man/Black Cat Adventures" where they're married, have kids, and are a power couple? I bring this up in many of my comments, but wouldn't that be better than "Madame Web" and "Silk: Spider Society"? I think so. How can you have a Spider Society without Spider-Man in it? it this a different take than the Marvel villains' group "The Serpent Society? What a joke!
My problem with DC and Marvel is their companies have let the big three down. Let's face it, Superman, Batman, and especially Spider-Man have all become stagnant and complacent. My main problem with Marvel regarding Peter Parker is he's never grown as a character. Peter has always been transformed into a younger version of himself and has become shorter over time. In "The Amazing Spider-Man #143" (TASM) MJ and Peter finally kiss as Peter is ready to board a plane with Robbie Robertson to go to France. Look how tall Peter is in that comic as opposed to the Zeb Wells run. Peter seems shorter than MJ and Felicia Hardy, and that's terrible. However, in this "ASM # 45 issue, Peter is taller than MJ on one of the panels. With Miles Morales in the mix, Peter is older in TSSM. I don't think ASM and TSSM are going to overlap. It seems to me that TSSM is in another universe, as it might as well be because that's how different Jonathan Hickman is from Zeb Wells regarding how they write stories. It's like a chasm.
The other issue is Peter has never been successful in his career and Marvel has gone away with Peter being a scientist. Does he have to be as successful as Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four or Tony Stark? No, but come on, after 62 years, he can't be a successful scientist. After the Superior Spider-Man run you couldn't have Parker Industries compete with Stark Industries and have Peter Parker become another Tony Stark. I understood and agreed with that, but Peter should be allowed to have a business and invent new products for his crime-fighting career as Spider-Man and be able to live comfortably supporting himself and/or his future family. Marvel will never let that happen. What employer is going to offer someone to stay with the company when they're never around and at full salary no less. This proves again how terrible Zeb Wells is as a writer and how he must live in a bubble like the way Hollywood does.
In the cartoon "Spider-Man 1967" 1st season, Peter is always developing/making new webs to defeat his enemies. Where is that aspect in the last 30 years or so in Spider-Man comics? It's almost non-existent. Especially in the Zeb Wells run. Sure he has to work for Norman Osborn and needs Kamala Khan's assistance to do a project, but that was short-lived until this terrible gang war event. Marvel can't have Peter Parker be successful on any level. In fact, Wells has to disrespect and humiliate Peter by hosting a bachelor party for Randy Robertson in Atlantic City where he has to drink water because he doesn't have any money. Give me another break! I'll say, again that Marvel/Sony/Disney will eventually replace or phase out Peter Parker/Spider-Man for Miles Morales/Spider-Man. That'll be a big mistake in my opinion, but the younger generation likes Miles Morales, so we'll see if they buy his comics, over 60 years or not, if or when Peter Parker is phased out. I don't like the direction Marvel/Disney/Sony is taking with Peter Parker/Spider-Man and the future continues to look bleak.
what makes everything 10x worse and get ready for this one... its rumoured zeb wells has recently gone thru a divorce and she left him for someone with 2 kids...sound familar?!?!? it makes so much sense it was like the last missing piece as to why he's writing mary jane to basically be mephisto reincarnated. the man (if you can even call him that anymore) is pathetic. abusing his power as the writer to trash MJ as his form of therapy is just so incredibly depressing.
@@mnstash Agreed. However, there's a great potential storyline there. This Mary Jane/Jackpot is Mephisto and he's testing Peter Parker/Spider-Man, who in some warped sense, Peter not only passes the test, he deats Mephisto with Dr. Strange's help. I believe Dr. Strange was competing against Mephisto during the Nick Spencer run. Because Mephisto is defeated, Dr, Strange negotiates the terms and one of the terms is the real MJ is released from Mephisto's realm, and MJ and Peter's marriage is reinstated. Not bad. Never will happen, but it's a possible good idea compared to the current garbage Zeb Wells writes. Cheers.

Anyway, the story is "Meh" OOC Jackpot is shoehorned in ASM again, so tired of her, Paul and her problems, she's a Goddamn Superhero now with Paul as her guide, let them rescue Aunt Anna! Peter is once-again the Amazing Milquetoast-Man! Editorial loves the Loser Teenage Peter Persona so much, wouldn't be surprised if Flash Thompson gives him an Atomic Wedgie and shoves him in a Locker!
