What a lovely video - the scenery and weather cooperated and the guest stars were delightful. Each vlog is more polished than the one before. You brought sunshine to some dark days here in the US. 💜
Thanks for giving me a boost of confidence Beth and David! It was a wonderful day spent within Alex and Hannah, and they do add another level to the videos don't they! We are happy we can bring some sunshine to you both ❤️
That video was worthy of a television production. Absolutely brilliant and beautifully filmed. The music was also superbly chosen. Well done to both of you.
Wow high praise indeed, thank you so much! I enjoyed searching for music appropriate to the time period, and also to show off Pete’s beautiful drone footage ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it Lindsey! You can see exactly why we wanted go back and do it properly this time. It’s wonderful being right in the heart of the town 😊
Another terrific vlog guys. Well done. Great use of the drone Pete. And excellent choice of music Caroline; it gave the video a real cinematic feel in places. I like the B&W stills; especially the one of One Day More coming out of the basin lock and onto the Avon. And the river is so big! All that water!...It must be a pleasure to have Alex and Hannah on board with you to share this with. And I love Pete's mouthwatering cooking...yummy. Thank you all. Cheers.
Thank you so much Neil! Its always good to hear you've enjoyed it. Pete is getting far more confident with his drone piloting now, and I love finding the perfect music to show it off! We loved having Alex and Hannah join us. Alex has been a big fan of Shakespeare since he was at high school. His English teacher in Texas loved that she had a boy in her class with a genuine English accent that actually wanted to read out loud! 😊
OMG! I can't tell you how delicious it was to spend half an hour relaxed and enjoying the respite of your cruise and tour of Stratford-on-Avon. It's *anxious* here (with a capital A) on Election Day and may be for a week to come. I may be watching and rewatching your happy smiles, gorgeous scenery and calm sanity.
I am so glad we can provide some much needed relief from what will be a very stressful few days for so many Rainey! I have the news on here keeping track of what's going on. Our daughter Sophie now lives in Wisconsin, and has never lived in a swing state before and said it's even more crazy! I will have more River Avon videos out very soon for you to stay calm 😊
We were in Texas for Brexit but kept up with everything on Sky News and BBC Radio 2. I think your situation is worse, but I think many people that voted to leave the EU didn’t think about the repercussions 😳
I have to agree with the comments already made on here, your vlogs are so professionally produced! Loved the tour around Stratford with Alex and Hannah and the quiz. The music choices were perfect too. Xx
Such a lovely tour round the exquisite Stratford - I think I learnt more on this virtual tour than when I was there myself 10 years ago. Mooring bang opposite the theatre and viewing one's boat from the theatre terrace is akin to getting the royal box. Good to see Alex again!
So glad you enjoyed it! This was quite a hard one to edit, but I was happy I found some perfect music. You really can't beat mooring right in the heart of the beautiful town, and its was so wonderful having Alex and his girlfriend join us, our Shakespeare loving boy! 😊
@@onedaymoreaboard My sister is sceptical about WS, but I totally can't relate to that. So much of his poetry has me in tears (e.g. the Macbeth end soliloquies), so much is a flight of genius (e.g. Enobarbus on Cleopatra). Having said that, I do think that Stratforders don't have to name EVERYTHING after the Bard - why not the "Ophelia Marina" (after her drowning) or the "Falstaff Marina" (after his enjoyment of the odd tipple).
You’re so right, some variety in the names would be good! I have to say, my love of Shakespeare has grown since my school days, when we were ‘made’ to read it. It’s been good to see Alex in various productions and see his love for the Bard 😊

He really is! They are both quite amazed at how our channel has grown, and more importantly, how famous our dogs are now! Alex was at a rehearsal for a new cruise contract, and they were all getting to know each other and he mentioned that his parents lived on a narrowboat, and someone asked if we had westies, and they watched us and knew our channel. He said that's when he knew we were 'famous' 😂
This was amazing to watch guys, the content and filming were superb. You never cease to deliver excellent down to earth footage on narrowboat life. The journey on the canals are spectacular as are your videos. It’s a thumbs up from me!👍❤
That’s so good to hear James, and very reassuring as it was quite a hard one to edit with so much different content to usual! I was so happy Pete got that wonderful drone footage too 😊
Omg. That was absolutely amazing and I known I say it all the time but Pete’s drone footage just gets better and better. Looks like you had a fab time with Alex and Hannah doing that trail. Alex was in his element. Did you do anything exciting when you had your little break from the boat? Only joking…..I known what you did 😜. Looking forward to the next few episodes. See you soon xx
Thank you! And yes, you're right, Pete's getting far more confident with the drone now, and I'm enjoying finding the perfect music to showcase it! It was an eventful couple of days wasn't it. See you very soon 😊
The houses on the right on the photo at 1:35 is where my grandma was born and lived (Number 6). When older her and her sister were silver service waitresses at the theatre. My grandad was a train driver lived at Blackwell in Derbyshire he used to go to Stratford on his motorbike (a 1925 Raleigh 2 sports 350) and that's where they met. I believe the houses are now owned by the Shakespeare company and used for storage / lodgings for actors. Last time I was there I asked around to see if I could go inside but no luck. Sadly my Grandma died in 1958 long before I came along so never got to meet her.
Looks like great fun. Brilliant idea to have a search of the area so well worth the money. People can learn a lot more that way than just walking around randomly---and that was absolutely the perfect mooring! Seems like a marina would be the best thing for safety if you need to leave the boat. ❤
It was such a fun day Dorothy, and made even better having Alex and Hannah there too. The treasure trail makes you really pay attention far more to what’s around you. And yes, that mooring has to be one of our favourites. I know we say we have lots of favourites though! But to be right in the heart of Stratford opposite the RSC is something very special! 😊
You’re right Dorothy. We were recently thinking about videos to put together and one was our top 10 moorings, and we were struggling to keep it to 10 😂

Fab vid! Spent a good few breaks at the ‘Arden Hotel’ opposite the RSC, and a number of Sunday lunches on the canal boat! Beautiful around the basin, lovely memories 🫡🙏👍
So good to hear you enjoyed it, and having some lovely memories of your time in beautiful Stratford! The Arden Hotel looked lovely, and I wish we had taken time to go on a dinner or lunch cruise, but at least we had Pete's gourmet meal on our own boat! 😊

Where did the new cushions come from? Perfect mooring opposite the theatre! And amazing drone footage - well done to the pilot. The river Avon looks so picturesque and peaceful - have fun.
Hi Swanny! We ordered the cushions at the Crick Boat Show from 3Element. Pete's becoming more and more confident with the drone now, and I just have to find the perfect music to show it off! The Avon was beautiful! I can imagine you cruising down there in your widebeam one day 😊

Sophie said it had cooled down a lot too Spinner! They had hoped to go to a corn maize at the weekend but it was cold and raining so they gave it a miss, which was sad as it was the last day it was open! Thanks for you kind words every time, they always put a smile on our faces 😊

So excited to show you our footage from Sharpness, especially the Purton Hulks. Pete got some wonderful drone footage and the evening light was just beautiful for some dramatic photos. We will definitely be heading back down your way again to explore a little more. We were in a bit of a rush to get off the Severn before the river went into flood and we just about managed it! 😊

@onedaymoreaboard ohh lovely. Never been on saga. Been on P&O, Celebrity and Cunard. What a fantastic job. Pleased your spending quality time together. X
We have never been on a Saga Cruise either, just Carnival and Royal Caribbean, but now Alex has worked for them for long enough to qualify for a family discount we are hoping to make it work next year while he is on board! 😊
Thank you! Alex has been on the stage quite a bit in the USA before he moved back to the UK, but he quite often gets comments about looking like Eddie Redmayne, especially with his English accent in America! 😊

Also Caroline, the music you picked was truly perfect. OK gotta go cause I don’t feel like having steak. 🤓
They certainly add a little extra to the videos and it’s lovely to spend time with them before they head off on their next cruise contract. Love that we can take you along for our tour of Stratford , it was such a fun day! Pete will tell you how much I agonised over the music for this video, asking him if tracks sounded Shakespearean enough 😂
Do you remember a song "Just messing about on the river" Josh Macrae I think you could a very nice travel bit in your vlog with that song. No one has done it would you get in truble if you did please ?
That would be the perfect music Mike, and I've just checked the very extensive music library that I subscribe to, but sadly its not there. TH-cam is so hot on copyright and it's not worth the risk using copyrighted material. I can get away with a few seconds, but anything longer and there's a copyright claim on your channel. Thankfully I've only had that happen once, when I featured a choir singing, and there was a claim, and I had to switch out the music. Thanks for watching 😊
Love your channel! But I thought the seagull comment was funny. I live in saskatchewan in canada, over a thousand miles to any ocean, and we have millions of them everywhere. (Although Sask has the most number lakes of any province or state in the world)
Wow they are definitely a long way from the sea! It's quite usual to see seagulls so far inland here. I guess the lakes are so huge they are like the ocean anyway. I've just come back from visiting our daughter in Wisconsin and the lakes there were just stunning! Thanks for watching, it's always lovely to hear that viewers are enjoying the videos 😊
That could be the plan, but we really haven’t decided yet. Our plans change daily! We are trying to stop at places we missed when we were here 2 years ago but also making sure we return to our favourites! 😊
Does Alex do any acting? Did Pete cook when you lived here in Houston? Ppppy looked a little insulted when hou csutooned her not to mess up the cushions. Wish us luck her stateside on this election day, frought with anxiety. Leigh
Alex has a Musical Theatre degree Leigh, and has also done many straight plays too, his very first one being Shakespeare’s The Tempest, aged 15. He was also in Much Ado About Nothing in the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival after graduation. So you can see how excited he was to be in Shakespeare’s birthplace! His girlfriend Hannah is a dancer, and they both started rehearsals today for their next cruise contract in the production cast. Pete was a huge fan of grilling and smoking when we lived in Texas. He really embraced his Texan side! Poppy was funny when I telling her to look after the new cushions wasn’t she! They have proved so much easier to keep clean, just wiping them down. Wishing you a sensible outcome for this election. Sophie is in Wisconsin and said it’s very odd and even more crazy being in a swing state! We will be watching the news avidly 😊

You Guys heading up to Llangollen for Chrimbo or doing your own thing? Viva la Veda 😎
That could be the plan, but we really haven’t decided yet. Our plans change daily! We are trying to stop at places we missed when we were here 2 years ago but also making sure we return to our favourites! 😊
@@onedaymoreaboard I don’t blame you.👍🏼
🤠👍👍
Thanks for watching Marty 😊
