Great video, superb quality and the content reflects what must have been a lot of rigorous research. Without doubt one of the very best tourist information films I have ever seen.
My wife and I spent 2 weeks in Bath for our anniversary April 2022. When it was time to fly home to the US I tested positive for Covid (no symptoms, no cough) and I had to stay an additional week before my test was clear. Not knowing the area I looked for a town to stay where hotel rates were affordable. I found Stratford Upon Avon. By then the UK government NHS rules said you only had to quarantine if you were symptomatic. I was really glad I stumbled upon this town as it was a very pleasant place to stay. Also it was fairly near Warwick Castle, a great place to visit.
Shakespeare himself could not have done a better tour of his hometown. It was marvelous, the narration and visual images were both worthy of the Bard. Thank you for showing us the town
@@MemorySeekersThank's for your heart, I'm not an English speaker person, I'm still struggling with your language 🙈😹 but I do know a thing or two about this beautiful and lovely town. But I must add that loved your work and other videos. Thank's for your hard work 💖

We've been here. My mother-in-law is a fan of Shakespeare so when she visited us here she requested to go here. We enjoyed that market. Garrick Inn yeah I remembered that place.
Hi Simon and Will. So glad you’re back in the UK! It was great learning about the man himself, (Sir?) William Shakespeare and the beautiful town of Stratford Upon Avon. The architecture/rooflines of some of these houses and buildings were nothing short of amazing. To be honest, so was that Hobson’s Giant Scone. 😂😋 I wanted that! I love that the UK is focused on the preservation of its history and that you both share this love and appreciation of these wonderful places with us. Enjoy next weekend off! Looking forward to the following Saturday. Take care til then. ❤🇨🇦🇬🇧
Thank you Jill, so glad you enjoyed it. William Shakespeare was never knighted, why I could not say but he should have been! We are lucky to have the preservation we do.
What a jam-packed tour! This was such a treat for me! On our trip to the UK many years ago, my husband and I stopped in on our way back to my Father's cousin's home in Berkshire, after a long day out at Warwick Castle. It was almost dark and raining, and the older folks were too tired to get out of the car by the time we arrived in Stratford, so we ran from the car park to see Shakespeare's home from under dripping umbrellas. This sunny day visit was like a dream. I love how so many original furnishings (or at least period appropriate items) have been set up so visitors can more easily imagine what life was like during the times. Here in San Diego we have a quite famous Old Globe Theater. The original replica was built in 1937 as part of the California Pacific Expo, but sadly was lost to an arson fire in 1978. It was rebuilt and the complex expanded to include an outdoor stage. A 1950s styled "Merry Wives of Windsor" is a current offering. Isn't is amazing how one man could influence the world for centuries? Great job, guys! :)

A round of applause from a Canadian namesake town: Stratford in Ontario! I have scholarly friends at the Birthplace Trust, and I've visited many times over the years. I last stayed at The Townhouse directly over the road from the Guildhall. Apparently, it's one of Judi Dench's favourites.

It is very pleasant in the evenings. Of course, just like anywhere the pubs are rowdy but many of the streets like Hemley become deserted and you can really enjoy them almost on your own. We certainly did. Hope you book, such a nice place.
We visited Dartmouth back in March but sadly the weather was so bad with wind rain and low fog we have to abandon filming the weekend as it just wasn't possible. One to rebook! St Ives and cornwall in general is not a place we have filmed yet. One still on the list for one day.

Absolutely lovely video! But one small note: at the beginning of the video you say that Shakespeare was born in 1654. You transposed two numbers. He was born in 1564.
Yes I had it written done in the script correctly but as a recorded the voiceover said it the wrong way round and never noticed 🫠 until you spotted it.
Doesn't appear to have gone backwards as a tourist trap since I was lucky enough to spend a few days here over 30 years ago. 😉 Can't fault the old half-timbered buildings though! Something that always strikes a chord with our ancient Hun ancestry. 😊
Yes I know, I just read off my script the wrong way round and never noticed. I put a correction in the first comment a day after the video was released. I’m glad you were listening 👂 😊
Annoying when you spend so much time checking what you are saying and scripting and then make a silly mistake when recording the voiceover. It was all correct in the script. I’ve played that video back so many times before finishing it and never picked up on it.
William Shakespeare belongs not only to England cas of his birth there, like our Pushkin or Dostoevsky, belongs to the whole world , every person reading his immoral plays enjoys his talent and understanding of people and life

thank you! please do leamington spa, i miss being there:)
We do have it on our list!
Good Day , New subscriber here ❤
I have been there twice🎉
Slight mistake in the voice over: William Shakespeare was born in 1564, not 1654.
Yes a very annoying mistake that I didn't pick up on. Had it written down correctly just my brain muddled it up when spoken for the voiceover!
And he said hemley street instead of HENLEY
Nice ❤❤🎩🥰👍⚘🌺
Like👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Shakespeare's year of birth is mentioned as 1654 instead of 1564
Yes I had it written down right for the voiceover and said it wrong and never noticed!
Doesn't appear to have gone backwards as a tourist trap since I was lucky enough to spend a few days here over 30 years ago. 😉
Can't fault the old half-timbered buildings though! Something that always strikes a chord with our ancient Hun ancestry. 😊
Thanks. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent video, but William Shakespeare was born 100 years before the date stated in the video, it was 1564!
Yes I know, I just read off my script the wrong way round and never noticed. I put a correction in the first comment a day after the video was released. I’m glad you were listening 👂 😊
West Country builders weren't so hot on foundations in the 14th century.
Can you do southampton and kew gardens please
Noted we have them on the list, not sure when we will get to them. We do have a bit of Southampton on our Jane Austen life video.
THE SERIES ( IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY ) IS CALLED SHAKESPEARE AND HATHAWAY ✌🏻👍🏻🔥💥🏴💖💖💖💖💖💖💖

Stratford-upon-Avon: Tracing Shakespeare’s Early and Late Years
❤❤❤💐👍🏻🤩
Quisiera saber porqué , hay casas que tienen un techo redondo .
Gracias
👍😊
April 23 1564😂 Shakespeare birth date 😅
Annoying when you spend so much time checking what you are saying and scripting and then make a silly mistake when recording the voiceover. It was all correct in the script. I’ve played that video back so many times before finishing it and never picked up on it.
William Shakespeare belongs not only to England cas of his birth there, like our Pushkin or Dostoevsky, belongs to the whole world , every person reading his immoral plays enjoys his talent and understanding of people and life
