- Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the hit series "The Chosen," talks about the intimidating and rewarding aspects of his work on the show, what fans can expect in season three, as well as his role in the forthcoming Christian movie "Jesus Revolution."
The first two episodes of season three of "The Chosen" will debut back-to-back in theaters Nov. 18.

I have to admit - I'm 37, been looking for work, was torn from the inside, had been feeling pathetic. Thanks to the internet access I stumbled upon a video of Jesus meeting the Samaritan woman near the well. I started watching the story and in the last week I have witnessed a massive transformation. I feel so blessed, I started reading the Bible again, I got back to believe, I have started feeling much more hopeful, and most importantly I feel that there is a stronger purpose in life.
I'm still looking for a work opportunity but I am not feeling sad or pathetic anymore. Praise the Lord.

So cool to hear Shivin. I´ve been on a spiritual new age path for more than 15 Years. The last 10 Years i felt more "of the track" day by day, until i discovered The Cosen. I am finding my way back to God and Jesus slowly but with a sense of inner peace. I missed this inner peace the last 15 Years. God bless.
I'm old enough to have seen dozens of portrayals of Jesus in my life. Roumie is the best I've seen, perhaps because of his faith and because now is the right time for a global series on this narrative and truth. Times are dark, and The Chosen is a spiritual light.

God USED this show to heal me of blood pressure. I was watching the episode of Jesus healing the woman with the issue of blood. .. that was when I received my healing. Praise God my blood pressure is normal. Gift from Nigeria.

His perspective. There is no his perspective the only perspective is the bible. You can not protect pride and believe in the bible at the same time then you are acting just like the pharisees, just putting on a show.
Very humble guy 👍🏻, I pray he continues to be humble in life and that God blesses him for many more seasons.
Actors play a role, but this man has made God in human form feel the most human and relatable than the others. The face of Jesus you'd like to see. Builds the fervor to seek Him.

I haven't watched the entirety of the chosen - still in season 1. I will say, his scene with Mary in the very first episode...it spoke so close to home. I cry every single time I watch it, doesn't even matter which episode. I don't know anything about these actors in real life, but they do a fantastic job for this show. It's amazing.
I've watched both seasons more than once. There are some things I missed each time, so it got better and better. I'm going to the Season 3 opener tomorrow at the theater. Can't wait.

I do not believe you can represent something so massive like jesus as an actor without having a strong faith jesus himself. Hes phenominal. Brings such a human feel, but at the same time, strong role of jesus. Any tv show/movie gets views. Very very few permanently changes millions of peoples lives and draws them to god, as this show has done for me.
I read God's Word daily, but when the world is smacking hard....i cuddle up in Abba Daddy's lap and watch the Chosen! Am starting to hear Jon's voice when i read the gospels lol

I have prayed many times for Gods discernment if it’s okay to watch, and never gotten negative feedback or feelings from the Lord….The Chosen is Christian entertainment period, so just ENJOY ! Jesus Revolution movie takes place during an important part of American spiritual revival in the hippie movement, those kids were called Jesus Freaks., Life Magazine had a cover photo of hippie kids bring baptized. Jews for Jesus was also birthed in that era.. Alot of kids went from LSD to being on fire for The Lord. The Chosen plays an important role today, and they are trying to reach the youth of today, but this generation needs to open their hearts and minds to the things of God. They need a revival in this day.

The part which made me weep is when Jesus was with children. The little girl who first encountered him and jesus not tell anyone,,, but she brought in all her friends... That was really great on how he discussed the word with the kids.. thanks the chosen.. we bless God for you.
The show has changed the perception of Jesus for a countless number of people, both Christian and not yet Christian. People who would never go into a church... and not all churches portray Him as loving and forgiving. We learn things about culture, the Roman occupation, the religious leaders, of the day. There is nothing about this show that hasn't been carefully and lovingly designed to draw people into knowing Him better.

We just got to see the first two episodes of season 3 last night, and.....WOW!!! There is no wonder that he gets overwhelmed- his portrayal of The Christ is something just not seen before- If Jesus doesn't work through Jonathan, then grass isn't green, the sky isn't blue, and birds don't sing. If you haven't seen this series as of yet, you must see it- the emotions, the different personalities, the lives of the people of the Bible come to life and make you want to learn more- to pick up your Bible and take in what God has offered all of us. This man, the other amazing actors, and of course the creators and all that work to put this together do this- but Jonathan pulls you in- you just want to know Jesus, and it's the most incredible thing.
Thats right God does it all and we are His hands and feet.
After watching Jonathan potrayal of Jesus in such a supernatural ways, I don't think I can watch any other Man who will act as Jesus. God chose this man to Play the role. Its a pretty Big shoes to fill and only God made it possible by choosing Jonathan. Praise God that His message comes to life in this episode

I agree, you're not responsible, but you do have a responsibility and you carry it very well. I like so many others have put your face on my Jesus in my mind. When I need to deal with something difficult I imagine some of the expressions that you have in the manner in way you deal with people on this show. It gave me a different perspective and how Jesus sees me in my own spiritual life. Help me to realize the love. This show and the way you play this part will always be near and dear to my heart.
The chosen has gotten me closer to God I been away from the church ⛪️ for almost 8yrs but it’s shows like this the dedication the cast and crew and amazing director Dallas Jenkins have done that has me motivated to get back into prayer 🙏 Jonathan done a amazing job with the prayer app Hallow I use it every night to pray 🙏
Even though this is only a show depicting the life of Jesus, it will be extremely difficult watching what is to come. We aren't even to the point where the disciples even know. Sir, you are doing an incredible job, as are your fellow actors.

Oh this is the best ever show!! But we are going crazy for Friday to get here to see the beginning of season 3 😁 also praying season 4 will run closely behind without the long long wait. I will even be getting it on DVD. I had it but now want the special edition. This series you can watch over and over and be inspired each time. I know and believe God's hand is in every minute of this series in the making of it. Hopefully the crucifixion scene will be delayed, because it will make the series last and last longer. Kinda wish they could do an episode on Jesus growing up as a child. I know the only biblical part is Jesus at age 12, but would still like to see it

The beauty of The Chosen is that it's as reliable an interpretation of scripture as any, framed in a medium that makes it accessible and digestible to EVERYONE. There are aspects of the bible that feel unrighteous, and make us question its authenticity, and then one line in the show adds perspective, like, "Yes, and that's its purpose, to challenge and redefine your faith. Because, what is faith if it all comes from a book? So you find flaws, which force you to recognize that the truth you connected with is greater than the page it was written on, and cannot be undermined by the next page." I know that's not in the show exactly, but similar revelations are and I'm very grateful for them. Thank you!

I love his humbleness and ability to discern the role from the actual. Prayer life is essential to knowing the Lord, I'm working on it! I am feeling that Jesus is coming soon. Maybe even before the 7th season!

This season’s episodes contain two scenes that are overwhelmingly spiritual and influencing. The scene with Little James talking about his disability and scene with the woman who touched the fringe of his clothing to be healed are watched over and over again in my house.
