This is strange of me, but I am dreading Season 5 of The Chosen. I don’t want to see Jesus go through what I know is coming. In my head I know it is Jonathan the actor, of course; I expect it will be physically, emotionally, and spiritually taxing for him. I cried like a baby when I saw The Passion of the Christ. You know the real thing must have been even more horrific. I just love the Lord so much.
Many actors were able to portray beautifully the Jesus-God, with a special nod to Jim Caviziel. But Jonathan Roumie was the actor that was also able to fully capture the Jesus-man. May God bless your mission!

My daughter made the comment that the name of the show is The Chosen and you have very well been a chosen vessel to touch and open the eyes of thousands upon thousands of souls through your work. Yet at the same time you also must carry this very heavy cross. With Jesus. That's actually a very lovely gift if we can understand the magnanimity of suffering. There is no glory without the cross. Don't forget the brief time in this world and remember to God's chosen there will one day be perfect, complete, never-ending, joy and fulfillment . Bro, I love The Chosen. Truly I say to you, I have never been so invested in a Christian program. The message is on point, the comedy is on point is hilarious, Jesus is portrayed beautifully, and many other praises I can grant.
I laughed hard at the part where the Lord said "Too soon?" after healing that bandit with the broken leg!! That was great! Also, when He said "Big James and Little James. It can be your thing!"
My favorite part about Jonathan's portrayal of our Savior is how he conveys His mercy. I'm thinking of the scenes where Jesus heals both the leper and the bleeding woman. The way Jonathan interprets Jesus' understanding of their suffering, and then fully offers His willingness to heal them, is overwhelming. His face...the agape love and mercy, just reduce me to tears every time I watch it. We were all that leper before Christ...unclean and helpless. I saw Jonathan reciting the powerful Divine Mercy Chaplet somewhere on a video before and it makes sense that he is so in tune with how much we all need that mercy (for the sake of His sorrowful passion...).
So for the longest time I had not watched The Chosen. And every time I would be on TH-cam this guy kept popping up asking us to pray with him and talking about the Hallow app… Now that I have watched The Chosen (this past month) I am such a fan of the show, and the man that played the most important man in my life! May the Lord bless and keep you both 🙏🏽✝️

After thinking about this a bit more….what I see in the comments - is both Catholics and non-Catholics defending their faith and beliefs. One side is being told their faith is not the true faith - one comment said - there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. So that side responds back with either questions or complaints about being told their faith is meaningless, but my faith is true - and found by Jesus himself. He’s a very good mimic, which he says helped his portrayal of Bobby Jones (he watched a lot of footage of Jones playing golf and did his very best to imitate how Jones moved when he played).
The chosen helped change my life I have learned so much, helps me understand the Bible better ,if it hadn't been free I wouldn't of got to watch, God bless those who make it possible for everyone to see what it might of been like then and to help picture Jesus on earth like us . I’m getting confused, some people are saying that the shirt’s statement is disrespectful because it can divide other Christians, if he believes in the statement and another person disagrees with it, and get offended by it, then is that not the one doing the dividing?! To make it simpler If one chose not to believe in the truth of God’s own Word in the first place then they have chosen to be divided. Because God never lies and wouldn’t proclaim something that isn’t truth. A choice has been already made long ago before this sentence was even placed on the shirt. And just because there is disagreement doesn’t mean that there cannot be mutual respect for each person’s decision, we can still get along!
His speech at the National Eucharistic Congress was amazing. Reading the bread of life discourse as Jesus was very moving. But Jonathan describing the celebrity experience of playing Jesus sounds a bit like the Gospel accounts where Jesus couldn't go anywhere without crushing crowds surrounding him.
Love The Chosen. I watch each season over and over. Love all the cast, especially Jonathan's Jesus but Matthew is my fav discipline. Thanks for the interview.

I live in Indianapolis and was so excited when I heard you would be at the Eucharistic Congress that unfortunately I was unable to attend, but I did hear your talk on TH-cam and it was marvelous. I pray the rosary often with you on Hallow and I always say "and peace be with you too, Jonathan". I know the Holy Spirit has the power to make it known to you that we all wish this for you.
a word for Jonathan that I hope it helps, the Holy Spirit, Jesus himself will guide you through that life of fame, he will equip you with the necessary wisdom to tackle any given problem or situation that you might run into in life. Also, it is good that you suffer throughout this process keeping in mind that Jesus was the man of sorrows and I know and you know that sorrow comes from the things that don’t necessarily go our way or want to happen in a certain way but He is building it up in you so that you can relate more and more to the real Jesus and to come to a certain grasp of how it truly was to be Jesus and it will help you to portray Him to the screen more accurately because the Holy Spirit will carry you through these trials since the real Jesus had the most of them. The Chosen is very special because normally the greatest story ever told is produced in the format of a movie. But as a TV series, more time is dedicated to the finer points of the New Testament.

I would say that the type of celebrity that he is is extraordinarily unique. I mean he plays the founder of our religion, God on Earth, the greatest man to ever live, the most influential human had ever lived. Jesus has had such a profound effect on so many people Dad goes way deeper than just physical. So it's not like anyone has been affected by Jack Nicholson the way they've been affected by Jesus. I'm sure it's pretty heavy. He's doing an amazing job and in my opinion this is the greatest telling of jesus's story after that's ever been. It really makes you realize the man aspect of him.
I think Jonathan must feel sometimes lonely, but this is the price to come into another spiritual room. It is more about spirituallity then acting or being famous.
Jonathan representation of,Our Lord, is more humane, earthen, friendly, close, and gives a lot of context to understand better the scriptures. Glory to God. This also goes to all the actors.
God works his ways into people’s hearts in the strangest ways we could never predict. Tv, film, even doctors, detectives, and other personal accounts all valid and all true. The world is a strange place.
Jim Caviezel and Ted Neely, both of whom played our Lord Jesus in movies, have had deeply transformed lives also. Robert Powell, I don't honestly know. God bless everyone.

I can't wait to see the rest of this interview. I was at the Hallow Conference in Steubenville which is probably when Jonathan did this interview. Matt, it was great seeing you there also.
As Jonathan talked about wanting a mentor and never really having one it made me think of similar times in my life and how the Lord used them to help me lean into Him alone and not pastors, mentors, articles, etc

The chosen helped change my life I have learned so much, helps me understand the Bible better ,if it hadn't been free I wouldn't of got to watch, God bless those who make it possible for everyone to see what it might of been like then and to help picture Jesus on earth like us . Been watching since 1st episode. Every actor that plays in this show is so committed to it wondering work, @Jonathan Roumie is my my favorite actor.

I’m getting confused, some people are saying that the shirt’s statement is disrespectful because it can divide other Christians, if he believes in the statement and another person disagrees with it, and get offended by it, then is that not the one doing the dividing?! To make it simpler If one chose not to believe in the truth of God’s own Word in the first place then they have chosen to be divided. Because God never lies and wouldn’t proclaim something that isn’t truth. A choice has been already made long ago before this sentence was even placed on the shirt. And just because there is disagreement doesn’t mean that there cannot be mutual respect for each person’s decision, we can still get along!

The best Jesus was... Jesus. Never forget, it's not a contest.
His speech at the National Eucharistic Congress was amazing. Reading the bread of life discourse as Jesus was very moving. But Jonathan describing the celebrity experience of playing Jesus sounds a bit like the Gospel accounts where Jesus couldn't go anywhere without crushing crowds surrounding him.
Love The Chosen. I watch each season over and over. Love all the cast, especially Jonathan's Jesus but Matthew is my fav discipline. Thanks for the interview.

Dearest Jonathan, I wish I knew how to contact you directly, because this 67-year-old Catholic woman tries to not react like the 14-year-old girl who met Donny Osmond back in the day every time I see you pop up on social media. I live in Indianapolis and was so excited when I heard you would be at the Eucharistic Congress that unfortunately I was unable to attend, but I did hear your talk on TH-cam and it was marvelous. I pray the rosary often with you on Hallow and I always say "and peace be with you too, Jonathan". I know the Holy Spirit has the power to make it known to you that we all wish this for you.
a word for Jonathan that I hope it helps, the Holy Spirit, Jesus himself will guide you through that life of fame, he will equip you with the necessary wisdom to tackle any given problem or situation that you might run into in life. Also, it is good that you suffer throughout this process keeping in mind that Jesus was the man of sorrows and I know and you know that sorrow comes from the things that don’t necessarily go our way or want to happen in a certain way but He is building it up in you so that you can relate more and more to the real Jesus and to come to a certain grasp of how it truly was to be Jesus and it will help you to portray Him to the screen more accurately because the Holy Spirit will carry you through these trials since the real Jesus had the most of them. He will lead you through it brother. God bless you and may the Lord grant you strength to overcome it all in Jesus name. ✝️

I would say that the type of celebrity that he is is extraordinarily unique. I mean he plays the founder of our religion, God on Earth, the greatest man to ever live, the most influential human had ever lived. Jesus has had such a profound effect on so many people Dad goes way deeper than just physical. So it's not like anyone has been affected by Jack Nicholson the way they've been affected by Jesus. I'm sure it's pretty heavy. He's doing an amazing job and in my opinion this is the greatest telling of jesus's story after that's ever been. It really makes you realize the man aspect of him.
I hope he doesn't get pidgeon-holed as "Oh, you're Jesus. Yeah, this role isn't for Jesus."
I think Jonathan must feel sometimes lonely, but this is the price to come into another spiritual room. It is more about spirituallity then acting or being famous.
Jonathan representation of,Our Lord, is more humane, earthen, friendly, close, and gives a lot of context to understand better the scriptures. Glory to God. This also goes to all the actors.
God works his ways into people’s hearts in the strangest ways we could never predict. Tv, film, even doctors, detectives, and other personal accounts all valid and all true. The world is a strange place.

This took me back a little bit because I saw an interview with Jonathan was talking about meeting a celebrity that he liked and how he was disappointed with the comment that the celebrity made and hearing him say that he’s overwhelmed by someone saying hello to him it’s kind of a letdown in a way
