'I Can't Tell My Acting Journey Without Jesus': 'Chosen' Star Says Show Is 'Life-Changing' for Her

- Lara Silva plays "Eden," the wife of Simon-Peter, in "The Chosen." She sat down with CBN's Faithwire to discuss her own journey to Christianity, how the show has changed and challenged her faith, and the meaning behind her life Bible verse, Proverbs 16:9.
She also talked about what fans of "The Chosen" can expect in season three. The first two episodes of the third season are set to debut back-to-back in theaters beginning Nov. 18, before moving to the show's free streaming platform soon thereafter.

Lara plays a perfect Edan. I truly enjoy her character. She isn't a pushover and holds Simon accountable. She is strong in her faith and family and loyal in her duties at the home and marriage. This series has absolutely changed my life and mindset and strengthened my relationship with God and Jesus. It is helping hold me accountable and helping paint the BIG picture. Watch it and Grow in everything!!!

I love listening to Lara speak of her faith journey and how it's all part of her work/career as well. Such an important message for the younger generations especially! Once you know and love the Lord, He leads your life decisions (or should). All we need to do is surrender and trust. Lara is perfect as Eden. Can't wait for S3!
She, in that role; the moment I saw her she made every sense in the world. Her heart, her modest beauty, her strength and sense of humor, her wisdom and honesty. She is is perfectly cast as any role I’ve seen. Will be praying for her. She is one of many incredible gifts to The Chosen.

Eden is one of my favorite characters in the show. I cried when I watched the scene where she reacts to her husband deciding to follow Jesus.

Love her explanation of how Christ sees women. Equally important with different roles than men. The Jewish culture at the time of Christ minimized women. That the first person he appeared to after his resurrection was a woman speaks to his reverence for women.
I love Eden, she is a woman of God, a strong wife who speak her mind in a respectful way when she interact with Simon. Lara Silva is great on the show and I am looking forward to what they have planned for Eden this season.

Lara is so genuine when she talks about her journey and her faith and where she is with it. She seems to be a "Baby" Christian still seeking to know more about Jesus, about God and maybe along the way she will learn more about the Holy Spirit as well. She still knows she is vulnerable but knows that she can lean on Christ (via The Holy Spirit) to help lead her and guide her through her daily walk with God. You are not alone in dealing with the emotions involved in the parts you are playing; we are with you as well in experiencing them too. God is using you to touch other hearts so they can also hunger for the relationship with our maker.

What I like about the Chosen is it is a collective effort from all the cast. Faith is reinforced by numbers and spontaneity of a sacred story. The role of the women in this parable is profound as well as the role of the mother. We are guided by positive role models towards a sanctuary without personal ego and the associated shroud of darkness. Bless those involved in the Chosen and all those who continue with the work of education and sacrifice towards a final truth of our mission. It was never going to be easy as we are seduced by personal interest. I leave the earthly realm knowing that faith in others is strong.

My wife and I related so much to the struggle Eden was having with her miscarriage and infertility as it’s something we struggled with for years. I was so accurate of how women struggle on their own with that grief and husbands can be pretty clueless about the suffering of our wives. It was beautifully done. Can’t wait to see how that trial goes for Eden.

One of the things I love most about Lara's role as Eden is how she quietly serves. This is the Gospel. It it humble, kind and puts others first. She is helping tell the story of Jesus more than she knows.

I liked how Eden held her husband Simon to task and consequence when he was shirking his religious duties as well as getting into scrapes with the Romans. Like any good Atlanta woman she faced in on him and solidly held him to account : "YOU FIX THIS" "YOU MUST BE RESPONSIBLE!"

Every time I watch the show everything comes to life. It's almost like getting saved all over again. I know I'm not getting saved again but my desire to go deeper with Christ is always very strong during watching the show. It is for such a time as this so many need to see a Christ that is relevant and true to scripture. Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. I'm thankful Mr Jenkins was denied by Hollywood again "for such a time as this". Wonderful job young lady all the actors and actresses are definitely anointed.
