I love how one of the hosts was like, "you could have fun with that." (Referring to him acting as Jesus to random people) and he said, "yeah but I'd have to answer for that later." Good for him, he handled it well.
I'm extremely happy that Jonathan didn't allow follow Joy to make scripture mean something it doesn't mean... He paused and kept the scene in the context of Scripture!!! Very well and God bless him!

My son and I were in a Target store to buy some ice cream today, near Dallas Texas, when we saw Jonathan in an aisle there. He was very polite when I approached him to ask if he was the actor who plays Jesus on the Chosen. He smiled and said, "Yes I am."
I know he's not Jesus, and I was so thrilled to meet this
handsome actor in person.
It was the highlight of our day.

Might also do those women some good to research the women Saints. Women are just as important to God’s ministry as men are and are very powerful. There are so many women that have been able to serve God to the fullest.

I'm watching it now because of the interview and enjoying it so much I wanted to relisten to his interview and am really, really surprised to see how "shocked" & "surprised" people are that he was treated well during the interview. Of course he was! Just the same as all their guests. His story was well received because it was wonderful to hear.

I have to admit, in some light hearted but sincere way, I was hoping Whoppi would sing, "I will follow him, follow him wherever he may go..." like she did in Sister Act. Yes, I know it will be too distracting from the interview but I was happy how Jonathan presented himself in the view as a humble actor portraying Jesus, and Whoppi's respect to him. That kind of moment would have been very memorable to me!

We are beginning to see and hear a lot of support for this and a lot of people taking the time to give thanks to Jesus whenever they have the opportunity. Many in sports especially. I believe we are seeing the beginning of a movement, a revival.

As a born again Christian who has the same relationship with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, you just know when someone is saved. But to hear them say it, how they got saved, gets you every time. I can remember the day, the moment, the hour that I surrendered to Jesus... I was in the armed services during Vietnam and about to go in the showers and a friend convinced me that Jesus loved M E personally, I ran to the showers to get out of the way and bawled my eyes out saying 'Please forgive me Lord' and He literally wrapped His arms around me, it was an amazing experience that I can recall in such clarity to this day... Thank You Lord!

Jonathan is Catholic, yes, very faithful Catholic, and The Chosen have no teachers, they have consultant: one Catholic Priest, one Evangelical Pastor and one Messianic Jewish, I watched many rounded table with them and saw not heresy, only different point of view about Christianism. Maybe you need to research more...

Our family is a huge fan of The Chosen! I discovered the show after season 2 was released at one of the lowest and challenging points in my life. Later, I had the opportunity to cover the series as a news reporter on multiple occasions from their new set in Midlothian, Texas. Being there alongside 5,000+ extras for the filming of the feeding of the 5,000 will be a memory that stays with me for a very long time. This show and the way the characters relate to you on a human level is so unique and I recommend it to everyone I can. I can't wait to see Season 4 in theaters in a few days!!!

That’s offensive to the Holy Spirit, these men are antichrist, who think Mormons and Catholics are actualy Christian’s, and tv shows are fleshly and bring in division within the body of Christ and cause confusion by changing the image of Jesus and bring in lies and the actors have attacked the true church and sided with the LGBT group. Just started watching the series, it’s totally fabulous, because I believe Jesus character was like the way it is portrayed in this series. He is compassionate,loving, caring, told jokes, attended weddings, but stern when necessary. We love him because he first loved us.

I really enjoy watching The Chosen, and I think it opens the door for people to talk about faith. If you haven't seen it, give it a watch and keep an open mind. . We should be able to at least talk about issues of God and faith without throwing rocks at each other. Nice that The View featured this.
Jonathan's testimony is so amazing. Loved this interview...God was truly glorified
Going on a show like the View concerned me because I am not a fan of many of the things those women say and do. But Jonathan gave his own testimony for many to hear and it was beautiful to see that! God is good and He can reach people even on The View. I pray this helps bring more people to the real Christ.

The authentic Jesus of scripture was full of compassion, holiness, and justice. He healed the sick, challenged hypocrisy, and called sin for what it is, a death sentence. And most importantly He conquered sin and death on the cross and told the world, "I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to Father but by me" (John 14:6). That's why the bible says enter through the narrow gate. Small is the gate and narrow is the road that leads to everlasting life. Only a few find it. (Matthew 7:12-14). It's not about "love is love". Do whatever feels right. Jesus spoke the truth in love. In other words, deny yourself and follow me.

8:00 the lady almost tries to make what Jesus was saying into something woke, and I'm happy Jonathan articulately answers that question in a way that is true to God's nature and focus, which is less about speaking up for the marginalised (that whole 'marginalisation' talk can go down a very slippery slope and turn very woke), and more about God's just and holy nature
It is something woke, they're changing the Jesus of the Bible into a different gospel that suits them. If you haven't already, please read your Bible from beginning to end. God bless 🙏❤.

But his love for man is strongest than all the riches of this earth. God stood next to the poor man on the same level, next to him. Showing respect for man in every moment of man's life. I'm a big fan of The Chosen!! Jonathan Roumie is really doing a outstanding portrayal of Jesus. This series has been such a blessing to me. I love that they show the humanity of Jesus. This series is like nothing I've ever seen before... it's phenomenal!!

I have learned so much more from watching this show! Reading the Bible has always been a part of my life but retaining it has always been hard.
Awesome. That last question was tricky...could have gotten political. Jonathan's answer diverted that, was truth, had humility in it which was beautiful. It was an irrefutable answer. Also he did not shy away from sharing the depth of his poverty before the show, which was so altruistic.
In truth, I think Joy is right though. Jonathan was careful in his answer to not be too specific in contemporary application. He probably didn't want to enter controversial territory. If he would have, he would have been right though, but it would have alienated a lot of people and distracted many people from at least being more open to Jesus.
I'm an atheist but I'm curious about this show.
It’s a good watch
It's a quality production. A period piece which imagines how people might have lived in 1st century Israel under Roman occupation. Jesus is portrayed through the eyes of those who met him and knew him. An original take on an old and familiar story. It's the first time anyone has created a 7 season TV show about these characters and tried to imagine their backstories. Many people who aren't Christians, people of other faiths or no faith, are enjoying it and relating to the characters. Give it a try and by the 4th episode, you'll be hooked!

It is so amazingly good. Just to give you some context…it takes place around the time Jesus is starting his “ministry”. He isn’t known by the masses, yet. He is slowly building up his following and gathering students (disciples).

I've been a Believer in Jesus Christ since I was a little girl, and now in my mid-60's, I can honestly say I have never seen a depiction of Jesus as blonde haired and blue eyed. And the same host (I don't know any of them but Whoopi) said not many people know Jesus was a Middle Eastern Jew. What the heck is up with that?
