My daughter did this last year when she was in 7th grade. Compared to this year (Legally Blonde Jr.) they did not have a lot of interest. The theater was barely half full and they had a lot of kids drop out of the show or just not try out. I think they had a cast of 11, whereas this year Legally Blonde had a cast of 24. Although the final production of Singin’ In the Rain was really cute and the director did an outstanding job, it just did not inspire a whole lot of excitement with the kids. But I get why the middle school theater teacher did it. The rain scene was accomplished with lighting.
