on new installs, Trane make a special motor for this expressed purpose. They call it a low ambient kit and includes a CCH.

good video.... Those are ICM head pressure controllers. They also make one with its own transformer. They also make a separate one for heat pumps too!

How can you tell if the motor is ball or sleeve bearing to set the cutout speed and so?
Nice setup, rather than installing a swivel tee and have to worry about it leaking down the road. Especially on a 410 A system.
Right. I have Roof Top A/C unit for a PD Server Room have that problem. First the Swivel Tee leaked so I Brazed a Tee in, then months later the Pressure Switch leaked. Now I'm finally going to install one of these.
Looking at schematic, shouldn't the wires go on the line side of the contactor?

If it was a straight cool unit, i guess u would power the device off the Y or cool wire?
Chris Alessi that's not a heat pump it has a phase monitor on it.
Guys say they are hard on motors because of the higher amp draw during low ambient. I also like that control. Hoffman had the market before they let ICM crash the party.
Seems like the amps would go up when motor slows down.

No
On and off beats up a motor just like they others do so either one will wear the motor out a bit early.Unless you run the cooling during cool weather, we don't use em.

yeah, but china has had 10x+ the time to start producing better things, yet their still busy not paying the slave children to make things
underpaying labor is one thing, poor quality is another. They just have to get to that point where the government mandates quality. Chineese could do this overnight. Their penalties are over the top, but maybe thats what it takes to get the point across.....

This is a straight cool unit you can use it for a heat pump it does have a heat pump jumper So in the winner the fan stays on
