    The ICM325A low ambient head pressure control ensures the condenser fan runs at an optimal speed for maximum efficiency. If the system pressure gets too low or the condenser temperature gets too cold, the ICM325A lowers the fan speed accordingly. Other head pressure controls on the market just turn the fan off completely. This method results in inconsistent head pressure, inconsistent cooling, rattling pipes & ducts, system leaks, and ultimately a shortened life span of the condenser fan motor and compressor.
    Prevents serious damage including:
    • Evaporator freeze-ups
    • Hydraulic lock-ups
    • Liquid slugging
    • Compressor burnout
    • Fan cycling
    • and more
    ICM has consolidated all existing single-phase head pressure controls into one control via a universal 120-600VAC line voltage and 24-240VAC control voltage. More impressively, users can setup and adjust the parameters of the device wirelessly via NFC technology (phone tapping) and the ICM Omni App.

    as a tech out running several calls, the old dial potentiometer is more efficient/faster for settings. Otherwise, good products.

    Dude this sick! Y’all are very intelligent to be able to make such a versatile and useful piece of equipment! Thanks for the thorough tutorial, instructor did a great job

    Will this cause any problems if the condenser fan motor is not variable speed?

    Hey great video starting to learn HVAC. What's the difference between this and the ICM325HNV any knowledge would be appreciated.

    Can this control be used on a 3 phase 480v condenser motor? I'm concerned that if Motor 1/Line 1 is not switched and the L3 line which would wired straight to the fan would cause the motor to single phase and run backwards. It does appear that the Line 2 and Motor 2 terminals are switched. Please advise.

    Can this be used in conjunction with the 870 soft start?

    • @icmcontrols9960
      @icmcontrols9960  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes because the ICM870 only controls the compressor and the ICM325A only controls the condenser fan plus the ICM870 is only in circuit upon start up and not during normal run.

      Great question had the same thing in mind

    I missed the entire purpose and what type of AC this unit will work on. I have a variable speed, no contactor. The board controls the fan and compressor speed.

      @icmcontrols9960  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately, The ICM870 series soft starts will not work with Variable speed compressors. However, variable speed compressors will have low inrush current to begin with so there is no real need for a soft start.

      @@icmcontrols9960 Unfortunately the video is about the ICM 325 and not the ICM 870. This means I am now double confused.

      @@TexasEngineer I apologize for the confusion I did not see the Model ICM you were referencing and assumed you had a ICM870. The ICM325A is a device used to control the speed of a condenser fan motor which in turn controls the head pressure in low ambient conditions. However, if your motor is controlled by a circuit board that already varies the speed of the motor, the ICM325A will not work. The ICM325A will only work with a standard PSC ( permanent split capacitor ) fan motors and not electronically commutated (EC) motors.

    Just put 3 of them in, 1 was toast out of the box, 1 wouldn't program and 1 works normally. 33% success rate will have this discontinued in no time.

    NFC = Near Field Communication
    Seems like your device is TFC or Touch Field Communication.
    This is very dangerous and moronic in the application you are placing this device!!!!
    Do you really expect there to be ample room/access to place your phone into a unit to touch the control? This will be especially dangerous if the unit is live or there are moving components nearby.
    Ad to the poorly thought out TFC, the need to have the device mounted in a unit that requires panels in place to take proper temperature/pressure readings. With this device the tech has to remove and replace that panel. Again, if this is to replace the dial control, what is the point of NFC if it cannot be utilized without removing panels.
    You need to make a stronger NFC signal, just like every other mfr that utilizes this in the HVAC industry has done, to allow the device to be programmed from a safe distance.
    If this device takes the place of the simple, convenient dial control I think many people will look elsewhere for their new control.
    Great thought.
    Poor R&D, probably by people that have never been in the field!!

    So this is mostly for colder climate weather correct I live south and usually hot. What would be the benefit of this in those warmer climates

      When the ambient temperature is close to design conditions, the head pressure will be at its peak during the summer heat. This is also the time when the compressor motor amperage is at its peak.
