Ollie the same thing happened me only in one of the aviaries with my hen reedling, she lost the leg but survived and has now built a nest and believe me i had a very hard time finding it, hopefully she'll have eggs soon and if not no harm done.
It's looking good for the breeding season 😊 I think most breeders with canaries have had a fair start. Hopefully, the greenfinches will get their act together, looking forward to the next update 😊
Working in the garden today and came across a goldfinch hen sitting on a nest in a clump of bamboo. I am surprised when you say your goldfinches are not sitting yet, I would have thought being under cover that they would be ahead of wild birds...? It must be all the sunflower hearts they eat here!
Greetings, sir, thank you for the beautiful and useful clips. I have a question. I have a group of canaries. This is their first season in production. They laid eggs and hatched eggs, but do not eat the chicks. What should I do?
Great video as always. I'm a fancy pigeon guy so just out of interest what's the reason for breeding hybrids & mules. Is it just the fascination what will come out and are there show classes for the various crosses?
Evrey year the same its to fast for breeding european birds off all types you got lost lots off bad eggs or they leave the youngsters i breed about 40 years and allways on the nature way and last year i gott about 137 greenies about 17 artic redpolls , crossbills from 1 pair 9 youngsters and some mules
