    So i have the chase freedom unlimited and amazon prime visa
    I was looking into captial one when i build up more credit 730 right now was debating getting the savor one card and then later if i actually travel alot in the future venture X and chass sapphire preferred
    Maybe freedom flex before either

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards

      I'd recommend the Savor One prior to the Freedom Flex in case you do need to take a trip out of the country because you'll need to leave your Freedom cards at home. Once you have the Unlimited and the Savor One, you'll then have your option in the future to determine if you want to go down the VX route or the Sapphire route.

    Did cap 1 cards start reporting your credit limit and your balance otherwise it tanks your score because back in the day it only reported what you owed which hurts your score thats why I left cap 1

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards

      It definitely reports balances and credit limits. I stalk my credit report meticulously to ensure that they are accurate. I find Capital One to be innovative these days. I love the rates on their saving accounts and the Venture X offers great value.

    Your vids are superior in many ways, especially for international travel. I am on country #72, with a goal of 100+...Barbados next month.

      Hey DC. You're the reason I went to Barbados last month. You said in an earlier comment that you were going to Barbados which seemed like the perfect place to ring in the New Year.
      #72? Impressive!! My goal is to visit all 54 Arican countries. I'm going to try to knock off 4 this spring.

    Good video. I just disagree a little since it seems that getting into C1 eco systems is so complicated. At least with Chase and Amex you know the rules but with C1 who knows.

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards

      Thanks for watching Marco. All the young'uns in my family who I've recommended CP1 to, they've been approved as their started cards. I continue to believe that it is the best issuer for kicking off your CC journey. We know the Chase rules (5/24) so after you've gotten your CP1 cards then you can plan when you wish to apply for Chase cards.

    • @MarcoRolong

      @@RSquared-travel-rewards I see a ton of value on that eco system. I told my friend hey you have a QS card apply for VX and was denied. Then he applied for Bilt and was approved. I rather have Citi, Chase, Amex, Bilt for point diversification and bypass C1 altogether.

    I know to avoid FTF but which issuers usually have the best exchange rates when charging on a no-ftf card?

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards

      BILT & CP1 have no FTFs as you know but Citi and Chase seem to mirror each other at 3% for their cards which carry an FTF. Amex's BBP is at 2.7% but no real value in travelling with the BBP abroad given its low acceptance rate.

    • @kingsamvisuals

      You get master card rates with C1 which are always fair in my experience. I'm always opt to charge in the foreign currency and let Capital One do the conversion.

    • @krs1905

      @@RSquared-travel-rewards I was looking more for the exchange rates that the card issuer uses, not specifically the stupid fees that they charge. Foreign currency to USD - just wondering who seemed to give some of the best conversion rates

    • @RSquared-travel-rewards

      @krs1905 oh, sorry about that. As you know, the exchange rates vary daily. It is my understanding that exchange rates on day to day transactions are generally the same. However if you were to do business overseas and were moving lots of money around, you'd be in a position to potentially negotiate favorable rates. Likely not materially different than the generally published rates. If I were paid in a foreign currency from a U S bank, I would care which foreign bank I opted to bank with. However, this is not my area of expertise so others feel free to weigh in.

    • @Adiscretefirm

      NerdWallet has an article I found about it. Processors set daily conversion rate, not issuing banks. Visa and MasterCard publish theirs, Amex and Discover do not. Testing against 44 currencies vs USD had MC usually better on over half, Visa usually better on a few and the rest tied or too close to matter.
