      I answered a pre-approval application for Capitol One.I received another email from them asking me to check on my approval. I had a couple of questions about the issues that were important to me. I couldn't even get my questions answered. When I saw this video, I am wondering if they did a hard pull of my credit score and I am not going to be eligible with Capitol One. As I tried to find help I was sent in circles. I don't qualify to have a big credit limit and I know that but I thought they were a fair business until I listened to this video. I am sure glad you are able to provide me the information to make a more informed decision about my credit goals. I know that everyone has to make money for the company and I get that. But it is not a help for me at this time and I am going to look for a different company that is willing to help me not stick it to me in the conquest of more profit for them and nothing more for me to gain with doing everything right to have the credit that I am building and I wish big business owners would be more honest with the consumer and realize they are going no place with out the people who are using the service they are going to hurt me not help me because I don't make Mega money and I don't want to pay interest on everything I need. grateful for your time and help. Sincerely appreciate it. Donna Goffe

    Capital One will put you in a bucket and keep you there no matter what. I've been with them 16yrs since 2007. At the time my credit was in the 500s. I started with the Platinum secured card $200 limit. Then upgraded to the regular Platinum 1yr later. Few years later upgraded to the Quicksilver one. Then upgraded again to regular Quicksilver. The highest limit I could get with a current credit score over 800 on that card was $5800. I finally decided to get a new card and applied for the Venture X and got $30,000 limit. Capital one definitely had me in the same bucket since 07

      I got $6000 after 3yrs nothing else guess what I paid in full monthly they trip I locked the card after paying in full on the app and got Amex platinum no limits and chase preserve started with $17,300 and they automatically upgraded me to 20,300 after 6 months with only a $95 annual fee and I pay all my cards off before closing statement phuck capital one and chase automatically approved me for a $15,000 on the chase unlimited card with 0% Interest for 18 months I checked my app one day and it said you’re approved now I hit accept and the card was here 7 days later I said that to say they competing for my business not the other way around especially when they see you spending big across all your accounts and pay them off every month because chase monitors that even when you’re with different banks such as Amex my next thing is to get an increase from $20,300 to about $25,300 I know lending tight right now but they see my activity and they’re like he’s good for it 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾

    I left Capital One after being them for 8+ years. This rarely happens but there was a time I missed one monthly payment with them. So I paid it immediately and asked if they could waive the fee. Upright No. With my other credit card, they did. So I paid the balance in my Capital One and dropped them.

    #8.Close your Capital One card. They slow walk payments to generate late charges and extra interest. They have just taken 4 1/2 months to process a payment. They would not waive "late" fees. This has happened 3 times this year. I am going to contact federal regulators. They also have astronomical interest rates twice my other cards. I am just going to buy a tank of gas or a lunch once a month and pay it with the bill to lower my utilization rate but otherwise I am done with them.

Then kept requesting a cli till they approved 7500. Waiting 6 months and was approved to 15k. Nfcu also up to 25k, and chase at 13k.

    I've always wondered about why Citibank will not approve me for certain cards even with a 800+ FICO score. Vantage scores are a pain and buckets too.

    • @fogrunr5075
      @fogrunr5075 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think Vantage scores are there as a steering mechanism designed to influence customers' thinking and guide them in a direction they want them to go. I have 17 accounts and I tracked the data very closely, having done several experiments. It really gives me a steep learning curve. Vantage is not linear. It's designed to work like crab pot mentality, pulling people back into the cooking pot when they see them escaping the debt mindset.
      Don't focus on the Vantage score.
      Focus on developing your wealth.
      A falling VantageScore during a period when you have exponential wealth growth is proof of what they are trying to accomplish.

    When my parents bought a house 50 years ago credit was a thing but a loan was determined by capital. Here we are in the 2020’s where loans are decided on your ability to get loans.

    Watched ur video. Decided to check my capital one venture card. Once I signed in it showed I could request a credit line increase. Went thru the steps and recieved a $9900.00 increase.
    Previously the increases were minimal. Around $1300.00 each time.
    Agree its difficult to get increases thr cap one. I just want higher credit limit so my debt to availability is larger.

    Tried the upgrade link... it said it was no longer valid? Thanks for the video. The CO one was my first card many years ago when I had fair credit... and it has always mystified me why my limit was stuck while all the other banks have raised my limit much more. I would have cancelled this card years ago as I hardly ever use it since they have been so stingy on dishing out the credit... however, since it's my oldest credit line I don't want to take the hit as it would drop my score.

    Dang man. I have SavorOne & Platinum. I tried to open another with a pre approval, and they denied because “too many capital one cards” do you think I’d at least be able to upgrade the platinum? Or at least upgrade to something like Venture

    • @bruceh4180
      @bruceh4180 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The platinum is often upgraded to the quicksilver or QS1.
      Also, the limit only applies to their own cards. Ex: I got a C1 Walmart "partner card".
      2% cash back at any store with no annual fee.

    Number 8 having a Capital One savings account improves your odds for a higher limit. When I had $16000 in a Capitol One Savings account. I got approved for a new Savor card with a $7000 limit. I was denied a new card with them for years and never got a limit increase on their Quick silver card.

    These smaller cards are for BUILDING credit. If you have good credit they feel like you don’t need it do they stop your limit. And if your credit is that good its time to upgrade to better cards anyway, don’t need the beginner cards anymore

    I believe that Capital One is determined to keep my credit score low. They only seem to report after I go over limit. I have paid attention to the pattern. When I make a payment it is not reported. Then with the interest charges, they are applied usually right before my next payment. They report the “over limit” but my payments never seem to be reflected. I have locked my cards and made an extra payment to cover the interest charges. My credit report is still showing the over limit and has not updated. Therefore keeping my score low.

    I been with capital one for some years. Never bothered to get any type of card. Then I got approved for a platinum secure card. After 8 months I applied for the the unsecured platinum card $200 credit limit thru credit karma and got approved $2000 credit limit. I seen another video saying capital one would upgrade people after 6 months but not me. I plan to keep them both open. Is keeping the secured card a good idea? I only make small purchases no more than 20$. And can I upgrade the secured card to an unsecured credit card with cash back/reward options? Like the quicksilver ? (If it’s better)
