13:20 it isnt out of character, at least not for comic book jjj. One time in a comic there was a flashback to right after jjj hired Peter. An employee asked why he hired Peter and thought it was weird to want a 16 year old taking photos for an official newspaper. Jonah's response was that he knew what happened to Peter's uncle, and wanted at least one thing to go right for Peter. JJJ is a good person, even if it isn't always obvious

      @chrispyfriedchicken9648 2 ปีที่แล้ว +19

@@jamespope7669 yea and he later realized he was wrong in doing that after finding out spider-man is not a villain. He misunderstood spider-man to be a bad guy but overall he isn't against heroes. In the comics he was very pro mutant and pro pretty much every hero except for spider-man, with the main reasoning that the other heroes are trained professionals while spider-man is some random dude who put on a mask. After finding out peter parker was spider-man and knew that was the kind of man behind the mask, he flipped his role and defended spider-man

Also, characters are at their best when they’re written like actual human beings and real human beings aren’t one dimensional, even assholes like JJJ. It was a life and death scenario and to Jameson’s knowledge, Peter was an innocent kid. Even a guy like Jameson wouldn’t want to put a kid in mortal danger at the hands of a lunatic.

I love Tom Holland’s Spider-Man and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, but my favorite live action Spider-Man is Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. I grew up watching Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man. He will for ever be the best live action Spider-Man. Willem Dafoe did an incredible job as the Green Goblin. Spider-Man does has an incredible gallery of villains, but the Green Goblin has to the be the best Spider-Man villain. I actually think Sam Raimi did a terrific job getting Willem Dafoe to be the Green Goblin. I really can’t wait to see both Tobey and Willem again. Also hope we get another rematch between them two again.

For me, I didn't watch the Raimi films when they were coming out. I didn't even really start liking Spider-Man until I saw reruns of the MTV series around 2011. The next year, I watched Dark Knight Rises. I was twelve and my favorite superhero trilogy just ended. I needed something new. That's when I saw the trailer for TASM. I remembered the MTV series. I loved the new suit. It was so different, but still so familiar. I loved Emma Stone's chemistry with Andrew Garfield. The movie inspired me to start writing my own comics. And that's why my first comic I ever wrote was Batman vs Spider-Man. I know. Cringe.
Anyway, going back and watching the Raimi trilogy, I do appreciate the films a lot for introducing me to Doc Ock and Goblin, two of my favorite villains in the Spidey rogues gallery. The train sequence is still one of my favorite pieces of cinema. I'm glad they were made because if not, we wouldn't have gotten TASM and I wouldn't have the love I have for Spider-Man today. They paved the way for different iterations of this amazing (pun intended) character.

Tobey Maguire is a perfect Peter Parker. Willem Dafoe is perfectly cast as Green Goblin. And then there is JK Simmons as Jameson. OMG
That tray catching scene is all practical movie magic and it's one of the best moments in any superhero movie

I think Norman was a flawed person but definitely not looking out for evil. The serum messed him up and I have the impression that it gets worst trough the film, where at first he seems unknowing of his Goblin persona, then they get the ability to talk to each other, and he gets more and more desperate and unhinged to the point where Goblin is clearly giding him. And I think there are two interpretation for the ending.
    1. Norman tried to takeover, you can hear the changing voices he gives to his personas, but Goblin had so much control that he managed to call the glider and try to end Spider-man.
    2. Norman got complitely taken over and it was just an act on the part of Goblin to gain sympathy.

Norman Osborne is weak, he's no victim. Osborne & the Goblin are one and he's fully responsible, not his persona.

I was five when this came out and I have so many great memories with this film. I still remember when it came out and seeing it in theaters. I remember having the chapter book and taking the vhs tape with me everywhere. I remember waiting for Spider-Man two. I remember seeing the first poster in the theater for Spider-Man two with doc ock in the reflection of Spider-Man’s eyes. I remember being told as a kid that Spider-Man two wouldn’t be out for another two years and feeling helpless as a child having to wait for what seemed like forever. This film means so much to me I can’t even put it in words. I will forever cherish the childhood memories.

The casting in the this film was near perfect. Willem Dafoe and JK Simmons are just immaculate casting choice that I can hardly see anyone else play the role. So happy they're still a part of the new Spider-man movie.

Spider-man 2002 was a movie I didn't see when it released, because I was born in 2003. But I still loved watching it even after it released, spider-man was and will always be my first favorite super hero. Love or hate the sequels, spider-man was my first favorite hero. No matter what, even if the third or amazing spider-man sequels were bad, nothing will make me hate spider-man.

Norman is basically a captain America gone insane. He was trying to make a Oscorp variant of the super soldier serum,( since many have tried to replicate it), and it turned him superhuman, but also insane.

WHICH NEEDS A SEASON 3 and I want too say truthfully, I have never seen the ending of Spiderman 2. I think I should watch so I can connect more with doc oc in NWH

Love your channel and your videos! This next bit might seem like I'm nitpicking, but it drives me nuts when I hear someone say the word "casted". I heard you use the word at around the 5:33 mark and I've heard it on several other videos. I could be wrong but I don't think that is correct. I mostly hear that word from reality tv stars when they talk about how they got on their shows. They'll say something about how they were "casted". The past tense of the word cast is cast, not casted. If you were hired for a role in a movie, show, or play, you would've been cast for that role, not casted for it. Also if you were going fishing, you would cast your line into the water. You wouldn't have casted your line into the water. I know it is insignificant and most people probably wouldn't notice, but like I said above I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL AND VIDEOS. So I just wanted to tell you that. I'm sorry this post is so long and I truly hope you don't think I'm complaining.....casted or cast, I'll still continue to watch and like your videos and continue to forward them and suggest them to others. Happy Holiday's man!!

14:59 It also fits with some versions of Norman Osborn being a father figure to Peter before he becomes The Green Goblin. Uncle Ben's responsibility speech is basically "If you can stop bad things from happening you should" whereas the Goblin represents the darker more selfish route of "Do whatever you want with the power you have and don't bother saving people who'll just hate you for it anyway."

I was the same way Chris, my brothers had their guys like one had Batman and the other had goku. So I got to choose mine, it’s crazy that I still remember this, I went to this collectible store with my brother when I was like 3 years or maybe 4. we just went to go see but this man that works there came up to me with Spider man cards from the Movie and when I went in the car, and looked at those cards. My favorite color was red and spider man been my guy since
