    Every adaption of Spider-Man is great. Whether it was Sam Raimi in the Early 2000’s, or Marc Webb in the early 2010’s or MCU Spider-Man… in my opinion each adaptation of the character captures the essence of the time period that each film was released in. All do justice to the character and all should be praised whether they’re regarded as good or bad.

      This needs to die. Not every adaptation is great. Sam Raimi's Spider-Man is the only one that authentically captures the essence of the comic book character. TASM strayed far away by making Spider-Man a "destined" hero with the Parker blood bullshit, MCU Spider-Man literally is the worst of the two.

    I actually like this Spider-Man because he acts like the comic book version. A kid with problems and yet overcomes them. He doesn't cry or complain about being a superhero. He loves it and even when he wanted a break on his school field trip he stepped up and helped out. He didn't just subconsciously give up his powers and suddenly started loving his life again.

In Homecoming through Far from Home to even No Way Home he's still new to all that stuff. The mature 30 year old Spider-Man can't be compared to the younger version. Because he isn't the college graduate that has already fought his biggest rivals. He's a kid that is still learning.

  • @GeeklyVideos

    I think the whole recklessness and Peter wanting to drop out of school seems like something a kid at his age with powers would be like especially after teaming with the avengers, it’s his own over reliance on the tech that’ll make his journey once losing the tech at some point

    • @corey2232
      @corey2232 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Exactly. Especially after Iron-Man himself requests you to help him in Civil War, Peter acts exactly like a teenage kid who just won the lottery would act. School doesn't seem important, especially compared with helping the Avengers (hence why he keeps asking Stark to help with a serious mission).
      On top of that, it fits perfectly in line with the other Spider-Man movies where Peter has to learn there's more to life/being a hero than just beating up a super villain. By the end of the film, he not only learns & grows from the experience, he turns down an official offer to become a full-time Avenger. I don't understand how the video says that "doesn't feel like a Peter Parker thing," when all versions of Peter start getting a big head & overlook more humble things.
      Peter being a bully isn't his usual thing, just as him treating his family or romantic interests like s*** isn't a usual thing... but he still did it, he still lost sight of what was important, and he had to get slapped back down to earth to realize he was in the wrong. This is the YOUNGEST version of Spider-Man Peter Parker we've had, so it makes even more sense he'd be less mature & have less foresight.

    Tom Holland is my fav Spiderman even though I grew up and watched Tobey Maguire, and I also like Andrew too. But y'all gotta realize Tom gets so much hate for no reason, Peter is still a highschool kid who still trying figure out the Superhero thing.
    Watching him grow and making mistakes is what makes a young Superhero great. After Peter meets Tobey and Andrew in No Way Home, I feel like he'll actually take some knowledge from them and turn into a mature version of Spiderman.
    REMINDER HE'S STILL A HIGHSCHOOL KID, A TEENAGER which means Peter finna do dumb stupid shit and mess up. Toms Spiderman gets way too much hate and it really bothers me

    • @JoePizzeria007
      @JoePizzeria007 3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yeah man everyone expects him to be experienced and mature already, they need to realise that MCU moves in a slow pace as they wait for each project to slowly push forward the overall narrative. Plus the blip happened so even tho the year is 2024, tom Holland is still the same aged kid as he was in 2019

    • @cauaviniciusguedes2004
      @cauaviniciusguedes2004 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JoePizzeria007 Tom Holland had potential in the beginning, really had! but in the end of Homecoming and half and end of avengers movies changed that, and made go down hill in Far From Home. I remember how civil war and homecoming were great because he was just a kid, and homecoming having vulture and the theme of being inrresponsible by your own gains and in the ending him being just a kid with 14-15 doing a little to help others and don't destroyng or having credit for in the end of the movie because of his journey, for me homecoming is in my top 5 Spider-Man movies because of this. But after avengers movies, far from Home really made him mediocre, he was 16-17 he's not anymore a kid, and the writing of that movie literally is just all the bad things about mcu formula and all the iron man thing happening at the same time, the Spider-Man isn't even a character in this movie, in homecoming he was, but here just doesn't have his direction, one time it's romance or vacation about college in europe about nothing! Literally! It's one hour and half about cringe jokes and bad dialogue and in the midle have a bad screenplay with Stark legacy, Mysterio, avengers and shield all together, that's literally the worst thing to happen in a movie, too much things going on, or worst, some desnecessary things on to make worse instead of continue the set up of homecoming. Hope No way home made him better, but what i can see i don't know, he's the worst parts of inrresponsability from far from home and homecoming, he Didn't growed, and he is 17-18, Tobey Maguire version in Spider-Man 1 was 17-18 and literally was a hero Class-S, same with Andrew in Tasm 1 with 17, they're literally saved NY City, i undestand he Didn't need to be the badass responsible in civil war and homecoming because he only was 14-15 years old, but comparing him youngerself in that era than what we have now, with him being 17 and almost with 18, he feels more inrresponsible than before were he was responsible, my god even in avengers movies he was the best, that's say a lot because Russo's Brothers knew how to make the character, but Jon Watts movies, well some ideas Speacially homecoming works, but mostly are not Spider-Man, that's shows how much writing is important even if your character is one of the most famous one.

    The thing I appreciate about this video is that you really keyed in on the problems I have with a lot of complaints about Tom Holland and the MCU Spider-Man. It seems like a lot of people don't "get/care for/understand" the CHARACTER of Peter Parker/Spider-Man, they just jerk it to the Tobey Maguire or Andrew Garfield MOVIES but the actual character of SM they don't give a s### about. They don't care about story, structure, story arcs, character arcs, development or anything. Over the years, arguing with them, it got to the point where I started to hate Tobey and started to resent SM2 being my favorite Spider-Man movie.

    i absolutely love tom holland's spiderman, he really captures the childishness and humour of the character. now that his first trilogy is done, i really think he will turn out as the best spiderman yet. hes proved his worthiness by going head to head with many of spiderman's greatest foes in just 3 movies and now has room for lesser-known, more unique villains. tom's new suit is by far my favourite, he combined both andrews and tobey's designs with his own with tobeys spider-logo and andrews silky suit look and sharp colours. tom is the perfect age for peters character. the soundtrack for homecoming is almost perfect. spiderman is really shown as a 'friendly neighbourhood spiderman' in homecoming. tom holland is the best spiderman adaptation (imo)

    I actually liked Homecoming and was happy not to get a third orgin story. Also the reveal of Keaton as the father of Peter's date was awesome! Not a huge fan of Far From Home simply because of how easily Peter is duped (or just his stupidity) by Mysterio. However, I really enjoyed No Way Home. It is not a perfect film, but atleast, for the most part, it's very good.

    Let's just get it out the way, all 3 spidermen are amazing. Tom Holland is perfectly cast as the MCU spiderman, he bounces of the other avengers with charisma and they've done him perfectly by slowly making him become his own hero without having to rely on the bigger figures, which i think will be the main focus of no way home.. with great power comes great responsibility and he's gonna learn that in this movie trust

    I don’t know, I personally never got the argument that Spidey villains felt like Ironman villians. Like yeah Ironman’s the what lead Vulture on his path, but I feel that Vulture was more a creation of just the upper class screwing over the lower class. Plus, I feel like it ignores just the personal interactions between Peter and the vulture and the parallels between them as lower class people. Like in Vultures speech, he doesn’t really mention Tony specifically and how he got screwed over. He was constantly using they, and lumping the upper class together in how they screwed him over. I feel like it would be like saying Green Goblin is villain of the Oscorp company board, and ignoring the him and Peter’s interactions.

    • @DalekCaanOfSkaro
      @DalekCaanOfSkaro 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's the point of the film though. All through it, Peter beleives he is only special because of the suit, but when he is at his weakest and stuck under the rubble, he can't and doesn't rely on Stark tech, he relies on himself, and that is what saves him. Therefore, in the end when he is offered a literal iron man suit, he leaves it as that is not what makes him special, being the simple friendly neighbourhood spiderman is what makes him special. Tony excepts this, and when he give the red and blue suit back, Peter no longer uses all the fancy gadgets, he just rely on himself and webs. And you can tell this as Karen Is never used again after Homecoming. He only takes the iron spider suit at the very last moment as to be fair on him, he did go to space to fight an alien with the power of the universe.

    Little known fact: The "Tech Suit" was actually stripped of the A.I. and advanced webbing at the end of "Homecoming"; Giacchino's score "No Frills Proto Cool" actually confirms that- they probably should've mentioned that instead of subtly hinting towards it. It also explains why Karen didn't show up in "Infinity War".
    All around I actually think "Homecoming" is a perfect movie- it does so much right from a storytelling standpoint and it actually gives us the continuation of Spider-Man's "Civil War" arc: from humble in "Civil War" to being spoiled in "Homecoming" and then fully emerging as Spider-Man in the end. I've always liked describing "Homecoming" as Peter's journey from Spider-Boy to Spider-Man- that's just my opinion though.
    Far From Home on the other hand I just cannot get behind- it was a major step down from this movie. Anyway, I've been loving your reviews so far and I can't wait to watch your FFH recap. Hope you enjoy watching NWH tomorrow.

    People have a tendency to root for the underdog & hate on what's popular, especially on the internet. There's also a huge trend of revisionist history & claiming a bunch of bad films are actually pretty good! People that say Spider-Man in the MCU is a bad thing or act like Holland's portrayal has been some horrid thing are just trying to spin the narrative.
    It's fine having different opinions, but it's the trendy hyperbole that's obnoxious. "Worst thing ever!" or "Complete garbage!" or "Sucks - 0/10!" while simultaneously propping up TASM 2 or Spider-Man 3? Sure...those are the people who tell everyone Phantom Menace/Attack of the Clones or The Matrix Sequels are actually good films -_-

    Honestly I feel like the mcu did a good, what if spider man was in the real world type of thing. It really shows how a modern day teen would act if they received spider powers. They would act reckless, selfish, and try to gain attention from their piers while at the same time they are awkward and have a hard time doing that. I also think that the stark suit is the most realistic since obviously a regular teenage kid from queens does not have the type of money to buy or make a real life spider man suit like that. Tom is not quite the best spidey (none of them really are) but he is my favorite and I can’t wait for what the future holds.

    This was the first Spider-Man movie I saw in theaters, and it blew me away. I remember my dad, a huge Spider-Man fan, being so hyped and even changing his desktop background to the shot of Spider-Man holding Captain America’s shield in Civil War.
    At the time, I thought this movie was basically perfect, but since then, I’ve gone back and watched the older Spider-Man movies, and I’m willing to admit the Homecoming doesn’t do a perfect job of portraying Peter Parker.
    My two biggest gripes with the movie are both pretty minor. The first one is that at the beginning, the flash-forward says “8 years later.” It should say 5 years later. The Battle of New York in The Avengers took place in 2012, and Spider-Man Homecoming takes place in 2017. It’s 5 years later.
    The second gripe is, in the scene where Peter is crushed by rubble and looking at his reflection in the water, they just had to ruin a perfect moment of non-vocal storytelling by inserting an echo of Tony Stark saying “If you’re nothing without the suit, then you shouldn’t have it.” It would’ve been a better scene without that. I would’ve gotten the message if they didn’t have that, what with the mask in the water being overlapped with Peter’s face and all. The symbolism was enough to get the point across.
    Apart from that, this movie is really good. I don’t even mind the whole high-tech “Iron Man Jr.” thing, as it was my first experience with a live action Spider-Man so I didn’t know anything else.

    Him being the only hero in a movie is a stupid reason to dislike MCU Spiderman... there's always been hints of other heroes in the other movies, easter eggs n what not, and on top of this in the source material Spider-man is in a universe that has an almost endless amount of other heroes.
    Having the characters connected to other stories such as the vulcher also isn't a bad thing, this gives the overall story some very easy depth as it has so much to use and we're all already aware of, its easy world building and its easy character development meaning they can build upon this easy set up and have more time to do these characters real justice without having an hour of backstory before the movie kicks in.

    I love Homecoming, it's my fifth or sixth favorite Spider-Man movie, Tom Holland had potential in the beginning, really had! but in the end of Homecoming and half and end of avengers movies changed that, and made go down hill in Far From Home.

So back when I had been watching it in theatres, I felt that a better ending would have been that Peter and Tony never talked again after getting the suit taken in that movie and so Peter would never get the option of that god awful iron spider suit. And just before we see the credits roll, we watch as Peter is making his own variation of the classic spidey suit without all the tech and get a final shot of the suit, and aunt may never finds out or anything like that.
