The green goblin look was changed because dafoe suggested it saying he wanted more of a realistic military look, I personally love the look and was terrifying as a kid
The worst Vibes Agreed. I wasn’t a kid, so I wasn’t terrified. I just think it was much more practical. He’s supposed to be more of a “Super Soldier” type of character. Not mutated. So, it makes way more sense. I agree, with DeFoe’s decision and suggestion. Also, the animated mutant head would’ve looked terrible onscreen, in an actual live action film.
Chad Falardeau Oldman would be good, because he is good in everything, plus I love the idea that he and Simmons essentially swapped roles when switching comic book companies, but he would always be, at best, the second best Jameson. If there is anyone who could ever play Jameson better than Simmons, they will not appear in my lifetime.
Lukey the Nerd 2 days ago (edited) ""Green goblin has that dumb power rangers mask, and he's scarier without it on"- weird al yankovic" Well. He was played by Willem Defoe.

Marcelo Liebhardt exactly! This is what I’ve been saying. He’s more of a “Super Soldier” thing, in the movie. The animatronic mask/head wouldn’t have worked, for that. imo, the movies should use the comics as references, not literal guidelines at all times. Heck, the Watchmen movie had basically no surprises in it, because it was 99% similar to the Graphic novel. A bit of creative flair would have been nice in that case..
Great vid Minty! I loved the first Spiderman movie and think it still holds up today. Part 2 is still one of my all time favorite movies. As far as the best Spidey goes, I'm thinking Holland is doing an awesome job but he also benefits from comic movies just having a higher quality to them and scripts that are well written (for the most part). Maguire will always be the OG and Garfield suffered from having horrible scripts for his but I still thought ASM was pretty good. Rest in Peace Stan Lee, you will be missed :(

This was a good choice out of the Marvel movies to honor Stan Lee, since I feel like Spider-Man (2002) has the most of Stan's DNA in it out of all the movies based on his characters. I think the MCU gets Spidey more accurate to the current comics portrayal, but the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man films are closer to the classic Stan Lee Spidey. And, of course, RIP Stan Lee. Excelsior!

Henjo29 If the contracts and rights ownerships has allowed it. I loved the 90s Wolverine & Spider-Man were great. Now, if we can just get a trio with Spidey, Logan, & Deadpool. I know they’ve never all been together, in the comics. But, Spidey has been a duo with both. And Logan & Wade obviously have a tight connection. It will work greatly depending on who they cast, for Wolverine down the line
That would have started a cinematic universe and it's best to just have him in the background or not have him at all because in my opinion, superhero movies are better when they focus on the superhero himself and not trying to build a universe. That was one of the many mistakes that Tom's Spider-Man made.
Great video Minty!!! Also that was a nice tribute to Stan "the Man" Lee!! For Stan Lee, can you still do Blade and The Hulk? Also, since the holiday season is here, can you do Scrooged and A Christmas Story? Thanks!!
I think Marvel owe alot to Raimi's Spider-Man movie, it really did revitalize the Superhero genre, that along with Blade. I still think this Spider-Man movie has the best Uncle Ben, that actor put alot of heart and emotion into the role.
Just watched this today! I didn't really get into Spiderman as a teenager when this movie it came out. but after recently watching Spiderman "no way home' i thought il re-watch the first one and it still holds up today. Great movie and cast.
Cιʂ Iɳ Tobey was a better actor but that didn’t mean he was the better Spider-Man. There’s way more factors to consider than just acting abilities. Like someone like Daniel Radcliffe for example isn’t a particularly amazing actor & has been unconvincing in most of his new films imo, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t perfect the Harry Potter role to define how the character will forever be perceived. You can big up Tobey’s acting as much as you want, but the facts are there are certain natural traits of Peter/Spider-Man which are more suited to Tom Holland. And there’s no shame in admitting that nor does it mean Tom’s best, just acknowledging both have pros & cons
Great video and very educational. I can't believe that they didn't use the organic Green Goblin mask and that would have been completely awesome to have a Wolverine cameo. Would have even been better to have a traditional Marvel Teamup, but ultimately the movie that we got was a great beginning for Spiderman's first cinematic outing, with Spiderman 2 perhaps being the best Spiderman movie ever made, especially with the classic Spidey/Doc Ock subway battle which has to be one of my favourite comic book to movie adaption. Thanks, looking forward to your next video!
I actually rolled my eyes when I heard he was playing the part. Great. This is gonna suck. Then I watched it. 😮 Whoa. He did an amazing job. Certain super hero movies seem to have one actor rise above anyone else. He is to Spider Man what Michael Keaton is to Batman.
I'm a huge Spider-man fan. Hands-down Spider-man 2002 was one of the best Spider-man movies of the whole franchise. If Sony would've stayed out of Sam Raimi way he would've some of the best Spider-man movies to ever be seen. Thanks to Sony want more Villains. They ruined the 3rd spider-man movie and drove Sam Raini out. On another note goodbye to the Great Stan Lee. Great Job Minty! Excelsior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you for doing this episode for Stan Lee may he RIP. Also I loved this Spiderman, Tobey Maguire did a fantastic job as Spiderman he is my favorite Spiderman.
Stan lee legend forever with us
Rest in peace
Excelsior
And remember, MAKE MINE MARVEL
Great video Minty! I love Spider-Man!!! He is one amazing character and has some of the greatest villains in history!
Thank you Stan Lee for all the Superheroes you created especially Spider-Man and The Fantastic Four. You will be missed may you Rest In Peace. #RIPStanLee
YES! Thank you Minty!!!! Will you be doing the other Spidey films as well?
That anamatronic Goblin Mask looked *Badass & Terrifying* 😱🔥👍🏾
Cheers Minty for your videos, My son met Stan Lee once and was privileged by the experience , We will always proudly disply his signature on the Spiderman comic he signed. long live his contribution to society and values off decency
One of the greatest moments I got to spend with my kids was winning a selfie with Stan Lee and I got to thank him.
Oh wow, what an awesome memory for you and your kids 8)
Minty you are so respectful, for looking up your culture history for this stuff. That's really awesome & cool!
The only thing dated about this movie is that there was no Twitter back then to voice how triggered you were by Kirsten Dunst wearing Asian attire. Still the best Spider-Man movie hands down.
@@wernervoss6357 what's really weird is that I loved the Amazings while watching them in the theater...but as soon as I left the theater, I felt meh and haven't rewatched them. I feel like Garfield gets too much flak though. I do like him and Holland much better as Spidey.
Hahahahah
😂😂
RIP Stan Lee!
A wonderful great legend!
Great video Minty! Thanks for making this video in memory of Stan Lee :)
Excelsior!
Agreed
My favorite Spider Man movie still. I never thought of that movie as *Campy, more so "It fits the Comic book it was intended to follow". Good Video.
Can you do the movie that revived the superhero movie genre: BATMAN (1989)!
th-cam.com/video/JNdgadTuhvk/w-d-xo.html
Great video Minty. Tobey MaGuire is my favourite Spider-Man, I thought Garfield was too tall and good looking, although Holland was good in Homecoming
RIP Stan Lee, thanks for all the memories
Minty man ya mint (see what I did there lol) matey love your channel and çontent ive watched your video about reaching 100,0000 subs I would jus like to say good on you sir I think it's a excellent video and shows you're a good person I would like to buy ya a beer I think it's a inspiring video all the best for the future and all that jazz all the best from the north east of England. A great channel for a sunday binge after been off ya face and awake since Friday
Thank you Minty for brightening our days. Cheers mate.
We should have had a Wolverine cameo!
I wish it would have happen
Thanks!!
THE ONLY REAL SPIDERMAN
MOVIE TRILOGY
A great tribute, thanks Minty
I think Marvel owe alot to Raimi's Spider-Man movie, it really did revitalize the Superhero genre, that along with Blade. I still think this Spider-Man movie has the best Uncle Ben, that actor put alot of heart and emotion into the role.
Just watched this today! I didn't really get into Spiderman as a teenager when this movie it came out. but after recently watching Spiderman "no way home' i thought il re-watch the first one and it still holds up today. Great movie and cast.
That Best Spider-Man Poll is a joke likely done by 90% young 2000 born+ millennial's 17:09
They think a cute smile somehow translates into acting ability. He was good, but still too inexperienced for my taste.
Maguire>Garfield>Holland
10 Things you didn’t know about Blade
Really enjoy your videos , keep up the amazing work. batman ahhhhhh, i mean, spiderman ahhhhh (classic)
Thank you lex very cool
First. Who’s watching this in 2017?
Great video, Minty! R.i.p. Stan Lee!
Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were my favorites
👍
R.I.P. Stan. Thank you for the memories.
Maguire is the best. Hands down!
Hell yess
agreed, he actually went from realistic nerd to big and muscular unlike these new little bitches that look like they've never heard of a gym.
Minty you are by far my favorite TH-camr!!
PLEASE DO 2 & 3 ASAP all the best from the north east of England
I'm a huge Spider-man fan. Hands-down Spider-man 2002 was one of the best Spider-man movies of the whole franchise. If Sony would've stayed out of Sam Raimi way he would've some of the best Spider-man movies to ever be seen. Thanks to Sony want more Villains. They ruined the 3rd spider-man movie and drove Sam Raini out. On another note goodbye to the Great Stan Lee. Great Job Minty! Excelsior!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stan Lee cameo in Spiderman animated series, 1994
Rest in peace Stan Lee and great work, Minty!
Pizza Time will never be the same
"Your friendly neighborhood 🕷 Spider-Man™!"
Maguire
Spiderman and Spiderman 2 are still in my top 3 favorite superhero films, along with Batman '89. 👌👌👌
Call me old-fashioned but I think Raimi's Spiderman 1 and 2 are better than any superhero movie from the 2010s...
soulagent79 agree it’s my my favourite era and hated they decided to reboot it twice.
10:15
Stan Lee 😢
R.I.P
Thank you for making us believe on Heroes,Villains and other worldly dimensions.
*EXCELSIOR!*
2002 feels Like just yesterday
Said be4, say again: classic films, like classic cars, deserve respect in and of their time. To dimp on decades-old CGI ignores the magic & marvel (pun intended) of what *could be done back then!
