I am dealing with a similar problem. The buyer completely destroyed a perfect pair of $500 shoes and filed a not as described claim after 60 days. I have been selling on Ebay for over 25 years and never lost a dispute(only happened twice in 25 years). Now 2 cases in the last 2 months... customer service lies to you on the phone and says the dispute will be decided in your favor and that you have seller protection. Ebay only protects itself. It is very sad....

@@PraveenSrJ01 What good a police report will do? It's the word of the buyer vs the seller. How will the police find the truth? there is no task force for Ebay returns or CSI. The police doesn't know who is lying. The police doesn't know what shoes the buyer got or what shoes the seller got back. So why waste the police's time and taxpayers money.

I've noticed with eBay you have to accomodate the buyer as much as you can or you will lose. You got lucky in this instance that the buyer sent the item back, they probably didn't have to.

They go through the bank and again it does not make any difference if you have great evidence or not, you will generally lose as the seller, we have had the few and far in between but it is a slim margin for the win column.

There are some buyers that love to get free stuffs . They will find any small defect (specially if you did not detailed in the description) to get a discount or a full refund, without planning to return the item. I sell books, have a no return policy and I am dealing with a buyer that wanted a free book because USPS did not handle the book well. And what was wrong with the book? A small cut in the sleeve.

I’ve been selling for several years. I had my first item lost in USPS. Tracking says it’s delayed, so I’m just assuming it’s lost.
The buyer did same thing your buyer did by going to the credit card company.
Long story short, I’m out $50 and don’t have the item. $26 for the item, shipping charges and the eBay $20 dispute charge. If it’s ever located I’m sure it will be delivered to the buyer and not me.
I guess I’m now responsible for the shippers inept delivery methods. Nice to now. I hate eBay but have no other viable alternatives.

I was at a gig and didn't answer the message in 5 minutes. I was planning to refund them their money but now i have to decide if i should ship the item and enter the tracking or agree to the dispute and refund the money. Thank you for the information my friend. I have a dispute going on now where the seller sold a coin to me and what arrived was different and fake. I used my sigma precious metal verifier to prove authenticity. Straight out of the gate he was claiming me to be defrauding him before I even had a chance to see if the coin was placed by mistake or he got packages mixed up. (I myself have done that.). So now we are in the process of a resolution and Ebay has to decide. Thank you for the encouragement and I am very glad to see you at least got you item returned....BTW...the coin I paid for was $1500.00.....a little anxiety tried to slip in, but I know that righteousness will prevail.

I used to sell my artwork on ebay. Then when my wife lost her purse we had to change our bank account information. At the time, I had to have a paypal account in order to get paid from my ebay sales. I tried to contact paypal and explain that my bank info had changed so I could transfer the funds into our bank account. Paypal REFUSED to address my issue. Ebay assured me that they would get it straightened out. They never did. This was like five years ago and NOTHING was ever done. I still want to sell things online but I will NOT ever use ebay or paypal again. You say that you got mysteriously disconnected from them when you tried to resolve this dispute over the phone. Based on my interactions with ebay that really is not surprising. I think they just got too big for their britches is what happened. I would find some other medium for selling online.

Now the seller won't send my items. Of course, eBay will do nothing. It is crooked, & there are other options that are less confusing & fairer.

It's an LV Speedy costs $450 once the buyer bought I've lost shipping and ebay fees almost $90.00 it gives us seller so much hassle when there are scammer/buyers but we really need to stay positive.

I trade clothing on ebay in the UK. Ebay make it far too easy for buyers to scam sellers. Luckily I've only experienced it 3 times since I started 9 months ago, but it's annoying when it happens, as it's always blatantly obvious, and should be obvious to ebay also. Ebay are unethical in their approach.

Ebay does offer steps to report an abusive buyer, which might possibly be a separate department from the dispute department. If so, and if you follow up with reporting them, they may be found to be defrauding others. Then, ebay will supposedly take action on the buyer's account.

My sister-in-law had a scam artist buy a camera from her. It was her personal camera, and she had used it two weeks before listing. The buyer claimed it didn't work and wanted a discount. I went through his feedback and found at least a dozen replies by him to sellers, that he was glad they could work something out, every feedback said he'd bought the camera for his wife and blah blah blah. He owned a camera store and was reselling ebay purchases he had used scams on to bargain people down after bidding and receiving the cameras. Sister-in-law asked me what to do. I said call his bluff, tell him to return the camera in the condition it was sent in for a full refund. Of course he declined and kept the perfectly good camera. I quit ebay because they NEVER EVER protect the sellers. They also, knowingly allow people to list things with false claims, reproductions etc. It was totally unreasonable for your buyer to keep the item for over a month and then complain. It was simply a rent an ugly sweater purchase, wear it and return like teenagers were doing with prom dresses. ebay tried to force me to refund a light fixture that was exactly as described. Luckily there was nothing in my paypal at the time so they couldn't rob me when they made the refund.. That was the day I quit, my husband quit then as well. We had both been selling for 11 years. Ebay NEVER backs their sellers.

Oh, wait until Ebay says that something that you're selling "violates its counterfeit policy" (in my case a 3d printed model, which I purchased on etsy). They won't answer any questions as to what it is counterfeit of, who's IP it violates, or why there are other exact copies of the item they are saying that it is counterfeit of for sale and freestanding(?); they will actively and provably lie to you, and their "customer service" chatbot will actively gaslight you. Then you submit a vero request to authenticate the item, and they'll refuse to answer.
They're unfair, dishonest, and at this point, I'd rather sell on craiglist than on ebay any day of the week.

Somebody wore and damaged and rendered them un-sellable…so I’m out my product as I will not resell a shoe with this much damage. I appealed the decision and was denied…even though I had photos of condition when sent and rcvd back. eBay wouldn’t even give me an opportunity to upload pics to prove…they just ruled in buyer favor. I reported the buyer and blocked the buyer.

Ebay doesn't support sellers. No rational thought related to policies or feedback. It caters to buyers and they abuse the system while sellers have hands tied and cannot document bad experiences when it comes to buyers. A buyer can give you negative feedback because something doesn't fit them. Even without asking to return. Doesn't fit, don't like color going to throw a rock at the seller. Ebay supports this behavior. Very flawed system. Feedback should be intended to document legitimate bad buying experiences not whether a buyer liked it or not or if it fit or not. It was that way in the past when customer service could look at transaction feedback and determine whether it made sense or not. Now its we will not censor buyers! What? As a seller I can only leave positive feedback for this buyer - so can't even share my actual selling experience and this lazy buyer gets to continue on abusing the system and other sellers.

I'm still learning a lot about cameras). The seller was upset with me saying he regrets selling to me and I should've made sure it was a good fit for me. I chose to ignore that, but here's the important thing: he wants to know if he can choose the shipping option (it's going from US to Japan and he wants something low cost). I have no problem working with him, but I am nervous, because low cost sometimes means more damage to the shipment or I may have to wait a long time until I can get my return back. So I did, the product came back in perfect condition. Almost as like it was never opened. I think the buyer just ended up changing their mind because of how long the shipment took which was two weeks. I’m not sure why cause it only took me three days to get it back. So I gave eBay full accurate details since the buyer mentioned that I listed it as a different router which I clearly didn’t!🤣 eBay sided with me but refunded the buyer with their own money. Not only I was able to keep the buyers money, I was able to resell the item for the same price to someone else. So yes moral of the story is, ALWAYS accept returns!!

Not only was the buyer, "...full of it...", as you so eloquently put, but their third grade grasp of English grammar, shows they are probably struggling in life anyway. Why is it, people cannot use proper English grammar beyond a third grade level is totally beyond me. They literally formed their sentences as if they were third graders. Amazing. Whether your right or wrong.
Ebay automatically sides with the customer!
The C.C co. will decide is B.S!
    Ebay decides for them.
Since ebay had to step in they charged you $20..lol
Ebay does not have your back at all.
The exact same thing happened to me but in the end the buyer kept the jeans and never sent them back.
Ebay does not and will not go to court with the C.C co for the customers money. They will not waste the time disputing over it. My supposed decision was made in less than 30 minutes after the Ebay rep said it could take weeks..lol.
    Complete B.S!
When it was all said and done I blocked that buyer on ebay for doing me dirty like that.
My advice to all sellers on Ebay.....just accept the return because you will not win!!!

I find it weird that you wasted 6 hours on the phone with Ebay for something that was only a $100 gain ($180 sale price - $80 cost), and that doesn't take into account fees, shipping, taxes, etc. You should only be mad if they sent you back an empty box. Of course, there's nothing sellers can do about it because Ebay always sides with the buyer.

Can you even read? His return policy is more than generous, 30 days. Then they used the LOUSY excuse of size, it was too small. They had 40 days to try the damned thing on.
