The part where Obi-wan requested to negotiate, it's a callback to Obi-wan been known as "The negotiator" back in the Clone wars. Also Obi-wan told Anakin "a Padawan you will still be" that's the way Yoda would have say it. It was nice to see live action stormtroopers actually hit something or someone. When Vader said "Did you really believe i wouldn't see it, Youngling" It reminded me that Vader had told Reva "I've been watching you, Third sister.
the lesson that Anakin had to learn was "stop trying to prove yourself". You can see from his fight with Reva that he is definitely confident and self-assured!
Something i noticed watching this video is when Anakin says to Obi Wan "you are beaten", he delivers the line very similarly to how Vader said it to Luke in Empire Strikes Back.
I would have loved to see Hayden with Anakin's scar. Also, in that fight, "Mercy doesn't defeat enemies" ends up being a nod to his conflict with and about Luke in Return of the Jedi.
I think that they left Anakin more "adult" on purpuse, it's like Vader would see himself if he didn't turned, but also to make his facial expressions more authentic when he get's emotional
My interpretation of the "flashback" was that it wasn't a flashback. Like in Doctor Who, mental battles between two opponents could look like physical like a game of chess or a lightsaber training. That's why Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor weren't really deaged much for the scene: because it's happening in real-time in their minds with either their mental image of themselves or the mental image they have of each other. I dunno, just a thought. But everything else in the video was great! And if that was a hint to Corran Horn, that would be awesome!
Yooo I mean…. Wooow. I wannted to see more of their banter but I enjoyed the throwback very much. And the Darth Fight? Wow. He went full booooom looking for this n Reva
The hacking of the lightsaber that you caught was also an anakin move in the clone wars. It was one of his duels with count dooku. The arc where kenobi's death was faked to infiltrate dooku's scheme to assassinate palpatine
I doubt anybody noticed, but before his ship arrives at the planet. Vader is staring into hyperspace, something thought to be unhealthy, maddening, and it is said Bader enjoys this and how it makes him feel
Reva’s gotta die now just like when maul found out in rebels and obi wan’s whole demeanor changed from his usual plan for saber duels to “holy shit well now I gotta kill him”
Vader pulling the ship down reminded me so much of the level in the force unleashed game dlc where the apprentice pulls down the Millennium falcon on hoth before turning luke to the dark side
When people say "NO longer Canon" it implies they were ever canon. George himself didn't even consider it so. There just was no alternative at the time. George did use the name Coruscant and some other names, but if he wanted to go in other directs he didn't let books stop him.
@@Mic1904 yeah. That attitude really drives me crazy, especially when you look at how messy the EU's "canon" is. I've never taken the EU at face value. I enjoyed some of the stories and hope Disney may eventually adapt some, but in no way do I hold them as ever being officially recognized by Lucas or Lucasfilm.
@@indiana_holmes Absolutely agreed! And you raise another great point I'd not immediately thought of: for people complaining about Disney 'messing up' Star Wars lore and continuity (which I personally don't believe they have) and having no respect for detail...... the EU was often the messiest, ever-changing, ever-contradicting itself, consistently inconsistent pile of self-refuting chaos. Holding it up as some kind of gospel standard when it's about as consistent as the weather...
You mention Boba Fett bringing in the Witches of Dathomire. But they've been canon for quite a while. The Clone Wars brought a lot of stuff into canon from the old EU. And the witches were a pretty big part of the series.
@@rvbberbandheart Yeah, I'll agree with that, but that's not what he said, he said "and in Boba Fett, the witches of dathomir", which implies that being mentioned in Boba Fett brought them into canon. It was nice to see live action stormtroopers actually hit something or someone.
When Vader said "Did you really believe i wouldn't see it, Youngling"
It reminded me that Vader had told Reva "I've been watching you, Third sister.
This episode was incredible
the lesson that Anakin had to learn was "stop trying to prove yourself". You can see from his fight with Reva that he is definitely confident and self-assured!
Anakin really has the best fighting style for real
Something i noticed watching this video is when Anakin says to Obi Wan "you are beaten", he delivers the line very similarly to how Vader said it to Luke in Empire Strikes Back.
He remembers ALL THE WOMEN, AND THE CHILDREN TOO
that got me
I’m glad you bigged up the writers, this was the best written episode so far, the timings of those flashbacks were *chefs kiss*
I would have loved to see Hayden with Anakin's scar. Also, in that fight, "Mercy doesn't defeat enemies" ends up being a nod to his conflict with and about Luke in Return of the Jedi.
So we not gonna talk about how obi set up the third sister for failure 😂
I think that they left Anakin more "adult" on purpuse, it's like Vader would see himself if he didn't turned, but also to make his facial expressions more authentic when he get's emotional
In Vader’s duel with Reva he strikes a bit of an Ahsoka pose
My interpretation of the "flashback" was that it wasn't a flashback. Like in Doctor Who, mental battles between two opponents could look like physical like a game of chess or a lightsaber training. That's why Hayden Christensen and Ewan McGregor weren't really deaged much for the scene: because it's happening in real-time in their minds with either their mental image of themselves or the mental image they have of each other. I dunno, just a thought. But everything else in the video was great! And if that was a hint to Corran Horn, that would be awesome!
That would have been cool but I don't think that's what it was supposed to be
Yooo I mean…. Wooow. I wannted to see more of their banter but I enjoyed the throwback very much. And the Darth Fight? Wow. He went full booooom looking for this n Reva
I think Disney is taking notes from The Force Unleashed and I’m all here for it!!!
With the force and the ship 🤣
when youre so early even erik voss hasnt broke you down
The hacking of the lightsaber that you caught was also an anakin move in the clone wars. It was one of his duels with count dooku. The arc where kenobi's death was faked to infiltrate dooku's scheme to assassinate palpatine
Those lightsabers wouldve made a fine addition to general grievous's collection
I would love to see Kyle Katarns name mentioned in one of the walls.
Me too !!
Love seeing Hayden in all his Anakin glory
When Vader gets Reva to yield, he holds the sabers with Ashoka’s stance.
A Star Wars Galaxies reference? LETS GOOOOOOOO!!!!
I doubt anybody noticed, but before his ship arrives at the planet. Vader is staring into hyperspace, something thought to be unhealthy, maddening, and it is said Bader enjoys this and how it makes him feel
Barf bader
OBWK- Ur our Only hope!
… the light fades but is never forgotten.
I’ve been waiting for this video since wendsday morning
"I was beginning to think you weren't coming. Look at me! I've been waiting here for 20 GD years, Master!!"
Hayden Christen’s acting definitely improved, significantly IMO.
acting was always good, just better writing this time and yeh maybe better acting as the years have passed
This and Star Wars Meg are my favorite channels, always positive and always great content ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Reva’s gotta die now just like when maul found out in rebels and obi wan’s whole demeanor changed from his usual plan for saber duels to “holy shit well now I gotta kill him”
When Vader force grabbed the ship then proceeded to toy with Reva SHEEESH! Thats the Vader we need more of.
When Anakin was hacking at Obi-Wan in the flashback, it reminds me of Clone Wars when Anakin was hacking at Barriss
Correct. People wildly overstate the idea that the old Expanded Universe outside the films and shows had any absolutely official canon status.
I love how the all the Aurebesh on the walls are legit Easter eggs and not just random jibberish
Was just throwing out the clarification in case anyone else hadn't seen the clone wars stuff with them.
Love the channel you guys rock 🫡🫡🫡 always on point , the story break down always makes sense ‼️
The ONLY thing that bugs me is Hayden doesn't have his scar during the younglings scene.
Same
one of the extra sabers on Jabiim was 100% one of Cal Kestas customizable ones from Fallen order
