On the “but he had a good striker at Fulham and Bournemouth” point. At Fulham, he had Mitrovic top-scoring with 26 goals out of a total of 64 which was 7th highest scoring team in the division. At Bournemouth, Solanke scored 28 out of 74 (second, 32 behind Fulham!) For comparison, the Dyche teams got promoted with 72 goals scored but less reliance on one striker (Gray 23, Ings 22). This proves something but I don’t know what. Probably that those two sides overly relied on an international level striker to go up rather than an attacking plan.
I hope Scott gets things right and starts playing entertaining football. I’ve currently decided to not go on as the football is dreary and predictable. Watched them home and away since 1968 but I can’t watch this as things stand. Fingers crossed for the lad but I thinks it’s more in hope than anticipation that things will improve as things stand.
Mark Robins fell out with his number 2, after that Mark wasn't the same manager, so that needs to be taken into account, it now appears that Adi Viveash was the brains behind our success, Robins without Adi, might not work in the future, Robins lost the plot in the last few weeks, he kept changing the team every week & brought on subs too late, our defending has been awful this season
Difficult position to be in. We are OK but will not get promoted with the way we are currently performing....and that is down to Parker not the players. Parker needs to change things and hopefully we will see more players coming back from injury.
Coventry fan, living up here in Lancashire, I'm not sure Lampard will be in charge for our game @ Turf Moor, I think the owner would prefer him to start @ home to Cardiff
They'll pot him once attendances drop which they will, I know quite a few who aren't going to more games because it's so bad. The board wanted to build the brand - this is the opposite of that. It's board not bored.
“it’s so bad” - good grief. Better they don’t come, we don’t need fair weather fans at the Turf. Probably why the atmosphere is so bad. Bit of perspective is in order. We’re 4th. The “so bad days” were when we were midtable fodder or worse, an old Division 3 or 4 club.
Esteve told us the aim in his interviews - win the league. We won't finish top 6 with Parker but hell no to Robins. I really don't take any pleasure in being Parker out (80%, I still want him to succeed) but we are pretty much a quarter of the way into the season and we've seen nothing other than what the Fulham and Bournemouth fans warned us about. Watch us go to Bristol and win 3-0 now !
Parker, really nice bloke but the football is awful. Don't be fooled by us having a decent defensive record, the standard in this league is distinctly average at best. He lost loads of players of course but we still spent tens of millions on the rebuild which is likely more than half the division added together - nobody can tell me he's getting the best out of what he has at his disposal imho. He's turned Cullen from one of the best in the Championship to someone who looks lost. Sad state of affairs, Parker won't get us promoted.
Think the chopping block is looming. The football is dire. How many players have been long term injured, some over months. These players are always gonna milk it. If these long term injured were racehorses, they would be finished off. I would pay them on a reducing scale, dropping by 10% per month. Or just pay them off.
The football isn’t brilliant but we put up with dyche ball for years… the players seem to like him and there seems to be good team spirit which is positive…win lose or draw we should support the team…I’ve seen a lot worse over the years. If we go up we will get battered every week
@@johnfarrell459 yep, we've seen worse in the 80s but that's not a reason to accept at side that cost a small fortune to put together to be playing so within themselves. Dyche was more than decent in the Championship imho with Ings etc. I hope we turn up at Bristol and something has changes - I agree with you though, the lads look with Parker and that does count imho.
It is only 3 months into the season, 3 months ago that we lost our core players, and our manager. SP came into the club and saw his team ripped apart, and he has had to put out a team that everyone expects to perform, including the board and when that team dont perform everyone is jumping on his back. So what part of " this is fucking stupid" are none of you getting??. I back SP and to even think he will be sacked only 3 months into the season is utter stupidity. January market is coming up and i am sure we will sign players to help us get back up. And adding to that, is it bad that we dont go up straight away??. I think a season in the championship would be good for us. I think the bar that fans have set since kompany got us a miracle promotion is way too high. I think people should lower their expectations and just enjoy the ride.
The problem isn't parker ,it's the board and fans ,if we go up this season ,we will get battered every game next season , lose our best players again ,rather build our young squad over a couple of seasons ,then maybe go up , there is no magic wand, give parker a chance
Teams play against burnley to get a point, and maybe nick a win. We are the team everyone wants to beat and our players we have cant undo their defence. January will see us sign new players to unpick defences. I would love tella back in a clarets shirt. Sorry but Tomclaret was wrong to say the players we have should be doing better. We have a ton of players out injured.
I think in terms of our league position we're doing about as well as can be expected- I think our attacking output could and should be better with the players we have, though.

No thoughs
Any thoughts on the injury list folks?
