The problem is that only 18 was built, a 33 Stradale is worth between 3 and 15 million dollars. . . Plus, unlike Ferraris, there is no spare parts at all and there are very few mechanics in the world that know how to fix It. . . Who is so brave to drive one "in anger"?

There are only a handful of them known still in existance and the only one people ever get to see is the one in Alfa's own museum, if this car was auctioned today it'd probably sell for over 20 million.

Did a bit of research and found that this car's engine featured a flat-plane crank, thus its unique exhaust sound. Its engine is similar to the one designed for the Alfa Montreal, but Montreal's engine had a cross-plane crank, giving the it a more traditional V8 rumble (I love the sound of that car...). The redline on this 2.0L V8 is something like 10,000 rpm. Crazy!

Compatta, leggera, V8 aspirato che urla dietro alla tua testa, manuale e con delle linee che, guarda caso, sono state riprese sia per la 8C che la 4C, chissà come mai... e anche qua 50 anni e non sentirli!
Guarda, lo sai quanto amo le auto d'epoca. Non faccio mistero nel dirti, penso che l'epoca migliore dell'automobilismo l'abbiamo già passata. Vi era la libertà di sperimentare in tutti i settori, linea, motori, peso, soluzioni tecniche, il tutto senza nessun vincolo progettuale apparente. Questo ha permesso di creare vetture bellissime. La 8C attuale, che trovo bellissima, si ispira appunto a questa 33 stradale. Ma ora che l'hai vista dal vero, nelle sue piccole e perfette proporzioni, non ti sembra "goffa" e troppo grande la sua versione moderna? Lo so, ripeto, periodi diversi. Wow, Bozzy. Two days in a row of rolling artwork.😍 This Alfa Romeo has it all for my styling tastes. Those gorgeous curves are to die for... man, I wish designs like these would make a comeback. Those old engines seem temperamental, but once they achieve idle and get warm, they are ready to scream with the best of them. I am amazed by the small displacement, rev-happy V8 in the heart of this beast... so cool and great sounding. On a side note, I can see some of this car's design cues in the Alfa Romeo C8 Competizione.👀 Thanks for sharing this rare machine, sir. I love your dedication to the fans. Honestly, I don't see how you make these videos without gasping and muttering words of amazement as you film cars like this. With subtle updates including a larger size, this one seems to be as small as a Smart Roadster, only lower. The body is a flimsy fiberglass shell thrown over a space frame chassis, that ought to be upgraded too. It is supremely beautiful though, an can be the basis for a cool modern supercar. I still love those fat old-style tires, they not only look better but are more practical and comfortable than modern thin walls which can damage the rims over the slightest bump.
That is certainly a beautiful thing. :) But it only put out 152lb/ft of torque and you would have to rev to 7000rpm to achieve peak torque. HP was 230 but you have to rev to 8,800 to get it. I guess as it was designed as a race/road car, you would need the power at higher RPMs to accelerate at high speeds.

Technically this isn't a race car. The 33 Stradale is the street-legal version of the Tipo 33 prototype that was raced in the World Sportscar Championship, and only 18 were built.
Never, ever rev a cold engine like that when cold, it's adding wear and tear for no reason but to show off. Start it, use the choke to get it revving at circa 1500 rpm, give her 30 seconds for the oil to get in the key areas, then drive off really easy like you have an egg underneath your gas pedal until the oil is at least 75-80 degrees Celsius.
@@FedbergRoland For me it doesn't look as hot engine launch, just look how hard it starts. Alfa looks like she was completely rebuild/restored so why ignition and carburetors weren't be tuned properly. Therefore if it was hot, she should start easily from the first turn, I think. At least they didn't built it in twenties of 19th century. Btw. I think You can hear the difference between idling hot and cold engine if You compare to the last few seconds of the video. Even if it is still not warmed enough.

Actually,referring to Italy ,this car was not highly rated back then, neither for the styling nor for the powertrain.
It was ridicolously expensive, the factory was not able to really finish
the job and reliability was in the hands of God.

Technically this isn't a race car. The 33 Stradale is the street-legal version of the Tipo 33 prototype that was raced in the World Sportscar Championship, and only 18 were built.

Never, ever rev a cold engine like that when cold, it's adding wear and tear for no reason but to show off.
Start it, use the choke to get it revving at circa 1500 rpm, give her 30 seconds for the oil to get in the key areas, then drive off really easy like you have an egg underneath your gas pedal until the oil is at least 75-80 degrees Celsius.
Yeah this is painful to watch really.
Edit: I didn't even see where they really revved it. Ugh.

@@FedbergRoland For me it doesn't look as hot engine launch, just look how hard it starts. Alfa looks like she was completely rebuild/restored so why ignition and carburetors weren't be tuned properly. Therefore if it was hot, she should start easily from the first turn, I think. At least they didn't built it in twenties of 19th century.
Btw. I think You can hear the difference between idling hot and cold engine if You compare to the last few seconds of the video. Even if it is still not warmed enough.

That's exactly how I reacted first time I saw this car in the racing simulator "Assetto Corsa" and learned this car actually exists and is for real. Nothing short of a marvellous car...
