Intercooling, turbo(super)charging, direct fuel injection, methanol/water injection and nitrous oxide, mechanical computers for engine management, diagonal valve layout, turbojets and even liquid fuel rocket propulsion all made it into production somewhere, and that's just talking about the powerplants...

@hansimglück-o8n Die Bemerkung mit dem Durcheinander heutiger Motoren ist (mit Verlaub) unsinnig! Heutige Motoren müssen in sehr viel kleineren Räumen funktionieren und werden daher wesentlich kompakter gebaut. Versteht sich von selbst. Mit ein bisschen Nachdenken kommt man von selbst drauf.
Alter ist das Geil!!! Ich hab ja echt schon viele Motoren gehört. Aber der Sound ist Mega. Ein Urvieh das Ding. Super!!! Und eine Schönheit obendrein. Ein tolles Privileg so ein Teil fahren zu dürfen. Aber DAS muss man ja auch können. Und das kann der Rennfahrer und Legende Stuck ja auf jeden Fall.
Wenn du das mal so halbwegs miterleben willst, dann kann ich dir die Classic Car Veranstaltung auf dem Nürburgring empfehlen. Und dann am besten auf der Haupttribüne bei Start / Ziel stehen, dann wird der infernalische Sound noch von der Tribünenkonstruktion zurückgeworfen. Das haut einen aus den Schuhen.

That's Hans Joakim Stuck. That is his father's 1937 hillclimb car. Hans Stuck Sr. Was European mountain (hillclimb) champion several times. That's why it has the dual rear wheels. In Grand Prix trim, that car was capable of 200 mph. The Silver Arrows!

Und das dann noch gekrönt von diesem sich zwar unfassbar gut anhörenden, ansonsten aber absolut beschissenen Motor, der nur zwischen 4,950 und 5,120 Umdrehungen ansatzweise Leistung hat, aber bei 5,150 Umdrehungen sofort auseinanderfliegt.
