A better way to argue would be to explain the amount of plant resources needed to produce 100g of chicken. Even if we consider that plants may experience some form of distress, a significant number of plants must be used to generate an equivalent quantity of nutrients obtained from animals.
Referring to nonhuman animals as commodities panders to nonvegans who regard nonhumans as commodities. We don't refer to the caloric content of dog flesh or even human baby flesh, or compare the nutrients in human vs bovine breast milk
I love the fact that Arvind asks the questioner whether they would bring up the 'plant sentience' defense in response to an issue like child or dog abuse before relying on the fact that we have to kill more plants to feed animal agriculture. The latter is effective at proving somone wrong; however, the former is more effective at picking apart the defensiveness behind someone who does not want to stop eating animals.
There is no question on cruelty or no cruelty, its the question to make it lesser. Meat eaters should not talk about plant's feelings. Becoz plants production and consumption is far more high in farming for meat produce. Indirectly they are using Far more plants and water and land for meat production than plant based food. Only with half of the total animal farm lands , huge production can be done for fruits, veggies, cereals and much more. Vegetarian food is becoming expensive, fruits are expensive. Cereals are expensive. These can be balanced.
I am not a vegan. HOWEVER, I strongly disagree with the claim that killing a (living) plant is as ‘unethical’ as killing a sentient living thing. Thus far, there is no credible evidence to support the claim that plants feel pain in the same manner that animals feel pain.
'The notion that plants feel pain, despite lacking a central nervous system and brain necessary for pain perception in animals, is sometimes discussed in philosophical and ethical debates rather than being supported by scientific evidence. Plants do respond to environmental stimuli and use chemical signaling, which some interpret as a form of sensitivity. However, these reactions are not equivalent to the animal experience of pain, as plants lack the physiological structures for such sensations. This concept is occasionally used in discussions about diet and ethics, particularly in debates between meat-eating and vegetarian/vegan lifestyles. Some proponents of meat-eating use the argument that if plants "feel" pain, then consuming them would also be ethically questionable, thus negating one of the moral arguments for vegetarianism or veganism. This rationale is often seen as a way to challenge the ethical consistency of those who abstain from meat for reasons of animal welfare, suggesting that if harm to living organisms is to be minimized, the line between plant and animal life becomes blurred. However, this argument is generally considered more a rhetorical device than a stance grounded in scientific understanding of plant biology.' - ChatGPT4
Arvind certainly kicked off with a compelling argument, but its presentation could have been smoother and more logically structured. The defensive tone risks undermining the validity of the points being made. This is understandable in the heat of a debate, particularly when defending one's viewpoint following what I presume was a powerful and passionate discourse! Indeed, plants do experience pain and affection - it's essentially the crux of life and how various species have thrived and survived. While it may seem hypocritical to draw a line, isn't it more about finding an optimal balance? We need to be compassionate while also ensuring our survival. Minimizing food waste, adopting veganism or ethical and sustainable meat consumption, curtailing large-scale unsustainable unethical farming and breeding - these are all steps towards respecting food, life and the planet. I would say it even aligns perfectly with the adage, "Every morsel you eat is divine." Just gather some good karma while you're here folks, wouldn't hurt 😄😉
We're living in world where people care more about plants feel pain and not animals so people can not feel guilt and continue to justify animal killing is good and not plants killing

Vegetables have water element. Insects, fish, reptiles and their eggs have fire and air. Birds and their eggs have water, fire and air elements.Mammals have water, fire, air, and earth. Humans are made up by five elements as water, earth, fire, air and ether. The more elements we are made of, feel more pain.

You were a little bit incorrect in your logic, according to me. And he explained that. He doesn't need to bring Plans, in a Human abuse speech, because Plant abuse is not the alternative of Human abuse. I mean if you stop abusing humans, you don't need to start abusing Plants instead. So, plant abuse is Not relevant in this conversation. But not the same with Food. If you don't eat Animals anymore, then you will eat More Plants. So, Plant Abuse here is the Alternative of Animal Abuse. He has a point. Well, the End of your answer actually responds to this - Animal eaters kill more Plants! Of course Plants can Not feel neither Pain, nor Anything!
Your logic would be Relevant for Cannibalism. - Don't eat Humans. Eat Plants. - Well, this is Hypocritical - Plants Feel Pain and have Cognitive abilities!

Aravind please take an apple and a cat next time for the demo, so that can differentiate
Plants also feeling and so on like animal, human
It is waste of time to argue with the one who says plant suffering and animal suffering is same such people don't realise the difference between animals and plants
I can't understand how there are so many idiots out there who think plants feel pain. I guess because it makes them feel better. Nobody likes hearing what they do is incredibly shitty.
Ummmm nice video while i am munching on my chicken fries...
When we plant plants so many insects, earth worms etc are killed. Thats why some communities dont eat underground food
Dude got real quiet at the end.
Clutching at farts is what I call this. And his ego came in the way of him being debunked
Bruh! Why did you blur his face & why are these guys even asking questions here, why did they not do so in school?
🌱💚💚💚💚🌱
what about tree and animal?both are same.Killing animal and killing trees and plants are same
Vegetables have water element. Insects, fish, reptiles and their eggs have fire and air. Birds and their eggs have water, fire and air elements.Mammals have water, fire, air, and earth. Humans are made up by five elements as water, earth, fire, air and ether. The more elements we are made of, feel more pain.
2:46 Tu Quoque noooooooooo (I'm sided with the vegan btw, I'm just pointing a phallacy).
The phallacy of the contender I believe is the Appeal to Futility.
He says he is completely against animal cruelty 😅. He thinks this will back him up.
Go to medical and pharmaceutical industry, go give lecture to them about animal slaughter or animal rights there.
What about the people who have CIPA syndrome
Plants want animals to eat their fruits as they have want to spread their seeds.. as simple .. how can you compare
He couldn't accept his own hypocrisy.
He is comparing a sentient and insentient so his question is wrong biologically!
Jisko non-veg khana hai wo aaise hi bolega…
If i pick grapes from the tree, will the tree die? 😂😂😂 is the tree gonna scream like a human or animal in pain?
Mosquito ko bhi pain hota hai kripya all out jaise product ka boycott Karo unko bhi pain feel hota hai .
@@kira_bl8qyIt's just common sense. We get rid of insects in self defense cz they cause diseases. No one slaughters mosquitoes.
The coward who requested to be blurred out has a really annoying way of talking.
And was super egoistic as well. Never admitted any of the contradictions and excused himself citing other people need to speak
He may or may not have asked for his face to be blurred
@@therealgrimreaper68 you're right, I didn't think of that. I think now it was just Arvind being decent.
