Mutual Relationship With Cows | Can We Get Milk Without Hurting Cows? | Q & A | Veganism

  • Is there such a thing called as Ahimsa milk? :
Just replace the word cow in a sentence with female human and see if it makes any sense. If a woman was made pregnant naturally, child get's it first milk and then we consume. If it doesn't make sense, then the question to ask is "Why do we look and treat animals differently when they are no different than us in the all ways that matter". A female mammal produces milk only for her child and not for anyone else. We would not drink milk from another human, why from another species? It is not needed.
The Vegan argument is not about how we USE animals but that USING in itself is incorrect.
Calling her a mother makes no sense when we support industries that treat her and her kind worse than garbage. There is no right way to do the wrong thing. Ask yourself this, would you tie up your own human mother and treat her the way you would ideally want to treat a cow? If you say no, then do not call cow as your mother. If you say yes, then you don't deserve to call cow as your mother. Let us please do the right thing and just leave the animals alone.
Here are also some points to consider :
    1. How does the cow get pregnant?
    2. What happens to the male child?
    3. What happens to the cow once she can no longer produce milk?
    4. If someone asked the same question you did but instead of cow they said "human". Would you call it as farming or slavery? Why do you consider enslaving cows any different from humans when animals are the same in the all ways that matter?

There are two reasons why vegans comprise a fraction of one percent of the population:
The main reason is due to humans’ failure to care about what they put into their own bodies - as long as it tastes good, who gives a damn about the consequences to one’s own health or the ethical concerns regarding other creatures or the environment?
The other reason is due to vegan advocates and animal rights activists being inept in their understanding of morality as well as their abysmal grasp of human physiology. Almost every single vegan activist I know of wrongly believes that we are omnivores, and they are clueless in respect to metaethics and applied ethics.
But that is not the most unfortunate thing about the matter. The saddest thing is that there is hardly a single vegan activist even willing to spend an hour or so to learn proper diet and meta-ethics with the World Teacher Himself, Jagadguru Svāmī Vegānanda, despite him freely offering to do so on his social media platforms. 😩

I was vegetarian as I always thought Indian dairy is kind to cows and is different from the western dairy where they breed cows purely for exploitation.. After research and getting aware of the fact that India is 2nd largest exporter of beef and researching Indian government SOP on dairy, I came to know that we as an Indian are no different than the west.. Dairy sees cows as an milking machine and that's the truth.. Vegeterianism was considered best in ancient times probably because that time people didn't see it as a business and were ethical to cows but in today's modern world, empathy doesn't exist sadly😢😢..
PS: Now I am trying hard to be vegan since 1 month and so far I have been successful..

Sure bro.. first thing is get yourself tested where are you deficient at.. from the symptoms it looks like you might be deficient in vit B7, B12, calcium and vit D but I suggest get tested dont just assume..
I dont take any supplements.. but I use Oatley oat milk for tea or for milk replacement.. that has a vit b12 added in it check the nutrition side of oatley oat milk to know more
I eat silk's vegan yogurt it is easily available in US here but I m not sure about India.. just search in supermarket it should be there..! That yogurt has curd like bacteria culture for gut health these bacteria are important
For vit D simply standing in early morning sun for 20 mins is enough if no sun, then go for any vegan supplements
For calcium I eat spinach, dill, chana, chole, flaxseed almost everyday
Proteins I eat pumpkin seeds, mushroom, tofu instead of paneer
At least 8 soaked almonds (soak it overnight) and 8 walnuts will help you to stop hairfall
Nutrition yeast I eat it because it has good nutrition see if you get it in India.. plan your diet properly you won't need supplements
I am not a doctor just telling you what I do as I have just turned vegan.. I suggest still get an advice from your doctor before

It's truly heartbreaking to share that male calves often face a distressing fate, as they are either sent to slaughterhouses, sometimes even through temples, or left without food for the first 10 days before being killed. This is an unfortunate reality. It's a situation where mothers are treated as mere machines, continuously giving birth to babies and milk. This cruelty may make one wonder if, in some ways, slaughter might be a more merciful fate. Let's work together to bring more awareness and change to this heartbreaking issue.

They only look at them as money, but to us they put up a very genuine remarkable show that how much they care for their cows. ! N the calves are mostly put up away in a separate enclosure away from their mom's, 2nd thankfully evening some owners allow them to graze n u should see the scenes where the little ones & their mom running towards each other .. it is ❤ &💔 together. 3rd I have seen men catching old cows with ropes , to take them to slaughterhouse!!! It's heartbreaking to see the cows running or resisting them cos they know they are harming them. It's all bs when it comes to animal agriculture. In the Gośālas, where indigenous cows are all cared for, regardless of sex or age, and allowed to live full natural lives & naturally reproduce, and calves given priority to the milk, as per the Śāstric injunctions, would you agree that this is an ethical way to obtain milk products?
The reality is that due to kali-yuga, the consumption of milk will not decline, not for another 3000-5000 years, during the middle of the Golden Age of Kali, so it is important to try to establish concessions and advocate for this ethical, Śāstrically sanctioned Gośāla derived milk products to those devotees who consume them as religious sacrament --Establish a middle ground in this way, where cows are well taken care of given all respect and needs.
I've been vegan since 2011, but I have found as I have become more immersed in Vedic Culture that advocating for this middle ground is highly important.
I have managed to find at least 3 companies that advertise ahimsāk produced ghee, although I've only sampled 2: GirOrganic and Shree Radhey. Both are high quality although the GirOrganic seems to be of even higher quality. Although I've sometimes utilized this ghee, I don't feel any less vegan than before I tried it last year, either physically, mentally, or spiritually. But currently I cannot afford to order more of this ahimsāk ghee, which is an obligatory criteria standard for me, I just resumed utilizing only sesame oil for cooking masāla dishes without issue. I don't really care for other milk products that contain lactose, casein and other milk proteins. I only took ghee as sacrament to offer to the deities and take as Prasādam.
Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa appeared in Dvāpara-yuga, by the way. It was Śrī Rāma who appeared in Tretā-yuga.
Thank you for your service to humanity, to cows, and all other living entities.
May all of humanity be purified of adharmic activities.

Boss, your ideas apply only to the commercial dairy farms or commercial minded farmers. In the villages we don't tie the cow to inseminate her. They follow natural cycle. Bulls and cows live together happily until they age and die naturally. Not a theory - I have many cows grazing in natural surroundings, living naturally. We have them in the farm for using the cow dung and urine as fertilizers in the farm.

I am a Hare Krishna devotee who has recently made the choice to be vegan. My question is how easy (or difficult) is it to be vegan in India? My impression is that just about everything uses ghee. I am asking because I intend to return to India, this winter as I try to go once a year, but this will be the first time I am going as a vegan. Is it possible to find vegan options in places like Vrindavan where consuming dairy is considered to be almost sacred? Thank you.

@@shubhanshi8693 Strict vegans would say that if the milk is being taken from the cow it is being stolen, so in that sense yes they are being exploited. However, it seems at least the milk that is used in Iskcon comes from the ahimsa practice. I am a bit on the fence at this point about whether or not I believe that it is possible to have a true ahimsa dairy. I think for now, it is best to maybe just not take dairy at all

  • @saiedm.a.6065
    @saiedm.a.6065 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Life as we know it cannot sustain without vitamin B12.
Simple organisms like bacteria can synthesize this crucial vitamin, yet humans with all their advanced biology, cannot. We get it either through meat or dairy. How do you propose vegetarians get their B12 if you avoid dairy?
If you answer "supplementation", aren't you going against very grain of what nature (or God) has intented for us?
No vegan society anywhere in the world has existed and most individuals who do become vegan have had some kind of health complications later and had to revert. This is especially true in colder climates where the dietary requirements are different.

I really appreciate your work. but I didn't like the approach and the attitude with which you are showing towards plants in some of the videos. I don't think one need documented evidence to say that someone is alive. the same happens with plants too. in fact, with many other organisms. each and every organism is equally important be it ant or a plant. they feel pain and fear. plants do release certain hormones into the ground when they are in fear, and they communicate with other plants just like us and tell other plants what's happening to them. there are lots of videos online and the same happens with bacteria also. you check out videos on quorum sensing. it shows how cells communicate and live. our life is no different from them. they kill to live. it has its own role on the earth. if you are differentiating and saying that killing plants is okay because they don't feel pain because they don't have neurons then it is totally a wrong argument because then it means that you haven't understood the evolution in the right. and you know what? you see yourself different from animals, plants, microbes but at the end of the day you are no different from them. you have just more cells than a microbe and all the cells have collective consciousness, and they are automated, and the body is being protected. and yes, the unnecessary pain and suffering should be condemned and to prove your point you don't need to downgrade other organisms. can you feed a lion grass, that's not possible right. even if it eats it can't digest it. and there are many reasons why people shifted their diet to meat. it is because of the climate and drought etc. Kashmiris eat meat even brahmins eat meat because their terrain can't support agriculture. but what is important is the intention behind killing. if someone is killing it for food then it is their food. but it is definitely wrong to kill animal just for the sake of killing and enjoying killing. that needs to be stopped. you can't just consider people living in cities or towns and address the whole mass. people have their own conditions.

      1) no cow should be made forcefully pregnant either artificially or by mounting bull against her will. They must mate among themselves natuarally.
      2) after calf birth he or she shouldn't be separated. Only the surplus milk can be taken so that cows dont get mastitis
      3) this milk will be so little, no farmer can make a business out of it... It could feed only to one family
      4) male calf must not be sold to slaughterhouse or anywhere where he could end up getting hurt or starved or killed in accident etc once he is grown up,
      4) Bulls can be used in farms but some vegans might debate it as this is kind of exploitation but I feel it is just a hardwork that human farmer is also doing the same along with that bull but they need to be cared and treated when sick ..
      5) once cow stops producing milk, she shouldn't be killed and must be treated with reapect, treated when ill..
This will be ideal definition of Ahimsa milk.. but if you think logically, it is highly impossible for any small scale farmer to implement this because it will burden him financially without any return and it will be super expensive to keep this running forever without constant funds.. and think about the population of the cattle growing exponentially and associated expenses today

Also the cow's child would get stomach problem if he drinks all the 8-12 litres of cow from her mother, so after the cow's child is filled, I find it completely correct for us to use the milk. Vegan here since 15 years… but it’s peoples choice to eat whatever they want… there are 75 million Indian farmers dependent on dairy, meat industry because not every piece of land in India is irrigated land…but livestock farmers in arid areas can procure fodder in the form of hay, silage from irrigated lands to feed the livestock… I agree with empathy to animals… but what if unemployment rises and in turn crime rate increases because of unemployment…people who live in arid areas, depend on livestock for livelihood… so unless u have a practical plan for those farmers stop preaching this non-sense… also growing vegetables and fruits is a labour intensive occupation… these days it’s nearly impossible to find labours to plant seeds, maintain weeds, control pests, harvest the yield… even though the farmer manages to harvest, the market price doesn’t even cover the money he spent on labour and other maintenance… where as single farmers family can maintain around 30 cows, 100 sheeps, 500 chicken.. livestock assures a promised income for farmers… also the farmer’s vegetables & fruits can be destroyed by wild animals like wild boars, elephants… the machinery used for agriculture is very expensive… whereas livestock doesn’t need much of the machinery… if a farmer has to start growing fruits he has to wait 4-5 years for the harvest… livestock has constant prices… for example in Karnataka a farmer gets ₹35 for a litre of milk, ₹400 for country chicken, ₹10 for country eggs, ₹600 for mutton… where as vegetables like tomato, onions prices will ₹60 one day, ₹5 the next day… so if u try to mess with the farmers dynamics, all the unemployed rural population will flood to cities and imagine the cities generating slums… what’s the other alternative for farmers? To work in industries that create even more pollution … meat and beef get exported… what vegetables get exported from India and how much does the farmer earn from that? The government and farmers have worked hard for decades to bring white revolution in India… don’t try to disrupt the rural economy just because u have fantasies of being mother Teresa of animal kingdom… here’s a link of how most of the dairy farmer work th-cam.com/video/dUM2WgU-uAE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pYsBsPFDlCLbYpM5

Hi, bro, in my village we leave the bulls to roam around the village, each village will have atleast 4 or 5 bulls which will roam free no one will hurt them, every one will feed them when ever that bull visits the home ,bulls fight among themself sometimes , they will mate with the cows whey they are in open fields, this happens atleast 50% of the houses who own cows, they are treated with so much care still tied up most of the times , the people who raise those cows don't raise them mostly for milk and they won't sell those milk to others as well even if they milk them, is this considerred ahimsa milk ? , this is one side of coin and the other side due to demand for milk some people are bringing in jersey cows and doing all the inseminations etc.. same goes for buffaloes, so what is the solution to this ? going vegan can reduce the milk demand and eventually people will sell these cows or buffaloes to again to slaughter houses and no one will care to protect them and people became greedy they won't protect or care about something if it doesn't matter to them, one solution I think is we should promote vegan along with some natural farming techniques like ones which subhash palaker are following where cows are raised only for their dung to fertilize the land and his techniques are great which are followed in ancient times in india which are ahimsa and it helps in dealing with some more problems like pesticides and plastic pollutions caused by detergents, soups, and clothes, and also helps in diverting farmers focus to grow various fruits , and crops other than just rice, it would impact planet in a better way if followed on large scale
