  • After TV producer Norman Lear's death at 101, the actors and the entertainment industry professionals he worked with during his long career in Hollywood are looking back at his influence on culture and entertainment in that period.
Lear is best known for transformative television projects including "All in the Family," "The Jeffersons," "Sanford and Son" and "Good Times."
Actor Demond Wilson, who starred alongside comedian Redd Foxx in the iconic American show "Sanford & Son" looks back on his time working with Lear and the change the show made to American culture.

Bullseye 🎯 !! Demond Wilson wasn't interested in glorifying Norman Lear or any other man and that's all that sitting puppet black news man wanted to hear and see and it was obvious and clear as day that he did...He truly didn't want to hear and know about nothing else Demond Wilson was speaking about...

It was a powerful scene in which he and Cleavon Little were smart guys who were robbing homes because of their circumstances not because they were bad guys. His negative, post Vietnam experience certainly painful and deserves acknowledgment. But Norman Lears' shows allowed us (Black people) to say it like it is out loud on TV. "Step Toe and Son" wasn't written about a. Black man, but transitioned beautifully on "Sanford and Son" , because doors were opened by successful Lear productions. We need those kind of sitcoms today!

I’m sure with whatever traumatic things he may have seen over there, along with the disparities of being a black veteran had it effects on him. As being a combat vet myself, I could only imagine the stress and pain he probably suffered as a man of his age now. From what I gathered, Norman wasn’t as hands on with some of his shows as perceived. @@d2d2d28 as I said before, he been through a lot during his time on this earth. Some people are better masking their pain than others, but who are we to say that a person’s bitter and negative having not walked a mile in his shoes? We all have our crosses to bear, and shouldn’t be judged how we carry them

Different type interview. His service in Vietnam wasn’t the topic. Maybe should have declined. The era may be over but the laughter from those shows lives on today. RIP Norman Lear and Condolences to his family.

No wonder he disappeared from the screen after Sanford & Son. Who'd want to work with that all day? Couldn't find someone who respected Mr Lear for this?

Demand Wilson still lives a bitter life. His era is over nobody even knew or wondered if he was still alive.
He truly had nothing to say about Norman regarding Sanford and Son.

      Demond was telling the truth
as he was there from start to finish,
and he is the only one still living
      from the show.🤷🏾‍♂️
He’s not the only one that said
      these things about Norman.
      Look at Eric Monte’s interview.
      He’s the REAL creator of
      “Good Times”.

BusterG-ov2wb:. Really the only reason I clicked on this video was because they were talking to Demond Wilson. I wanted to see what he looked like these days. He looked good and sounded good. This video only made me want to hear what Demond really wants to say. I will have to search TH-cam to see if he has been on anyone's podcast.

Bitter? No, he's very serious about his Faith and comes off unhappy. He's involved in Prison ministry and other pursuits.

I watched the very first Sanford and Son when it first premiered on NBC...and I watched it faithfully until the final show. Picked it right back up when it went into syndication and this is what I watch every night, everyday. I'll be watching it tonight along with Good Times and The Jeffersons. Sanford and Son will be my favorite show forever.
