  • I make a portable bandsaw stand from scrap, where the bandsaw is easily removed.

Thanks for sharing. I like the build, and WITHOUT any awful music in the background, or foreground, ftm. I also learned something today - that chamfering is what separates us from the animals. Aloha

Nice build. I share your joy in creating from scrap and making it your own.

tip: use 30x30 aluminum extrusion profiles if you want to make the job easier and without welders, lathes and stuff. all you need is your bandsaw to cut the profiles and an Allen key to assemble everything by using the fitting angle brackets for the profiles. Worked well for me 👍

But i really liked your video, the result is top notch 👌😄

Solid tip there. Easy to get hold of 30x30 and you could even 3d print brackets to hold it all together. Ill be doing this for mine.

I’ve been thinking of buying a portable band saw and your stand has sold me on the idea. Great job.

Excellent! A good sense of humor is essential for good metal work. Your at the top of the heap my friend, very entertaining.

You did a great job on that little table. Very simple and strong!

Hi, I will add to my comments. Your design is the most practical I have seen. I, like you, find that as the band saw is always available I use it very often. No more faffing about. I put velcro around the switch with a cord looped over the top mount and a piece of dowel on the end. I simply pull the dowel and the velcro comes off the swirch. Good for emergency stopping. Thankyou again. Good clear video and easy to hear your words (thanks to no music). Aussie Mal.

I have just made a copy of your band saw stand for my Vevor. I used felt/carpet like you did and a Velcro strap for extra security at the handle. Just starting on the table. Thankyou for this practical design. ( my TIG welds are not as neat as yours! )

Good to hear mate. I’ve been amazed how much I use it, now it’s sitting there and available.

This is pretty much exactly what I need.
When I started watching, I thought I was listening to Prof. Steve Keen as I'd just been listening to him earlier.

I cut my finger nail in half with a band saw about 50 years ago. I use a push stick now.

They could make make powertools more mod friendly by making them less curvy.

6:58 Hi & thanks for this video. I’m just wondering if the mod you made to the standard plate affects the use of the bandsaw in hand held mode?
    Cheers

    • @ShedBuiltStuff
      @ShedBuiltStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

No. The mod to the standard plate doesn’t effect using it in hand-held mode.
If anything, it helps to keep the saw more square when cutting.
