tip: use 30x30 aluminum extrusion profiles if you want to make the job easier and without welders, lathes and stuff. all you need is your bandsaw to cut the profiles and an Allen key to assemble everything by using the fitting angle brackets for the profiles. Worked well for me 👍
Hi, I will add to my comments. Your design is the most practical I have seen. I, like you, find that as the band saw is always available I use it very often. No more faffing about. I put velcro around the switch with a cord looped over the top mount and a piece of dowel on the end. I simply pull the dowel and the velcro comes off the swirch. Good for emergency stopping. I have just made a copy of your band saw stand for my Vevor. I used felt/carpet like you did and a Velcro strap for extra security at the handle. Just starting on the table. Thankyou for this practical design. ( my TIG welds are not as neat as yours! )

Solid tip there. Easy to get hold of 30x30 and you could even 3d print brackets to hold it all together. Ill be doing this for mine.

No. The mod to the standard plate doesn’t effect using it in hand-held mode.
If anything, it helps to keep the saw more square when cutting.
