    That is the best build I have seen for a band saw stand so far. Very good workmanship and it is shocking that he can be so productive in what appears to be the most disorganized and cluttered shop I have seen.

      Disorganized means you’re creative Very common to be a bit cluttered for a creative mind.

    Love the fact that you used the saw as you built the stand. Brilliant...

    Wondering if it’s better to have the blade slot from the front rather than the back. Lots of disassembly to just change a blade. Mind you the pre made tables have slots in the back. Your thoughts?

    I’ve watched a ton of these retrofit band saw tables and came up with a very similar design. Even the feet!! But I’ll add adjusting rubber feet underneath those flanges.
    Surprised you did t buy the King Canada saw. Much cheaper than Dewalt Personally think they’re all made in the same warehouse

      You’re also the only person to use the contour gauge. That’s unique.
      I’m shooting for 14x16. Think that’s decent enough for wider material

    You did a great job fabricating the band saw table. Thank you for sharing your work on the tube Sir. If able, can you please explain your process for marking the band saw screw holes to the metal plate? I know there's little room for error in marking and getting the holes on the plate to align perfectly to the existing threads on the band saw. I'd like to fabricate one of my own. I already own a band saw and I know having this set up will make life easier when cutting smaller parts. first time on your channel and I'm already a subscriber. I hope to see more of your work posted. Greetings from Matamoros, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

    • @docjfnoel
      @docjfnoel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The screws go into mobile bolts in a slot on the table (because the original little plate is a moving part) so the precision is not too crucial.

  • @bobfalk2896
    @bobfalk2896 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would like to build a similar table. Do you feel that the two screws holding the table on are strong enough? Seems like the full weight of the saw on those two screws is too much weight.

    • @docjfnoel
      @docjfnoel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for the comment! I've been moving the table everywhere in the shop for more than a year and I didn't have any issue.

    Does the saw have mounting holes?

    • @docjfnoel
      @docjfnoel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes if you remove the little black metal guide you can use the same bolts that are in a track to mount your new plate

    Beautiful work, thank you for this video. I was wondering how you adjusted the bandsaw on the table to get 90...was it the set screw that was off center of the 2 mounting screws? May I also know the silver paint you went with?

    • @docjfnoel
      @docjfnoel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      dm gmail yes I tapped a hole for another adjusting screw (13:10) to square the table. I bought the Rustoleom metal paint at the hardware store.

    • @TheMoomba19
      @TheMoomba19 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nice work. I saw you tapped a hole in the table for squaring it to the blade. What did the screw press against underneath to move the table? Additionally, you tightened the two screws that holds the saw to the table. Have you had any issues with the table being skewed because of those two screws? And (I'm full of questions because I just purchased this saw and am about to build a table myself) have you given any thought to developing a miter-cut fence system to the table? I have a large floor model band saw that is able to cut angles but takes two men and a boy to set it all up. Thanks.

    Great video! I am planning to build someting simillar for my bandsaw too, and this project looks the best so far :D Two years after release, is there anyting you would do differently or are you perfectly satisfied in the way it turned out?

    • @docjfnoel
      @docjfnoel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks! Nothing really to change for my use. Some mentioned the weakness due to only 2 screws but I've never had any problem and I move the saw from place to place in my garage without really taking care…

      @@docjfnoel oh I meant to clamp work onto the cutting surface of your band saw. You know for repeated cuts and such like a miter guide or saw guide

    I really don’t like this. Taking a portable saw and making it unportable. These dewalt portable saws are much more expensive than the regular vertical band saws. If you want a permanent vertical bandsaw then buy a cheap one and it’ll be better quality than this and bigger cutting capacity. Stands are good for swapping back and forth. Take it off the stand when needed and use it as portable saw then put it back on when you want stand. Permanently wiring the cord ruins it.

    What is the problem, do you not know how to speak....or is just to much work when editing. Everyone thinks they can make YT videos, but some are good and polished and other are just taking up space, and wasting everyone's time. BTW, who did those horrific welds? After making videos for 8yrs and only 303 subs, maybe it's time to retire...lol

      Not everyone participates on youtube for subscriptions and to show off their video filming, editing, or communication skills. Some people may have great ideas, projects, or skills that they want to share with the world in a way they feel comfortable with. If everyone followed your flawed perspective, youtube would not be as diverse, creative, or inspiring as it is today. There is no "100%Truth" worth sharing if all of it is degrading, negative, and unenlightened. Haters gunna hate and thats just a sad "Truth" :-/
