  • We built a better mount for our deep cut Milwaukee portable band saw!
    The problem with traditional bandsaw stand is that it is often a pain to switch between vertical or portable mode when you need! So we build our own version that enables us to choose the best mode depending on the project we are working on!

    I love the design! Please consider creating "Part 2," where you explain some of the details, such as how to set up the switch, why you chose to do certain things, etc.

    Excellent design. This is the best version of a benchtop stand for a handheld bandsaw I have seen. Been looking the past couple days at many versions trying to decide on which one suits me best. I think this one is the one for me. I like the switch you mounted which is a nice solution but I do also like the ones I have seen using a foot-operated switch. And you used armored cable which most do not bother to do, that is a plus and a good choice for a tool like this.

    Very nice portaband stand/table you made. The only thing I would change would be to orient the receptacle to stand vertical instead of facing up. The saw produces a lot of metal “dust” and the up facing receptacle will catch it.
    The attachment method for the cutting table is brilliant!!
    Thanks for sharing!

  • @richardhansen469

    Nice idea. Can you make it all out of thick aluminum plate so I can use it with water cooling? I'm looking to set up a battery operated portable bandsaw like this to dedicate for cutting aluminum. Without water cooling I'm finding that the aluminum work hardens as I cut, then the cut gets progressively worse. This video is a great idea, but could it have a drain tray, tank mount and water hose and all aluminum to not rust?

    • @KOPOprojects
      @KOPOprojects  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course everything is possible if you're a bit creative ! But I'm not sure that it's a work hardening/heat problem that you have. It sound like your blade gets clogged with aluminium chips as you cut. You should try cutting oil and a bigger TPI !

    The stand is great, but the last thing you want on a bandsaw table is a gap around the blade for small bits to get trapped in. I’ve never understood why so many do this? 🤷‍♂️

    • @KOPOprojects
      @KOPOprojects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's to give a bit of room for your blade to twist a little when you do curved cut but I agree that it's inconvenient when you work with small pieces
