- This was a 130km ride with the incredible Puig Major route thrown in as one of the four climbs. That climb is around 15km with around 850m of elevation. This is the video of the whole ride out.

You should visit Randa, San Salvador or Ermita de Betlem. Less known places on Mallorca, but really nice. cheers
Katie, a bit random I know but I have never seen a vid or whatever you would like to call it on the pros and cons of traveling abroad with a bike through the airport etc , why not hire a bike at the destination ??? those cases to put your bike in , at the airport do you have to wait longer for your bike to come off the plane???
Hi - I just noticed this whilst looking for some cycling inspiration (I actually should have been in Mallorca but the current coronavirus put a stop to those plans). Dave Scott She is one ambitious Rider. It takes a few Pounds to get to Mallorca, that's not a cheap place to visit. Portugal bang-for-the-buck is the cheapest place in civilized Europe. Nevertheless riding in Mallorca it supposed to be a special experience.

5:29 I have done a TT up that climb with a guy for Czech Republic 🇨🇿 that I met at the beginning of the climb! Pretty nice 👍🏾 and at that view point I made myself 3 new friends from Switzerland 🇨🇭 that saw my vegan cycling 🚵♀️ jersey! Then we went al the way to Sa Calobra to eat. Then I went to Lluc and return journey all the way back to the beginning of that climb! So climbing and descent on that smoooooooooooth tarmac on a sunny ☀️ day!

Well there was one part of today's ride that was way worse pot holes than anywhere in Manchester haha. It's been amazing - back home tomorrow! :(
How steep are those climbs and do you need more than an 28 or 30 in the back wheel if you have a 34 up front? Seems many people have pizza cutters in the back.
Mallorca is pretty steady and nothing steep, but I would always go for a lower gear to spin spin spin!!! :)

The audio and video were reordered together so wouldn't have been un-synced. It might be your internet connection - when mine isn't strong they don't tally up.
Hi Katie-I had never thought of your destination as good cycling area ,but you have opened my eyes and I look forward to duplicating your rides.Thanks for the pics and videos -John( I am very old and a lot slower but I can still get to the top of the climbs).
John that's what it's all about - it's not about times at all it's about enjoying the ride and getting out there. Let me know if you decide to visit - it's an incredible place for cycling! :)

do you have to do a bike tour in portugal we have many and many miles of virgin coast without the horrible sea front hotels and incredible landscapes with natural beaches with good waves to surf in contrast to our neighboring spain that destroyed all its coast with first class hotels and resorts, look at this link

Katie, do you guys take your own bikes or hire them ?
I always take my own bike! It's cheaper and much prefer using my now bike :) It's super easy to take it on a plane.
I guess if you live on a Grand Island like Great Britain going to Mallorca would be a Big Thrill. After living in Spain for 16 years the thrill goes away. Too many tourists for my taste.

Katie Kookaburra I have had serious issues with Spanish drivers fortunately nothing terribly violent, except for getting hit by their cars. I now wear a GoPro whenever I mount my bike. I really loved my road bike and it's fun to ride, but I have discovered the joys of trail riding on my cyclocross bike.
Katie Kookaburra Hello Kitty thank you very much I simply married well. With your adventurous Spirit you might consider exploring Asturias. Madrid does have some good cycling paths however they get congested on weekends. It's always better to get lost on some nice trail with no cars. God bless you and stay safe and keep pedaling.
Incidentally I haven't been to any of the Spanish Mediterranean Islands yet. I definitely respect what you're doing. I enjoy the photography and your experiences.

...you are a bit wrong with your pronunciation, so as requested. Soller is pronounced Soyer, Pollenca, Poyenca, and Lluc monastery pronounced Yuc. Double LL in Spanish is a 'y' as in Mallorca (Mayorca)
