Always love you two together. My derailleurs are still mechanical. My tires still get tubes (TPU) and my brakes are still clincher mechanical. I rarely ever have any issues and if I do, I can easily make an adjustment or repair and be back on the bike quickly. New isn't always turn out to be better and at least a half dozen times I've come across someone that has had a breakdown and no way to fix their issue on the side of the road.
I love how you both just rolled with all the mechanicals and still had a great day out!! I was super excited to see Juliet wearing 7mesh, of my local cycling kit companies, they make amazing stuff!
As a kid we briefly lived just outside Sheffield, and my parents took us on walks on the Dales at the weekend and always encouraged me by calling them 'Stu's rocks'. This video brought those memories right back. Thank you!
Watching the fathing was surprisingly cheerful! I also love the Dales. Done plenty of wild back packing there. Wide open views, bleakness and solitude is great, along with choc box villages, nice stone houses. And nice people!

I’ve followed Juliet for ages and spotted her camping vlog last week which lead me to your channel. Some rides just don’t want to happen. I headed out on a regular loop last Spring, punctured on my driveway….. fixed that and tried again…. Punctured the other tyre. Went to swap the tube only to find the brand new tube had a duff valve. Threw the towel in and walked home (turning the air blue) Love having your videos on in the background whilst working, when you get together with Juliet the vibe is superb and you can’t help but want to get out and ride
Laughing myself silly. Nothing beats a pre-ride series of mechanicals. Very happy you both pressed on...I've been known to abandon the day if several things go wrong before even starting the route. 😂 I'm old and cantankerous.

A few months ago, I bought 1 liter of sealant and a pack of plugs. Then decided that I would instead put inner tubes in my tires. I prefer to spend some time changing a tire than having to deal with leaks and all the liquid everywhere. BTW, I got cheap Chinese TPU tubes, the weight is probably similar to the weight you get with the sealant you would put in tubeless tires.
I have to say that the road surfaces up there in the Dales are stunning. Very different (positively) to the wheel-destroying roads we have here in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Gloucestershire.
Yeah the Dales are stunning! The last time i saw that viaduct it was a bit more painful though! Doing the 3 Peaks CX! Will have to ride it next time at a more comfortable pace! 👍
Massive Fred & George vibes this one !! Last time I checked we were nowhere near Christmas day.. and yet, it always feels so very Christmassy when you two are going at it togheter. At the very start you Katie were dishing out one climb after another, her bike must have snapped out of fright! You're right though, there's nothing like home; It is indeed your playground, you know its virtues as well as its flaws, you are aware of every one potholes or bushes that might stick out onto the carriageway, you can predict instinctively how drivers are going to react to your very presence on the road, you almost know them by name, you feel like you are in control and cruise past every hotspot. _Home_ is where your _heart_ is. The Dales, someday I will come back to the UK and stop for a visit! Grateful to witness WW (wise and witty) and KK once more togheter on a cycle expedition, wish many more are to come ! 🪄🪄 🎅🎁 😄 😊 👋 =]
Hawes really needs a Co-op! Whenever I ventured out that way the Spar closes at what 6pm I think!? I just end up at the Pizza place... but that's hardly a great spot for a camp resupply and Horton in Ribblesdale is equally annoyed. 12:19 - I wild camped on that hill at the Ribblehead Viaduct this Summer... don't bother unless you love midges!
Something similar happened to my rear mech when I swapped bikes on the turbo. Take the back wheel out, move the mech all the way to the smallest cog and put the wheel back in. It worked on mine, might be worth a try.
Fun fact about the Ribblehead Viaduct!...Every 6th Pillar along is 50% thicker than the rest. It was designed like this on purpose so that if any of the narrower ones collapse, the railway is still supported above!
Now that the Dolomitic "obsession" has been faced with bravery and defeated, glad to see you back home, safe and happy more than ever in your beloved Dales, with the nice company of Juliet (and the mechanics that play a role in avoiding routine)
The Yorkshire Dales is truly Gods own country. If they just invested in the road surfaces it could be a cycling Mecca, attracting top athletes and tourists from all over the world to train. Potholes 🤦♂️. Loving the content as always ❤
This is the third video I've seen where Juliet's wireless group set didn't work. Ditch the wireless group sets - they are shite! That viaduct was stunning!
It's because she's doing something wrong with it or to it as i also use a electronic groupset over the past 12 years & can't fault it, Shimano Ultegra & my latest version the Bluetooth wireless 8150 & not one problem with it since i installed it 8 mths ago 👍🏾

I cycled bits of all that last summer with a pal. We had sun with a cool wind, and then an hour of rain near the end. It's a great biking area but still not as good as many areas of Scotland...
👎electronic shifting and tubeless tires! Those battery operated pumps work very well especially if you charge them once in a while! 😂 Looks like a beautiful ride!
Always fancied riding the dales, but I am nearly 60 years old with a mountain bike, so worry the hills may be too much. I Only really got into cycling in the last few years so have left it a bit late
Is Fleetwood moss from the south not count as a major climb? I cycle in a lot of these places regularly over the years, wharfedale in particular, but have only been up Fleetwood moss twice, and never Park Rash (though that is not so much the climb and more about committing to doing a really big loop and what if i have a mechanical 50 miles from home, and worry)

Used them for a while and love them! Not great for Gran Canaria and they get shredded :( but they are so good and not had any punctures in ages!
