    I moved to Mallorca from the UK 20 years ago next year (still working, not retired). You're right about going on holiday. I've stopped visiting other islands in the Mediterranean, as I think I might live on the best one. I honestly think I enjoy it more every year. The cycling is great of course, but there is so much to enjoy winter and summer. It worked for us. Come back soon.

    The object at Puig Major is a radar station I believe. Also, had you continued on through the tunnel, the descent to Soller is superb. Makes for a long journey back though as you have to climb back out of Soller, which ever way you go.. Makes me wanna re-book and get back out there!

    • @LivandTrekGoCycling
      @LivandTrekGoCycling  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. Thanks for commenting. I learnt later on it was a radar station. I hope to do that descent into Soller one day, never done it before. It's a great place to ride isn't it 🚴👍

    Fab video. The second reservoir is called Cuber, and once a year or so there is a limited sportif to the top of the mountain to the radar station. The highest point on the island. The road is closed for the rest of the year. ..and if you are into hiking, there are some amazing trails and places to stay overnight in the high mountains.

    Great video with some stunning scenery. I've only ridden Puig Major (Or Pig Major, as it's known 🤣) once, but it was a beautiful climb. I did it from the Port de Sóller side.

      Thanks for watching it Jon and for commenting. Glad you enjoyed it. Pig Major is an apt name I'm sure 😆. I regret not having experienced this climb from the Port de Soller side.👍

      Was lovely to watch. Haven't been back for a few years now, and really miss it. Was lovely seeing it all again. If you get the opportunity, and you haven't done so already, Port de Sóller is well worth a visit. It's where I choose to base myself when I go over..... Just a little bit different compared to Port de Pollença. Oh, and you don't have a long ride to get into the Tramuntana region.

      @LivandTrekGoCycling  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've visited Port de Soller previously but as a car tourist, not a cyclist. It's one of the prettiest towns on the island I think 👍

      Thanks Dunc. I found it a better ride when I went through the tunnel down to Soller. The climb back up Puig was great. I found it an easier climb than Sa Calobra. 🚴👍

    Shame about the frame damage. For us the bikes are tools for enjoyment and each blemish tells a story but I know you look upon your bike as your pride and joy. Good luck with the fix... Maybe a tiny sticker on the underside of the repair "Puig Major 2023" 😂
    Ps a hairband doubled around drop and brake lever works great as a handbrake and you can't see it when riding.

    • @LivandTrekGoCycling
      @LivandTrekGoCycling  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The annoying thing about the frame damage was the fact I didn't even get the photo I was after 🤔. Good idea about the hairband handbrake 'hack' 👍

      Hi Terry, thanks for commenting. I appreciate your feedback 👍. I would have preferred to ride Puig Major from the Soller direction and that way, to have done the long ride but I was coming from the wrong direction for that. Yes, the bike I was riding in this video is my Emonda...slightly damaged during the rid 😭. New video coming out on how bad the damage was, how I got it repaired and how much it cost 😲
