I love the fever scene, it really makes you think that someone really did have to be watching over castaways lost at sea for them to make it through. That warmth provided by a higher being. And i love the detail of Odysseus cutting his hand then later having hermes grab it when referencing washing away the blood on his hands and him wincing!!!
Aeolus being there just makes this a an oceanic road trip more than a perilous journey across the ocean to see Penelope and I'm absolutely down for that❤
I LOVE the idea of Hermes And Aeolus traveling WITH Odysseus and understanding the struggle he feels. ❤ I know you're not saying they really ARE, but it's such an adorable visual and I abolutely love it.
Hermes looks amazing. I love how you included Aeolus, it's a unique touch. Also, that is a trio I didn't know I needed. Look how they take care of Ody. Proud grandparents moment. This is definitely one of the best animations I've seen of this song.
I adore every second of this. Hermes coming to Ody and beeing serious is something I've only saw here. Also, Hermes waiting for Ody to leave Calypso island has such an inpact. It's like he's telling him 'Let's get you out of here first, you been though more than enough on this island, now it's time to go and never return'. Just finished watching the premiere! That was so good!!! Aeolus appearing caught me by surprise, such a great idea!!!! The way Hermes and Aeolus are constantly looking after Odysseus like he's their son melted my heart! I just want to see more of that trio now! You really showed how much chemistry they all have! Loved it! The harpies were a fun addition! And Hermes stepping in front of the screen to censor Odysseus stabbing them had me laughing a lot! Your version of Odysseus is so efficient and deliberate with his strikes too. He is no nonsense with everything. The poor man just wants to make it back to his wife and son. And then when those flashbacks came in at the end, I literally got goosebumps. That was fabulous! Can't wait to see what you do for the Ithaca Saga! -Red Sapphire

Watching this and then rewatching 600 Strike made me think of a question that several reactors have asked when they reacted to Dangerous. The question being, "Why give him the bag if they didn't want him to open it again?" And I have a theory. I think that they knew that Poseidon would be there. "When strangers lurk around the isle, when danger greets you with a smile, fight your way through, do what you must do but no matter what keep moving". Obviously the strangers around isle are the suitors, but the danger greeting him with a smile has to be Poseidon. Knowing that he would be there when Ody got close to Ithaca, I think he was given the bag to give him the edge in fighting Poseidon, using Poseidon's storm (and Aeolus's wind) against him to make Poseidon submit and abandon his vendetta against Ody. Poseidon's whole vendetta was Ody not getting the job done and having mercy on his son instead of killing him and dishonoring Polyphemus and Poseidon. The only way Ody was going to win was if Poseidon admitted defeat and called off the storm himself, resolving the vendetta. It also gives the line "You won't get another time to try" more meaning because, if Ody opened the bag and lost the fight, he wouldn't get another time to try because he'd be dead by Poseidon's hand.

I’ve never seen Hermes with a headband. I like this take on his design. Also I like how you give Aeolus a more active role in him getting home and they also seem to feel guilty for the whole incident in “Keep Your Friends Close.” It definitely humanizes Aeolus much more. Also was him cutting himself like self punishment or something? You keep improving with every animatic I keep on finding a new best animatic from you. Amazing work again Britt!

IS THAT BEST CLOUD FREN AEOLUS? Ahh, its animation by now not an animatic xD I love these interpertations of how some songs can go. I am kinda surprised they didn't reprise a line or two during this saga but its so cool to see em along. Some people do view their act of sending Ody and crew away back then like evil, but it just fit their nature I think than actual evil - in dealing with a god, there is always a reason they offer it.
I personally don't see why people view Aeolus as evil,,, like, she and Odysseus played their game and she won, Odysseus's crew opened the bag, and mind you, she didn't even tell them to open the bag, it was her winions! And whilst yes, she should've controlled them, but, they still have free will!

I have so much to say about this! It's absolutely incredible! I love all the flashbacks you do, giving the vibe that he is really thinking and that the events have really impacted him! I love when Hermes throws his hat and shows his face, and he reminds me of a younger friend who is having fun but is serious at the same time! And the little bit that you had at the end with Hermes crying and saying, "He's grown up so much!" with Aeolus comforting him was sweet and funny! I love the teamwork you had between the three! I really love that you had Aeolus almost shy when she was trying to help. It made it very sweet! I could go on and on and on, but then the comment would be WAY too long 😂 Amazing Britt! ❤
@Kayla_daughter_of_Hermes that's good! I'm doing well, had an absolutely exhausting day yesterday day. It's was photo day for my musical, a 4 and a half hour long practice, constantly on our feet. But it was fun! There was one time, we just finished our scene in out Castle Servant costume (I'm a Napkin) and 2 scenes right after that was a Wolf scene. Well, we got changed, base peices and everything, then they called for the Castle Servants to take photos. So we had to go BACK to our other costume in a very short amount of time! Lol How has your production been going?
One thing I loved and I don't know if you meant to put this in, but when Ody gets sick and Hermes stays by his side to help him get better, or when he heals the cut in the beginning, does allude to Hermes being associated with medicine on account of his staff. Historically, it's another god who is associated with medicine, but Hermes got the credit by mistake lol!
Hermes is the god of travellers which is the staff with a single snake, which is what is actually often depicted on ambulances. The 2 snakes with the staff is for medicine which I think is where the confusion comes from.
Actually I didn't care much for this song but with your animation - omg, I love it so much!!! Your Hermes design is gorgeous (as all your male characters!) and the way he and Aeolous keep Odysseus company and help him out is just so cute and wholesome! I love it very very much! I had quite a few favorite bits to this! 1st: It looks like this is one of your best so far! The mobility of the characters, of the camera angles, and the EXPRESSIONS! They're top-notch! Thank you! 2nd: Aeolus just quiet but happy to be there is just all of us XD 3rd: Odysseus, as freakin' always, is so expressively presented and it's awesome. The time passing shows us a lot of his voyage and how much he has to combat, including his own weakness and weariness. His determination is inspiring, especially when he sees Penelope and knows there is no turning back or compromising. It's beautiful. Thank you for this animatic! It's a work of art.

It was probably Zeus feeling guilty for almost killing her daughter, Athena. So he asked Hermes to send ody the message that he's free and to take a little help from aeolus. Please note that I am talking about epic Zeus and not the actual myth Zeus who is much worst in comparison... Whenever I say stuff like this people keep on pitting actual myth against my theories.

The time passing shows us a lot of his voyage and how much he has to combat, including his own weakness and weariness. His determination is inspiring, especially when he sees Penelope and knows there is no turning back or compromising. It's beautiful.

So he asked Hermes to send ody the message that he's free and to take a little help from aeolus.
Please note that I am talking about epic Zeus and not the actual myth Zeus who is much worst in comparison... Whenever I say stuff like this people keep on pitting actual myth against my theories.
