I love how almost all of them are just literally playfighting. Especially love how Apollo and Athena are literally not even trying to hurt each other, just doing the most "rule of cool". Was really awesome seeing that they actually care about each other, and it seems like even Ares and Athena aren't bitter enemies here, just rivals.

Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact the pantheon finally feels like a family here? You can tell there's actual familial love between each of them!
Yes! They interact as "people" who've known each other for a very long time and that will be together at the end. They disagree and fight and eventually punch, but they really care for the other. I love specially when Athena offer a hand to Ares.
I absolutely LOVE the way you incorporated Aphrodite into this! Not only is she the goddess you'd least expect to surprise Athena, but she pools her powers with Ares and lets him fight with and for her, explaining why Athena addresses both of them at the end of their segment. And the gods' sportsmanship after each fight really sells that they're immortal siblings who can unleash all-out attacks on each other, then brush it off and laugh about it. They were all genuinely rooting for her (which also explains why some of them got convinced so easily). It's such a lovely little subversion of the gods' usual egoes, and it contrasts perfectly with Zeus' pride at the end. He's so insecure he takes this rare instance of Olympian solidarity as a threat to him and how he rules. It makes you realize that the only one who benefits from the gods' feuds is their king. After all, the king of the titans (Kronos) was usurped by Zeus for being a tyrant. Perhaps Zeus saw the Olympians marching toward him, united, and for a moment, wondered it was his turn on the end of the scythe.
If you look at the start when Athena is walking towards Zeus, you can see a statue of Zeus holding a baby with Athena's owl symbol just like the final shot
That small detail during the fight where her left eye turns yellow and the other remains blue. I really interpret this heterochromia as signifying how she's Zeus' daughter, so she has access to his power, manifested in a different manner given her own abilities. But it's still just as potent and capable of standing up to his own when she wields them, hence the blue as well. Such a tiny detail, and especially how Zeus has his eye scarred where she struck his thunder face! Awesome animatic!

3:40 i literally gasped at the transition from athena's hair to zeus'. its such a brilliant way to show their mythological relation of daughter and father
god i LOVE how this plays into the fact that the gods are indeed just a big messed up family !! a lot of the other animatics leave out the empathy and the emotion but i ADORED THIS ONEE !!! the aphrodite and hephaestus designs had me SQUEALING this was a treat THANK YOUUU
Ares calling out for Athena when she's fighting Zeus is such a unique detail! Especially since it's Ares who asks if she's dead after Zeus's initial blow. I love that
I always liked the interpretation that Ares and her have a special relationship as war gods. When Zeus asks if everyone is up for a game, most of the Gods just agree with little fanfare, but Ares sounds straight up excited and eager. He wants a chance to go head to head with his big sister (chronologically speaking, Athena is Zeus' first child, while Ares is one of the last) to show her what he can do. There is little actual malice there, Athena is just seen as the favorite, while Ares is actually considered kind of a screw up. But she can see he tries, and she respects that.
The way that Athena, after all the fighting, just hugs Zeus is getting to me so bad. And the way he falters, not expecting anything but to be fought with, and relents and can be seen carrying her in the credits…aughh
imo it gets even worse when you notice the statue at 0:10 is zeus holding baby athena. But while in that statue he holds her along her helmet like proud of what she can become, now he is holding her weak and clearly sad about the state of his dear daughter
So many awesome details: Apollo is basically just chilling out and clearly isn’t super invested in the drama, so he and Athena (arguably the two most revered deities of Ancient Greece) just have a friendly spar. Hephaestus piloted a goddamn Mech Suit. Nothing else needs to be said. Aphrodite isn’t just a passive force in this animatic like others, but is just as lethal as any other God. She isn’t just a symbol of romance, she is a Goddess of Chaos, of Emotion, of Impulse. Had Athena not used her Domain Expansion, she would’ve been cooked. Ares actually manages to distinguish himself uniquely from Athena as God of War. While Athena is a symbol of the perfect warrior, of elegance and bravery, Ares is the true nature of war: an encompassing presence of terror and death. The way his face acts as negative space within his helmet is masterfully done. Hera unleashing a torrent of arms in the visage of a Peacock, to strike down from all directions, really does demonstrate his power as Queen of the Gods. All of the Gods emerging behind Athena, not being passive observers like in other adaptations but in clear support of the winner of Zeus’s game is a nice touch. Zeus, of course, is the absolute personification of pride and power. This is a man who can do whatever he wants whenever he wants with zero repercussions. I always thought it was weird how Zeus got so angry from Athena beating his entirely reasonable challenge (why give her a clearly achievable aim if you weren’t going to tolerate her winning) but here it’s demonstrated clearly: All the gods are supporting Athena against HIM, the KING OF THE GODS. How dare they act like he is compelled to do something, to feel responsibility, to win his game! Athena is by far my favorite part of the animatic. She is the heir to Olympus, the most powerful of Zeus’s children, the Goddess of Wisdom and War, and it thus makes sense only she could actually land a blow upon Zeus. And with a smile on her face no less! Yet her strike was tempered into a compassionate embrace, a kindness that Odysseus and Telemachus helped her discover. And it managed to break the resolve of the God King himself. 10/10 Animatic, love it, incredible.
Yess, I thought like wow bold to make Athena win but in reality it was a daughter asking for his father help, reminds me of how in Skyrim, dragons fighting is just a discussion
@@trla6505Exactly, in the original myth, this was all just a discussion, with Athena begging her father to go behind Poseidon, his brother’s, back and release Odysseus from Calypso’s island. Zeus, being moved by his daughter, and the tale of Odysseus’ families plight, finally agrees, not for the sake of Odysseus, but for his daughter, and Odysseus’ family, who desperately needed him. This is at its core not a battle, but a court hearing, with a very controversial topic being hotly debated by everyone involved. It’s a daughter asking her father to ignore his misgivings about the defendant, and trust her.
HOLY THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! 2:01 I LOVEEE the detail of Hephaestus giving Athena a pop-up shield with a Medusa carving, it’s a lovely detail and kind of a great moment between them since we can see Hephaestus kind of smirk when he sees Athena checking it out.
That’s shields called Aegis! It’s Athena’s mythological shield made from a bronze casting of medusas head and could protect against basically anything!
0:11 - The statue of Athena as a baby and Zeus holding her with different necklaces to show it!? (Athens was an owl, Zeus was a thunderbolt) THAT IS SUCH A SMALL DETAIL AND I LIVE FOR THAT!! It shows Zeus's true care and love for Athena even when giving her a bit of tough love with Odysseus! Such a good animatic!
@@passerinity I think it would actually be the other way around, with Aphrodite. Zeus would possess something akin to her. Since she is, technically, the last child of Uranus, being born from sea foam when Cronus castrated him. Meaning she completely pre-dates every other Olympian.

And a myth of Athena's birth story even says that just like the other gods, Hera rejoiced upon seeing Athena come out of her dad's head At least she loves her like an actual child, and yes considering that she was a child of Zeus BEFORE he married Hera, that means she doesn't hold a grudge against Athena.
I really like how you chose to portray the bonds between the various gods! Rarely are they depicted as a family that ultimately cares for one-another, despite their differences and disagreements, but that's the sense I get here. It's a very refreshing take, and your designs are excellent. Thank you!
Im pretty sure that is a nod to the "Radahn, Consort of Miquella" fight in the the Elden Ring DLC it took me a sec to notice that and if im wrong oh well.
i love how all the hands coming out of hera looks like a peacock, because she’s the goddess of peacocks, and damn it looks awesome. Plus, the giant hephaestus mech robot with the forge drawn at its back behind him is amazing, because the fire and the circle of the forge’s opening feels like a halo for him. not a halo he was born with, but a halo he built through hard work by himself. it’s just amazing. I love every second of it.
I honestly can't even decide my favorite part! Having actual fight sequences was fantastic all around, but the way you tailored each of them was perfection. Apollo having his Lyre double as a bow was absolutely brilliant and the fact that he mostly just seemed to care about his music and doing trickshot archery was accurate AF. Hephaestus having a freaking mech suit is beyond epic and stopping Athena to give her the shield (that has Medusa's face on it) after she wins is such a great detail! Aphrodite actually being depicted as a fighter is up there for my favorite moments. She's a Spartan War Goddess- of course she can fight! Ares doesn't love her only for her looks. Speaking of Ares, his helmet being a freaking SKULL was truly incredible, and the way he and Aphrodite effortlessly teamed up to fight Athena was possibly my favorite of all of these favorites. The details of how she curls around him while also giving him a weapon in her signature pink- and how he rocks that pink WITH PRIDE brings me such an indescribable sense of joy! And the smile Ares had when Athena helped him up was such a sibling thing to do! Hera giving the appearance of a peacock before it splits into a series of fighters is top freaking tier. But I think my favorite the fact that, when she's introduced, Zeus swipes her away after surrounding himself with his "court of clouds." This gives that much more meaning to her saying "Release him" the second fidelity (of which she is Goddess of) is mentioned because he disregards her openly in a variety of ways and wants to reward those who are like, "Yeah, I have a type... IT'S MY WIFE! NOW BEGONE THOT!" The way they all feel like a real family. And how even though they fight, they still stand together when it's all said and done. It probably gave Zeus flashbacks to when Apollo, Poseidon, Hera, and Athena tried to overthrow him (which is how the walls of Troy were built to begin with) which is why it's easy to understand why he'd snap like that. The way Athena's left eye changed to show she'd been struck was fantastic, and ending their fight with her hugging Zeus was so dang beautiful! AND NOT BABY ODYSSEUS WITH PUPPY ARGOS 😭😭😭 AND THEN TELEMACHUS BEING A PERFECT CINNAMON ROLL 💀 I literally cannot give this enough praise, so please accept my genuine appreciation for all of these details (and more), plus your incredible talent in animation! You have made my favorite Epic music videos thus far and I can't wait to see if/when you do more!

I love the detail of Athena's eye turning gold like Zeus'. She came from his mind, and in battle is every bit his daughter. Also Athena playing the favorite child card at the end, very nice lol
Ares and Athena seem like standard siblings here. Which is really refreshing to see, since the gods are rarely shown to act like a family, and are instead shown to be gladiators out for each other That and the fight scenes man... I just woke up and got chills from them and the small details one of the best Epic Animatics creators indeed.
I love how the father and daughter have the same hairstyle and how Athena hugs Zeus during the "Please" part, it's so CUTE. The credits where the father holds his daughter are also CUTEeeeee I CANT BREATH AHHHH I LOVE IT

OH GLORIOUS The designs of the gods are just spectacular!! Hephaestus with the broken skull and mech suit, Aphrodite using her reflection in water to fight, the shot of Hera with hands behind her like a peacock, Ares having a broken sword that Aphrodite fixes, the respect Ares and Athena have as sibling gods of war. Just so many things I could gush over
EVERYTHING IS SO CAREFULLY WELL DONE! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HEPHESTUS DESIGN I think a key detail people keep forgetting when drawing hephestus is the fact that he's deformed, and the fact that he's missing parts of his head is such a good touch. I also love the fact that in this rendition we get to see Ares' face, and the clouds surround Zeus, Aphrodites's powers, Hera's reaction regarding this whole ordeal. It's all just so perfect!
Okay, on second viewing…my actual favorite part is that Athena, right up till the end, when she’s starting to pass out? She can’t restrain a smile. She’s *enjoying* this! And it makes perfect sense! She’s a war god to her bones, and an intellectual besides, and, according to the Orestia, the first ever legal judge on top of that; of course she relishes being in a series of challenging fights while also having a debate, regardless of the stakes. She’s never been more in her element.

Damn, that's art. Here's the details I noticed! The only statue given airtime at the start is Zeus holding Baby Athena, all the other statues are of Zeus showing off. Hephaestus' cracked head from when Hera threw him off Mount Olympus as a baby, and in some legends he was the one who made Athena's Aegis. Aphrodite's Mirror has a second mirror at the top, and the weapon she uses is a dagger which was considered an intimate weapon used in crimes of passion by the Greeks Ares' armor is made of torn animal parts as the god of violence and he uses an "unsportsmanlike" headbutt in the fight. Also Aphrodite fixing his "sword"? Nice innuendo. Hera's arms resemble her sacred animal, the peacock. The planet in the background of the final fight could be Jupiter, which is Zeus' roman name. Athena has a matching eye to Zeus at the end, possibly being his daughter is how she survives the lightning? Athena, the unemotional goddess of wisdom, wins the games without any armor and appealing to emotion, despite her leaving Odysseus in "My Goodbye" for being reckless and sentimental. I love these animatics so very very much.
HER HUGGING HIM AT THE END!!! AND HOW YOU COULD SEE ARES KEPT PROTECTING APHRODITE AND HOW SUPPORTIVE HE WAS TO ATHENA DURING HER FIGHT AGAINST ZEUS 🥹🥹🥹
Okay but seriously this might be the coolest most polished thing I’ve ever seen!! I could write a whole deep dive over six pages about this but I’ll just share a few of my thoughts. First I love the designs you made for all of the gods: Athena and Zeus having the same hair texture to show their relation as father and daughter is genius, love that. I like how you had Apollos halo look both like the sun and cow horns. I love how you straight up had Aphrodite naked but incorporated physical design elements to actually cover her, makes her feel less like just a pretty lady and more like a goddess. The design of Hephaestus having a broken head like a cracked pot is incredible and now I keep imagining his head containing molten lava used in forging (following along the line of his myth do you think he once had molten lava so hot and mystical in his head before his head then was cracked open?) Second the way you designed each fight section was brilliant! The fight choreography is beautiful and fast paced and if I even try to describe each bit we would be here waayyy too long; just know you ate. The powers you gave the gods really interested me; the bow fight with Apollo was attention grabbing and Hephaestus fighting with a mech was so obviously right yet not in my brain at all! I love how you had Aphrodite and Ares fight mostly as one being since their sections are so intertwined. I could wax poetic about the symbolic meaning of Ares, symbol for war, carrying a broken sword that only truly becomes dangerous when matched with Aphrodite, symbol for passion/love, for the rest of eternity. Truly brilliant. Having Hera get this hoard of back up dancers introduced as a fan of hands is way too cool. I love how it shows both a popular dance move that kinda fits with her style of music but also evoking peacock imagery. Truly a big brain moment! The Third (and final) point which is just an assortment of things. The end fight scene must have taken so much time you are absolutely insane for animating all of that. That’s professional levels of work, I hope your hand is okay. The character interaction you put in here make the gods seem so human and is an element I haven’t seen in other god games animatics. It definitely adds to rewatch value! I really like how you draw mouths and will be incorporating that into my own art so thank you for that! I don’t know what the first scene with Athena is doing in the background but I will be rewatching in order to properly appreciate it! (Is it a bunch of statues of Zeus? Very in character if so) I’m just now realizing how Athena, Zeus, and Hera all have bird motifs which is very interesting especially in the characterizations you’ve given them. That hug destroyed me. Thanks. Once more thank you for making this! A true work of artistry that I have not nearly shown enough of my fascination and love for. My favorite part was the Hera’s peacock of warrior minions. Of course the queen of the gods and the goddess of queens wouldn’t do her own fighting if she didn’t feel like it. Also love how Aphrodite and Ares went full Twin Princes of Lothric in their tag team, the final blow being a tackle-hug that snapped Zeus out of his rage and made him actually look at the very permanent-looking scar he left on his daughter, Ares shouting desperate encouragement, Hephaestus casually slipping Athena a collapsible Aegis-really, all of this is so blindingly good it beggars belief.
i actually love you so much neal. like what the fuck. this is literally insane? from the character design, to the fluid movements, to literally EVERYTHING. i am genuinely so in love. like holy shit, each and every one of their concepts were clearly so well-thought of, executed in the BEST WAY and overall just drop-dead gorgeous. i am so so so in-love with athena, hera, and aphrodite, while being completely mesmerized by apollo and ares. i am so smitten with aphrodite and ares' concept, of being two peas in pod (despite aphrodite's actual husband being right there, i would def choose his brother ngl,...) and aphrodite providing the blade for ares' hilt, was so UGRHSAUDBSN i can't. and hera having her background dancers be the fighters? fucking amazing. apollo's concept with the bow, the sirens, I CANNOOTOTT and hephaestus' concept with him being a giant robot thing pays close attention to the detail of the fact he's literally the god blacksmithing, which would mean that he's probably made so much shit over the years to keep himself safe.. you are amazing never die like actually. AND THE FIGHTING SCENE BETWEEN ATHENA AND ZEUS. OH MY DAYS. i cannot. the idea of athena using her animal form to seem like she's about to punch her father (which she kind of does, regardless,) but actually hugged him, i was screaming and crying and throwing up. in a good way. your art is absolutely sublime, you capture the gods in the most accurately celestial way i've ever seen. AND AND THE FAMILIAL LOVE BETTWEN ARES AND ATHENA ACTUALLY WARMED MY HEART SO MUCH I CANNOT. people always portray them as enemies, but at the end of the day, they are still family. they still love each oher, you cannot convince me they don't. and ares being worried about athena?? and athena hugging her dad despite gaining a HUGE scar from him?? i heart love so so so sosos so so much. along with athena having some aspects of zeus, literally portraying a bit of him during the fight scene between her and her brother+his lover... i am so inlove w this musical and especially this animatic.
The sad part was when Zeus was turning into Beast Mode and Hera couldn’t watch them fight. It’s probably heartbreaking to see your husband and daughter fight each other to the death in front of you. Not only that, I’m pretty sure they all knew Zeus wasn’t going to play fair. But overall, this was definitely worth the wait!
Athena isn't actually Hera's child, Athena was born before they got married and emerged fully formed and in armor, so more like oh no, one of the few gods I genuinely like is fighting Zeus
OMG there's so much amazingness here, but that hair turn transition at 3:39 made me legit gasp as well as Zeus' eyebrow raise at "What do you say?" And I absolutely love that ending with Athena hugging him because she absolutely is a daddy's girl in the mythology! 1000x worth the wait!
My guy, when I tell you I had to make NOTES to keep track of all the little things I absolutely friggin LOVE about this animatic! Zeus posing for his own statues at the entrance? Hilarious. The quick glimpse of Zeus holding baby!Athena at 0:11? Adorable, and a nice hint that there's more affection here than we normally see. How many owls can fit in one Athena? I count 7, but I could be wrong. All of the god designs were gorgeous, of course, and I especially love Apollo's lyre-string cape? Ribbons? Things? the cracks in Hephaestus from being tossed down Olympus? all of the hands around Aphrodite? The fact Ares has 1.5 swords instead of a shield? I didn't even bother to try and count the peacock feathers in Hera's design, I lost track at, like 10. And Zeus with his best smirk at 1:09 is particularly nice. Apollo releasing his final arrow and Athena slicing it in time with the music at 1:31? Fantastic, made that attack *feel* powerful. Hephaestus mech is amazing, and Medusa shield! Aphrodite being both hands and eyes, very cool and creepy. The Aphrodite and Ares double team? All's fair in love and war? Beautiful, especially when we get big old Ares fighting with a pink sword. 2:50 Athena used Headbutt! It was not very effective! And Athena only making progress against Ares when she puts the shield away and throws herself totally into the battle when he insults Telemachus is another very nice touch. That beautiful smile at 2:58 is also great. And we get the sense there is real affection between Ares and Aphrodite, too, with how he shields her from Athena's blast and how Athena helps them both up. Hera's peacock warriors are amazing, of course, and neat that she has blue-green eyes almost like Athena instead of something like purple, another royal, feminine, color. Seeing Odysseus grow up through Athena's eyes at 4:23, especially him wearing her owl pin, and how similar he and Telemachus look, was heartbreaking. Aphrodite holding Ares back was another show of affection, and Ares yelling something at 4:40? 'Stop' maybe? (edit: or her name. smh I'm dumb) And that grin at 4:55 proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Athena is Zeus' child, holy crap. And the hug! With the scars Athena put on Zeus being similar to her own (both got left eyes scarred, Zeus' left wrist as well) I wonder if Zeus has one blue eye to match Athena's one yellow eye? This is fantastic, I love every second of it, and I have to go watch it another ten times. Beautiful work, amazing story-telling, and a wonderfully unique twist on a song we've seen so much of already. Out of all the Gods designs, Hephaestus has to be my favorite one. To me it’s the most creative of them all with him looking like a broken clay pot and then having a giant robot be his workshop is so cool! This animatic was definitely worth the wait, can’t wait to see more!

The Ares x Aphrodite team up with her powers extending/completing his sword (bc their whole relationship in the pantheon is the idea that people go to War for those they Love), THE PEACOCK FAN TAIL??? FOR HERA??? THAT EACH WARRIOR IS REMINISCENT OF A PEACOCK FEATHER??? OH U COOKED AND U KNOW IT.
AND MORE. The battle between Athena and Zeus is so :(((((((((( oml. The rest of the family crying out to Athena, Hera being unable to watch as her husband and daughter fight so viciously. THE REVEAL OF SCARS THAT WERE GLAMOURED AWAY??? THE GLAMOURS DROPPING AS THEY PUT ALL THEIR POWER INTO THE FIGHT. I've seen depictions of Athena's soft pleading to Zeus being her on her knees and him looking at her in disdain/neutral as he's defeated, but the idea that she wins by getting to thru to his heart being represented as her owl form diving into the chest of titan-- and then her hugging him and his enraged expression softens and he lays a hand on her back. Because he is the God-King, but he is also her father, and dearest Athena rarely asks for anything. When your daughter finally asks you for help, can you bear to tell her no? AAAAA ANYWAY I FUCKING LOVE THIIIISS WHAT THE FUUUCCK

Once again AMAZING how dynamic the animation is! I think this is the first animatic I've seen where Athena is fighting ALL the gods, not just Ares and Zeus. And even the small details with baby Athena and Hephaestus giving Athena her shield. BRILLIANT!

There are like millions of things I loved about this animatic, so let me name just a few. I LOVE Athena's design. She is so beautiful and reminds me of my aunt, whom I lost. I love every design and the fight choreography of every god too. I love how Aphrodite and Ares become one in a fight. In spartan mythology, Aphrodite was a war goddes. Also, pink sword. I love Hephestus mecha armor. Hera has style similar to hinduism. It reminds me of peacock, which was her symbol, and it comes from india. Zeus being surounded by his lovers. The familiar love they shared, especially the hug and Ares calling for Athena. The statues were used similarly to family photos. Ah, so many details. This is a pute masterpiece. Just a cheff's kiss.
This was so COOL. It's funny, but I was telling my partner how I would do an animatic if I could draw, and yours hit _every bullet point_ and more! Your designs were stellar, the action was amazing, and the character interactions were beautiful. You absolutely blew me away. Literally as Athena ascended the steps, I was feeling that excitement. I kept thinking YES. YES YES YES. THAT'S WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE. -Zeus waving his hand toward the sky to begin introducing them was the moment I knew it'd be good. I lamented that wasn't happening in other animatics from what I saw. I saw your Thunder Bringer animatic, and Zeus' design was so cool, that I wondered if you made another and this popped up! My guy sitting on a throne made of cloud-women was chef's kiss, because he would. -I loved Apollo's design and his cheeky little brother attitude. I loved that his half-halo resembled a sun and you incorporated his lyre and archery into one neat instrument. I don't know if this makes sense, but Apollo looks the _most_ related to Athena and Zeus, it's his jawline and profile. While we don't see Artemis, I have the feeling that if someone looked at Athena, Apollo and Artemis, you'd see Zeus in their faces and I thought that tied their genetics together. Same with Hera and her biological sons, Ares and Hephaestus, they look like parent and child as well. -Hephaestus having a GIANT mech was so on point, and his design was so cool--like he has a missing piece of his head from the fall as an infant. Hephaestus giving Athena the Medusa shield! Oh that sent me. Like he's still her sibling so he's going to look after her, and Athena holding him in one arm while he pouted was adorable, since they're normally considered no-nonsense deities. More so since he gave her the shield just before she went up against the goddess who broke his heart, very fitting. -Aphrodite and Ares are my weaknesses--I've had a soft spot for them since my childhood, so I'm _very_ picky about their portrayals; I've seen a few since I found the musical about a month ago. Yours? GORGEOUS. I loved that they worked in tandem, and Aphrodite had a conniving, almost menacing feel in this, which matched Ares' ferocity. "All's fair in love and war" was perfectly encapsulated here. Aphrodite has epithets related to war (Areia = Warlike), and this showed it well. I think this was one of the better versions of Ares cracking through Athena's quick-thought ability too. Ares looked so demonic at first (which I loved) and then his helmet came off and he's this pretty boy underneath (also accurate to myths!) so I was all gooey over it. Ares also having good humor about being beaten fair and square was so perfect. -Hera was amazing! Being the queen of the gods, she MUST be strong in her own right and you showed that by literally having her create copies of women to fight, and it matches her usual mythical depictions of never getting her hands dirty but having the means to accomplish her goals. That was ingenious! And her fighters had the bell bottoms pants, way to incorporate the disco feel but in a subtle way! The hands looking like peacock feathers to transform into women shows the vanity and pride both she and Zeus share, it's why they work as a couple, for better or worse. -The fight scenes were EPIC. I think this animatic showed the grandeur better than most animatics of what it means to have gods be these divine entities that look human but are undeniably otherworldly. All of the fight scenes were well done and original, I think you succeeded! What was enjoyable with yours was that you had the other gods look more distraught here than some other artists. Hera and Ares in particular got me, since Hera is not known for liking any of Zeus' children (even her own) so her being distressed was a nice touch, as well as Ares being the opposite side of Athena's war themes; they're still siblings and drawn to integrity. This goes to... -Athena herself: Athena also clearly enjoying fighting really made me be like, “yep, runs in the family.” I appreciated Athena looking more muscular here than other iterations. I like tall and lanky Athena but her being this muscular woman is just as possible so I enjoyed seeing that. And her HAIR being the same texture as Zeus was such a nice detail connecting them together. Their energy was similar, them both having connections to birds, to justice, to finding a way to achieve what they desire, and then the both of them having a soft side _but with each other_ absolutely broke me. I know people always talk about the gods in the myths as terrible people, sure, but I've read enough of the Greek myths too to know that the Greeks _would_ write them to be nuanced. Athena _is_ Zeus' favorite child, by far. While he was going to make her literally fight for Odysseus' freedom, Zeus revealing a tender side to Athena and Athena alone after coming across as a rampaging womanizer was phenomenal. -Lastly, the soft part that comes in after Athena is struck, normally I think folks put flashbacks there, which you did too. But rather than fully focusing on Odysseus, you showed that this internal affair is causing a rupture in the family unit on Olympus. You really portrayed that going against Zeus is not normally done for a reason, and it was really interesting to see that. Athena has family too and she also has to come to terms with disagreements with them. This is a long comment, but honestly I don't usually leave them on artistic pieces, or really in general. That's how much this impressed me. Just excellent work, it deserves to be praised! All that work was worth it and I hope you get more attention, on both fanmade works and originals. 🥰❤
I HAD TO PAUSE SO MANY TIMES TO ANALYZE THIS HOLY MOTHER OF ZEUS First of all, Olympus being just about Zeus with all the statues is so freaking real, then Zeus just looks like he's talking to his kid while he's trying to take a nap on the couch, I LOVE THE DESIGNS FOR THE GODS HERE!!! Apollo is Apollo, it's very obvious. Hephaestus though looks like he's broken, like he's actually broken, like a vase or ceramic, which is not something I'm seen yet, and it's great! Aphrodite looks so simple, yet it's obviously Aphrodite, it was great. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE ARES DESIGN BY FAR BAR NONE HOLY SHIT! There's so much detail! The helmet hiding his face like that, the pelts and war-clothing he has on, THE SWORD OF LOVE!? And then Hera, she's very simple, but she has that regal royalty to her, you can tell she's a queen, and, I don't know if this is just me, but she kinda looks like if Athena was more royal looking. Apollo - I've never seen anyone actually make it a fight yet, and it's so good! The way he uses music to fight alongside with archery, I love it! And his defeat isn't like "Ok sure you win" it's more like "Ok ok fine you win!" Due to Athena overpowering him quite easily. Hephaestus - Never have I thought Hephaestus in a mech would happen, BUT GODSDAMN MAN! I never thought about it, but his whole forge being inside his mech is so awesome! Like, gods are going to make up for their disabilities in ways mortals absolutely cannot, that just makes sense! And I love that he gives Athena Aegis, it was so good. Aphrodite - Her segment makes me so uncomfy, which I feel like is on purpose, the mirror separating her into two versions of herself, love and lust, and then the hands... uggghhh!!! I hate it! It's so good! And then usually people think Athena is bringing Aphrodite into Quick Thought, but she's just using Quick Thought on Aphrodite, but the rules are different so gods just makes so much sense and it's so cool! Ares - Best Ares design, we're pretty late into the animatics for the Wisdom Saga, so I can pretty comfortably say this is the best Ares design yet. The way he fights alongside Aphrodite, and how they actually seem to love each other, is so good! And he's fighting with the power of love! Literally! It's so good! AAAAHHHH!!! And then Athena just going beast mode on them both and immediately winning just shows she's the next in line for the throne, Ares and Aphrodite in the crater are just so cute, they look actually in love and I love it. Aphrodite goes "Ok, fine release him", but Ares goes "*Sigh* Release him." And the difference is just in the way their looking! Good gods you are so good with body language! Hera - Her's feels so simple, yet so good, the way her hands turn to backup dancers, looking like a peacock tail, is so good, and then she just lets the clones handle the rest, like a queen usually would, and her release him is usually like "Uh-... Release him." But yours is "Yeah that makes sense, release him." Zeus - The shot with Athena and everyone else, the others except Hera all look scared, they're scared of Zeus, while Hera just looks like she knows what's gonna happen and is sad. Then Zeus' rage, he breaks down Olympus, separating everyone, and Aphrodite and Ares are holding each other and making sure they're ok I LOVE IT! And then THE TRANSITION INTO BEAST MODE ZEUS IS SO GOOD!!! THE WAY HE RELENTLESSLY LAUNCHES A MASTER BOLT AT ATHENA!!! And then Ares going "Is she dead?" feels a lot more like he's actually worried about his sister, like the first time you see your big sibling get hurt and it's just so jarring, like, "Oh shit you can get hurt!?" And then the flashbacks, to young Ody, to My Goodbye Ody, to Love in Paradise Ody, then to Telemachus, so good. And you're the first one I've seen give Athena both an actual scar, and A BEAST MODE!? And her beast mode could overpower and dethrone Zeus here and now, but she just gives him a hug, like a daughter would to her father, and it's a final plead. So good. Final thoughts - Ok, so, yeah you're easily given an S+++ here, this one is so creative, so awesome with the action, the body language, your interpretations just make every little bit of sense, it's absolutely perfect. If you weren't invited to do something for the Vengeance Saga premiere, I think it'd be a felony to not have you do something for the Ithaca Saga premiere. Only three animatics and you're already in with the greats of the Epic Animatic Community. Thank you so much, take breaks, drink water, get sleep, and keep up the good work!
I was wondering what was taking ya so long considering how quick you pumped out thunder bringer but i can see why now. And honestly the wait was worth it. The gods look great from hephestus's cracked pottery design, aphrodites sensualness and finally i love ares design and how beastly he looks, that design fits him as muchypur enterpritation of zeus fits him. Both athena and ares are gods of war but you can see how athena is a strategicist, where ares is unchained god of war the brutality and strength, the savagery, just survival of the strong. Literally peak design for the god of war.
The fact that they actually fight in this is pretty amazing great job the fight scenes and the choreography are incredible. I enjoyed greatly such a different concept than the other games where she just talks to them except for Aries where she has to fight Aries.
I didn't shed a tear during the final fighting scene what do you mean-- No but in all seriousness. This is so beautiful. The other gods giving Athena a challange but at the end standing by her side because in the end they are all family and care for each other. I love how Apollo had this younger brother energy and just wanted to have a lil fight with her for fun and letting her go after. Heph giving her the iconic shield after the fight. Ares and Aphrodite working together is so beautiful and I love how you portraited her as an active opponent. Also Ares taking the helping hand of his sister oh my god. Hera, even though she's not her mother, seems to consider her as part of the family as well, giving her a bit of a double-challange with the fighting and giving the answers at the same time just to test her. The end made me feel so many emotions, truly a masterpiece both in animation, the artstyle and the depiction of the characters both in their personality and in design. Thank you for doing gods work.

I love how almost all of them are just literally playfighting. Especially love how Apollo and Athena are literally not even trying to hurt each other, just doing the most "rule of cool".
Was really awesome seeing that they actually care about each other, and it seems like even Ares and Athena aren't bitter enemies here, just rivals.
Also they all (except Aphrodite) look related? Like omg, you can see the similarities to both siblings and parents/children here.

Yes! They interact as "people" who've known each other for a very long time and that will be together at the end. They disagree and fight and eventually punch, but they really care for the other. I love specially when Athena offer a hand to Ares.

I absolutely LOVE the way you incorporated Aphrodite into this! Not only is she the goddess you'd least expect to surprise Athena, but she pools her powers with Ares and lets him fight with and for her, explaining why Athena addresses both of them at the end of their segment.
And the gods' sportsmanship after each fight really sells that they're immortal siblings who can unleash all-out attacks on each other, then brush it off and laugh about it. They were all genuinely rooting for her (which also explains why some of them got convinced so easily). It's such a lovely little subversion of the gods' usual egoes, and it contrasts perfectly with Zeus' pride at the end. He's so insecure he takes this rare instance of Olympian solidarity as a threat to him and how he rules.
It makes you realize that the only one who benefits from the gods' feuds is their king. After all, the king of the titans (Kronos) was usurped by Zeus for being a tyrant. Perhaps Zeus saw the Olympians marching toward him, united, and for a moment, wondered it was his turn on the end of the scythe.
I wonder if the way Aphrodite fights on Ares’ shoulder is a reference to Elden ring !

That small detail during the fight where her left eye turns yellow and the other remains blue. I really interpret this heterochromia as signifying how she's Zeus' daughter, so she has access to his power, manifested in a different manner given her own abilities. But it's still just as potent and capable of standing up to his own when she wields them, hence the blue as well. Such a tiny detail, and especially how Zeus has his eye scarred where she struck his thunder face! Awesome animatic!

I always liked the interpretation that Ares and her have a special relationship as war gods. When Zeus asks if everyone is up for a game, most of the Gods just agree with little fanfare, but Ares sounds straight up excited and eager. He wants a chance to go head to head with his big sister (chronologically speaking, Athena is Zeus' first child, while Ares is one of the last) to show her what he can do. There is little actual malice there, Athena is just seen as the favorite, while Ares is actually considered kind of a screw up. But she can see he tries, and she respects that.
The way that Athena, after all the fighting, just hugs Zeus is getting to me so bad. And the way he falters, not expecting anything but to be fought with, and relents and can be seen carrying her in the credits…aughh
imo it gets even worse when you notice the statue at 0:10 is zeus holding baby athena. But while in that statue he holds her along her helmet like proud of what she can become, now he is holding her weak and clearly sad about the state of his dear daughter
I love how this took the agreed upon "She kicked Ares' ass to convince him" idea and expanded it to the WHOLE ASS PANTHEON

So many awesome details:
Apollo is basically just chilling out and clearly isn’t super invested in the drama, so he and Athena (arguably the two most revered deities of Ancient Greece) just have a friendly spar.
Hephaestus piloted a goddamn Mech Suit. Nothing else needs to be said.
Aphrodite isn’t just a passive force in this animatic like others, but is just as lethal as any other God. She isn’t just a symbol of romance, she is a Goddess of Chaos, of Emotion, of Impulse. Had Athena not used her Domain Expansion, she would’ve been cooked.
Ares actually manages to distinguish himself uniquely from Athena as God of War. While Athena is a symbol of the perfect warrior, of elegance and bravery, Ares is the true nature of war: an encompassing presence of terror and death. The way his face acts as negative space within his helmet is masterfully done.
Hera unleashing a torrent of arms in the visage of a Peacock, to strike down from all directions, really does demonstrate his power as Queen of the Gods.
All of the Gods emerging behind Athena, not being passive observers like in other adaptations but in clear support of the winner of Zeus’s game is a nice touch.
Zeus, of course, is the absolute personification of pride and power. This is a man who can do whatever he wants whenever he wants with zero repercussions. I always thought it was weird how Zeus got so angry from Athena beating his entirely reasonable challenge (why give her a clearly achievable aim if you weren’t going to tolerate her winning) but here it’s demonstrated clearly: All the gods are supporting Athena against HIM, the KING OF THE GODS. How dare they act like he is compelled to do something, to feel responsibility, to win his game!
Athena is by far my favorite part of the animatic. She is the heir to Olympus, the most powerful of Zeus’s children, the Goddess of Wisdom and War, and it thus makes sense only she could actually land a blow upon Zeus. And with a smile on her face no less! Yet her strike was tempered into a compassionate embrace, a kindness that Odysseus and Telemachus helped her discover. And it managed to break the resolve of the God King himself.
10/10 Animatic, love it, incredible.

@@trla6505Exactly, in the original myth, this was all just a discussion, with Athena begging her father to go behind Poseidon, his brother’s, back and release Odysseus from Calypso’s island.
Zeus, being moved by his daughter, and the tale of Odysseus’ families plight, finally agrees, not for the sake of Odysseus, but for his daughter, and Odysseus’ family, who desperately needed him.
This is at its core not a battle, but a court hearing, with a very controversial topic being hotly debated by everyone involved.
It’s a daughter asking her father to ignore his misgivings about the defendant, and trust her.
Such a smart moment to add. It worked so well.

HOLY THIS DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! 2:01 I LOVEEE the detail of Hephaestus giving Athena a pop-up shield with a Medusa carving, it’s a lovely detail and kind of a great moment between them since we can see Hephaestus kind of smirk when he sees Athena checking it out.
That’s shields called Aegis! It’s Athena’s mythological shield made from a bronze casting of medusas head and could protect against basically anything!

Plus, the giant hephaestus mech robot with the forge drawn at its back behind him is amazing, because the fire and the circle of the forge’s opening feels like a halo for him. not a halo he was born with, but a halo he built through hard work by himself. it’s just amazing. I love every second of it.

I honestly can't even decide my favorite part! Having actual fight sequences was fantastic all around, but the way you tailored each of them was perfection.
Apollo having his Lyre double as a bow was absolutely brilliant and the fact that he mostly just seemed to care about his music and doing trickshot archery was accurate AF.
Hephaestus having a freaking mech suit is beyond epic and stopping Athena to give her the shield (that has Medusa's face on it) after she wins is such a great detail!
Aphrodite actually being depicted as a fighter is up there for my favorite moments. She's a Spartan War Goddess- of course she can fight! Ares doesn't love her only for her looks.
Speaking of Ares, his helmet being a freaking SKULL was truly incredible, and the way he and Aphrodite effortlessly teamed up to fight Athena was possibly my favorite of all of these favorites. The details of how she curls around him while also giving him a weapon in her signature pink- and how he rocks that pink WITH PRIDE brings me such an indescribable sense of joy! And the smile Ares had when Athena helped him up was such a sibling thing to do!
Hera giving the appearance of a peacock before it splits into a series of fighters is top freaking tier. But I think my favorite the fact that, when she's introduced, Zeus swipes her away after surrounding himself with his "court of clouds." This gives that much more meaning to her saying "Release him" the second fidelity (of which she is Goddess of) is mentioned because he disregards her openly in a variety of ways and wants to reward those who are like, "Yeah, I have a type... IT'S MY WIFE! NOW BEGONE THOT!"
The way they all feel like a real family. And how even though they fight, they still stand together when it's all said and done. It probably gave Zeus flashbacks to when Apollo, Poseidon, Hera, and Athena tried to overthrow him (which is how the walls of Troy were built to begin with) which is why it's easy to understand why he'd snap like that. The way Athena's left eye changed to show she'd been struck was fantastic, and ending their fight with her hugging Zeus was so dang beautiful! AND NOT BABY ODYSSEUS WITH PUPPY ARGOS 😭😭😭 AND THEN TELEMACHUS BEING A PERFECT CINNAMON ROLL 💀

EVERYTHING IS SO CAREFULLY WELL DONE! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HEPHESTUS DESIGN I think a key detail people keep forgetting when drawing hephestus is the fact that he's deformed, and the fact that he's missing parts of his head is such a good touch. I also love the fact that in this rendition we get to see Ares' face, and the clouds surround Zeus, Aphrodites's powers, Hera's reaction regarding this whole ordeal. It's all just so perfect!
Okay, on second viewing…my actual favorite part is that Athena, right up till the end, when she’s starting to pass out? She can’t restrain a smile. She’s *enjoying* this! And it makes perfect sense! She’s a war god to her bones, and an intellectual besides, and, according to the Orestia, the first ever legal judge on top of that; of course she relishes being in a series of challenging fights while also having a debate, regardless of the stakes. She’s never been more in her element.

The only statue given airtime at the start is Zeus holding Baby Athena, all the other statues are of Zeus showing off.
Hephaestus' cracked head from when Hera threw him off Mount Olympus as a baby, and in some legends he was the one who made Athena's Aegis.
Aphrodite's Mirror has a second mirror at the top, and the weapon she uses is a dagger which was considered an intimate weapon used in crimes of passion by the Greeks
Ares' armor is made of torn animal parts as the god of violence and he uses an "unsportsmanlike" headbutt in the fight. Also Aphrodite fixing his "sword"? Nice innuendo.
Hera's arms resemble her sacred animal, the peacock.
The planet in the background of the final fight could be Jupiter, which is Zeus' roman name.

Literally every one of your animatics for this has truly and utterly blown me away with such amazing designs and attention to detail. Incredible work.
Okay but seriously this might be the coolest most polished thing I’ve ever seen!! I could write a whole deep dive over six pages about this but I’ll just share a few of my thoughts.
First I love the designs you made for all of the gods: Athena and Zeus having the same hair texture to show their relation as father and daughter is genius, love that. I like how you had Apollos halo look both like the sun and cow horns.
I love how you straight up had Aphrodite naked but incorporated physical design elements to actually cover her, makes her feel less like just a pretty lady and more like a goddess. The design of Hephaestus having a broken head like a cracked pot is incredible and now I keep imagining his head containing molten lava used in forging (following along the line of his myth do you think he once had molten lava so hot and mystical in his head before his head then was cracked open?)
Second the way you designed each fight section was brilliant! The fight choreography is beautiful and fast paced and if I even try to describe each bit we would be here waayyy too long; just know you ate.
The powers you gave the gods really interested me; the bow fight with Apollo was attention grabbing and Hephaestus fighting with a mech was so obviously right yet not in my brain at all!
I love how you had Aphrodite and Ares fight mostly as one being since their sections are so intertwined. I could wax poetic about the symbolic meaning of Ares, symbol for war, carrying a broken sword that only truly becomes dangerous when matched with Aphrodite, symbol for passion/love, for the rest of eternity. Truly brilliant.
Having Hera get this hoard of back up dancers introduced as a fan of hands is way too cool. I love how it shows both a popular dance move that kinda fits with her style of music but also evoking peacock imagery. Truly a big brain moment!
The Third (and final) point which is just an assortment of things.
The end fight scene must have taken so much time you are absolutely insane for animating all of that. That’s professional levels of work, I hope your hand is okay.
The character interaction you put in here make the gods seem so human and is an element I haven’t seen in other god games animatics. It definitely adds to rewatch value!
I really like how you draw mouths and will be incorporating that into my own art so thank you for that!
I don’t know what the first scene with Athena is doing in the background but I will be rewatching in order to properly appreciate it! (Is it a bunch of statues of Zeus? Very in character if so)

My favorite part was the Hera’s peacock of warrior minions. Of course the queen of the gods and the goddess of queens wouldn’t do her own fighting if she didn’t feel like it. Also love how Aphrodite and Ares went full Twin Princes of Lothric in their tag team, the final blow being a tackle-hug that snapped Zeus out of his rage and made him actually look at the very permanent-looking scar he left on his daughter, Ares shouting desperate encouragement, Hephaestus casually slipping Athena a collapsible Aegis-really, all of this is so blindingly good it beggars belief.
I think it's more a reference to Miquella and Radhan
i actually love you so much neal. like what the fuck. this is literally insane? from the character design, to the fluid movements, to literally EVERYTHING. i am genuinely so in love. like holy shit, each and every one of their concepts were clearly so well-thought of, executed in the BEST WAY and overall just drop-dead gorgeous. i am so so so in-love with athena, hera, and aphrodite, while being completely mesmerized by apollo and ares. i am so smitten with aphrodite and ares' concept, of being two peas in pod (despite aphrodite's actual husband being right there, i would def choose his brother ngl,...) and aphrodite providing the blade for ares' hilt, was so UGRHSAUDBSN i can't. and hera having her background dancers be the fighters? fucking amazing. apollo's concept with the bow, the sirens, I CANNOOTOTT and hephaestus' concept with him being a giant robot thing pays close attention to the detail of the fact he's literally the god blacksmithing, which would mean that he's probably made so much shit over the years to keep himself safe.. you are amazing never die like actually. AND THE FIGHTING SCENE BETWEEN ATHENA AND ZEUS. OH MY DAYS. i cannot. the idea of athena using her animal form to seem like she's about to punch her father (which she kind of does, regardless,) but actually hugged him, i was screaming and crying and throwing up. in a good way. your art is absolutely sublime, you capture the gods in the most accurately celestial way i've ever seen. AND AND THE FAMILIAL LOVE BETTWEN ARES AND ATHENA ACTUALLY WARMED MY HEART SO MUCH I CANNOT. people always portray them as enemies, but at the end of the day, they are still family. they still love each oher, you cannot convince me they don't. and ares being worried about athena?? and athena hugging her dad despite gaining a HUGE scar from him?? i heart love so so so sosos so so much. along with athena having some aspects of zeus, literally portraying a bit of him during the fight scene between her and her brother+his lover... i am so inlove w this musical and especially this animatic.
The sad part was when Zeus was turning into Beast Mode and Hera couldn’t watch them fight. It’s probably heartbreaking to see your husband and daughter fight each other to the death in front of you. Not only that, I’m pretty sure they all knew Zeus wasn’t going to play fair. But overall, this was definitely worth the wait!

Athena isn't actually Hera's child, Athena was born before they got married and emerged fully formed and in armor, so more like oh no, one of the few gods I genuinely like is fighting Zeus

All of the god designs were gorgeous, of course, and I especially love Apollo's lyre-string cape? Ribbons? Things? the cracks in Hephaestus from being tossed down Olympus? all of the hands around Aphrodite? The fact Ares has 1.5 swords instead of a shield? I didn't even bother to try and count the peacock feathers in Hera's design, I lost track at, like 10. And Zeus with his best smirk at 1:09 is particularly nice.
Apollo releasing his final arrow and Athena slicing it in time with the music at 1:31? Fantastic, made that attack *feel* powerful.

Aphrodite being both hands and eyes, very cool and creepy. The Aphrodite and Ares double team? All's fair in love and war? Beautiful, especially when we get big old Ares fighting with a pink sword.
2:50 Athena used Headbutt! It was not very effective!
And Athena only making progress against Ares when she puts the shield away and throws herself totally into the battle when he insults Telemachus is another very nice touch. That beautiful smile at 2:58 is also great. And we get the sense there is real affection between Ares and Aphrodite, too, with how he shields her from Athena's blast and how Athena helps them both up. Hera's peacock warriors are amazing, of course, and neat that she has blue-green eyes almost like Athena instead of something like purple, another royal, feminine, color.
Seeing Odysseus grow up through Athena's eyes at 4:23, especially him wearing her owl pin, and how similar he and Telemachus look, was heartbreaking.
Aphrodite holding Ares back was another show of affection, and Ares yelling something at 4:40? 'Stop' maybe? (edit: or her name. smh I'm dumb)
And that grin at 4:55 proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that Athena is Zeus' child, holy crap. And the hug!
With the scars Athena put on Zeus being similar to her own (both got left eyes scarred, Zeus' left wrist as well) I wonder if Zeus has one blue eye to match Athena's one yellow eye?
This is fantastic, I love every second of it, and I have to go watch it another ten times. Beautiful work, amazing story-telling, and a wonderfully unique twist on a song we've seen so much of already. Can't wait to see more of what you do!

Out of all the Gods designs, Hephaestus has to be my favorite one. To me it’s the most creative of them all with him looking like a broken clay pot and then having a giant robot be his workshop is so cool! This animatic was definitely worth the wait, can’t wait to see more!

THE REVEAL OF SCARS THAT WERE GLAMOURED AWAY??? THE GLAMOURS DROPPING AS THEY PUT ALL THEIR POWER INTO THE FIGHT. I've seen depictions of Athena's soft pleading to Zeus being her on her knees and him looking at her in disdain/neutral as he's defeated, but the idea that she wins by getting to thru to his heart being represented as her owl form diving into the chest of titan-- and then her hugging him and his enraged expression softens and he lays a hand on her back. Because he is the God-King, but he is also her father, and dearest Athena rarely asks for anything. When your daughter finally asks you for help, can you bear to tell her no?

I LOVE Athena's design. She is so beautiful and reminds me of my aunt, whom I lost.

-Zeus waving his hand toward the sky to begin introducing them was the moment I knew it'd be good. I lamented that wasn't happening in other animatics from what I saw. I saw your Thunder Bringer animatic, and Zeus' design was so cool, that I wondered if you made another and this popped up! My guy sitting on a throne made of cloud-women was chef's kiss, because he would.
-I loved Apollo's design and his cheeky little brother attitude. I loved that his half-halo resembled a sun and you incorporated his lyre and archery into one neat instrument. I don't know if this makes sense, but Apollo looks the _most_ related to Athena and Zeus, it's his jawline and profile. While we don't see Artemis, I have the feeling that if someone looked at Athena, Apollo and Artemis, you'd see Zeus in their faces and I thought that tied their genetics together. Same with Hera and her biological sons, Ares and Hephaestus, they look like parent and child as well.
-Hephaestus having a GIANT mech was so on point, and his design was so cool--like he has a missing piece of his head from the fall as an infant. Hephaestus giving Athena the Medusa shield! Oh that sent me. Like he's still her sibling so he's going to look after her, and Athena holding him in one arm while he pouted was adorable, since they're normally considered no-nonsense deities. More so since he gave her the shield just before she went up against the goddess who broke his heart, very fitting.
-Aphrodite and Ares are my weaknesses--I've had a soft spot for them since my childhood, so I'm _very_ picky about their portrayals; I've seen a few since I found the musical about a month ago. Yours? GORGEOUS. I loved that they worked in tandem, and Aphrodite had a conniving, almost menacing feel in this, which matched Ares' ferocity. "All's fair in love and war" was perfectly encapsulated here. Aphrodite has epithets related to war (Areia = Warlike), and this showed it well. I think this was one of the better versions of Ares cracking through Athena's quick-thought ability too. Ares looked so demonic at first (which I loved) and then his helmet came off and he's this pretty boy underneath (also accurate to myths!) so I was all gooey over it. Ares also having good humor about being beaten fair and square was so perfect.
-Hera was amazing! Being the queen of the gods, she MUST be strong in her own right and you showed that by literally having her create copies of women to fight, and it matches her usual mythical depictions of never getting her hands dirty but having the means to accomplish her goals. That was ingenious! And her fighters had the bell bottoms pants, way to incorporate the disco feel but in a subtle way! The hands looking like peacock feathers to transform into women shows the vanity and pride both she and Zeus share, it's why they work as a couple, for better or worse.
-The fight scenes were EPIC. I think this animatic showed the grandeur better than most animatics of what it means to have gods be these divine entities that look human but are undeniably otherworldly. All of the fight scenes were well done and original, I think you succeeded! What was enjoyable with yours was that you had the other gods look more distraught here than some other artists. Hera and Ares in particular got me, since Hera is not known for liking any of Zeus' children (even her own) so her being distressed was a nice touch, as well as Ares being the opposite side of Athena's war themes; they're still siblings and drawn to integrity. -Athena herself: Athena also clearly enjoying fighting really made me be like, “yep, runs in the family.” I appreciated Athena looking more muscular here than other iterations. I like tall and lanky Athena but her being this muscular woman is just as possible so I enjoyed seeing that. And her HAIR being the same texture as Zeus was such a nice detail connecting them together. Their energy was similar, them both having connections to birds, to justice, to finding a way to achieve what they desire, and then the both of them having a soft side _but with each other_ absolutely broke me. I know people always talk about the gods in the myths as terrible people, sure, but I've read enough of the Greek myths too to know that the Greeks _would_ write them to be nuanced. Athena _is_ Zeus' favorite child, by far. While he was going to make her literally fight for Odysseus' freedom, Zeus revealing a tender side to Athena and Athena alone after coming across as a rampaging womanizer was phenomenal.
-Lastly, the soft part that comes in after Athena is struck, normally I think folks put flashbacks there, which you did too. But rather than fully focusing on Odysseus, you showed that this internal affair is causing a rupture in the family unit on Olympus. You really portrayed that going against Zeus is not normally done for a reason, and it was really interesting to see that. Athena has family too and she also has to come to terms with disagreements with them.
This is a long comment, but honestly I don't usually leave them on artistic pieces, or really in general. That's how much this impressed me. Just excellent work, it deserves to be praised! All that work was worth it and I hope you get more attention, on both fanmade works and originals. 🥰❤

I HAD TO PAUSE SO MANY TIMES TO ANALYZE THIS HOLY MOTHER OF ZEUS
First of all, Olympus being just about Zeus with all the statues is so freaking real, then Zeus just looks like he's talking to his kid while he's trying to take a nap on the couch, I LOVE THE DESIGNS FOR THE GODS HERE!!! Apollo is Apollo, it's very obvious. Hephaestus though looks like he's broken, like he's actually broken, like a vase or ceramic, which is not something I'm seen yet, and it's great! Aphrodite looks so simple, yet it's obviously Aphrodite, it was great. THIS WAS MY FAVORITE ARES DESIGN BY FAR BAR NONE HOLY SHIT! There's so much detail! The helmet hiding his face like that, the pelts and war-clothing he has on, THE SWORD OF LOVE!? And then Hera, she's very simple, but she has that regal royalty to her, you can tell she's a queen, and, I don't know if this is just me, but she kinda looks like if Athena was more royal looking.
Apollo - I've never seen anyone actually make it a fight yet, and it's so good! The way he uses music to fight alongside with archery, I love it! And his defeat isn't like "Ok sure you win" it's more like "Ok ok fine you win!" Due to Athena overpowering him quite easily.
Hephaestus - Never have I thought Hephaestus in a mech would happen, BUT GODSDAMN MAN! I never thought about it, but his whole forge being inside his mech is so awesome! Like, gods are going to make up for their disabilities in ways mortals absolutely cannot, that just makes sense! And I love that he gives Athena Aegis, it was so good.
Aphrodite - Her segment makes me so uncomfy, which I feel like is on purpose, the mirror separating her into two versions of herself, love and lust, and then the hands... uggghhh!!! I hate it! It's so good! And then usually people think Athena is bringing Aphrodite into Quick Thought, but she's just using Quick Thought on Aphrodite, but the rules are different so gods just makes so much sense and it's so cool!
Ares - Best Ares design, we're pretty late into the animatics for the Wisdom Saga, so I can pretty comfortably say this is the best Ares design yet. The way he fights alongside Aphrodite, and how they actually seem to love each other, is so good! And he's fighting with the power of love! Literally! It's so good! AAAAHHHH!!! And then Athena just going beast mode on them both and immediately winning just shows she's the next in line for the throne, Ares and Aphrodite in the crater are just so cute, they look actually in love and I love it. Aphrodite goes "Ok, fine release him", but Ares goes "*Sigh* Release him." And the difference is just in the way their looking! Good gods you are so good with body language!
Hera - Her's feels so simple, yet so good, the way her hands turn to backup dancers, looking like a peacock tail, is so good, and then she just lets the clones handle the rest, like a queen usually would, and her release him is usually like "Uh-... Release him." But yours is "Yeah that makes sense, release him."
Zeus - The shot with Athena and everyone else, the others except Hera all look scared, they're scared of Zeus, while Hera just looks like she knows what's gonna happen and is sad. Then Zeus' rage, he breaks down Olympus, separating everyone, and Aphrodite and Ares are holding each other and making sure they're ok I LOVE IT! And then THE TRANSITION INTO BEAST MODE ZEUS IS SO GOOD!!! THE WAY HE RELENTLESSLY LAUNCHES A MASTER BOLT AT ATHENA!!! And then Ares going "Is she dead?" feels a lot more like he's actually worried about his sister, like the first time you see your big sibling get hurt and it's just so jarring, like, "Oh shit you can get hurt!?" And then the flashbacks, to young Ody, to My Goodbye Ody, to Love in Paradise Ody, then to Telemachus, so good. And you're the first one I've seen give Athena both an actual scar, and A BEAST MODE!? And her beast mode could overpower and dethrone Zeus here and now, but she just gives him a hug, like a daughter would to her father, and it's a final plead. So good.
Final thoughts - Ok, so, yeah you're easily given an S+++ here, this one is so creative, so awesome with the action, the body language, your interpretations just make every little bit of sense, it's absolutely perfect. If you weren't invited to do something for the Vengeance Saga premiere, I think it'd be a felony to not have you do something for the Ithaca Saga premiere. Only three animatics and you're already in with the greats of the Epic Animatic Community. Thank you so much, take breaks, drink water, get sleep, and keep up the good work!
I was wondering what was taking ya so long considering how quick you pumped out thunder bringer but i can see why now. And honestly the wait was worth it. The gods look great from hephestus's cracked pottery design, aphrodites sensualness and finally i love ares design and how beastly he looks, that design fits him as muchypur enterpritation of zeus fits him.
Both athena and ares are gods of war but you can see how athena is a strategicist, where ares is unchained god of war the brutality and strength, the savagery, just survival of the strong. Literally peak design for the god of war.
The end????? Where she goes in and she hugs him instead?!?!? My heart 😭❤

The fact that they actually fight in this is pretty amazing great job the fight scenes and the choreography are incredible. I enjoyed greatly such a different concept than the other games where she just talks to them except for Aries where she has to fight Aries.

No but in all seriousness. This is so beautiful. The other gods giving Athena a challange but at the end standing by her side because in the end they are all family and care for each other. I love how Apollo had this younger brother energy and just wanted to have a lil fight with her for fun and letting her go after. Heph giving her the iconic shield after the fight. Ares and Aphrodite working together is so beautiful and I love how you portraited her as an active opponent. Also Ares taking the helping hand of his sister oh my god. Hera, even though she's not her mother, seems to consider her as part of the family as well, giving her a bit of a double-challange with the fighting and giving the answers at the same time just to test her.
The end made me feel so many emotions, truly a masterpiece both in animation, the artstyle and the depiction of the characters both in their personality and in design.
