Hi Gary, Thanks for sharing the video. Having a hard downshift from 2nd to 1st gear as I am coming to a stop with my 2001 BMW 740i Sport w/109k miles after driving for about 30 mins. Never changed the transmission oil (on my to do list for spring). Started having this issue recently. Any suggestions on what it can be? Would resetting transmission adaptations help this issues in any way?
Great video Garry. I have a 170k km 4.4 bmw x5 with this transmission. The transmission is perfect when cold but as it gets up to temperature i experience some slight slipping in 3rd 4th 5th gears when using light throttle going up hill. The revs will suddenly increase (only say 500rpm) and feels like the torque converter is engaging disengaging. The transmission is better in sports mode as you’re higher up in the rev range. Gear changes feel very good. No difference after a couple of oil changes and new filter. Any thoughts?

Gary i have a year 1999 bmw 535 (zf 5hp 24) that drives impeccably apart from a harsh reverse engagement, i always wait until the engine rpm drop before engaging, reverse gear it does not slip once engaged and has 100k miles on it, do you think its more likely to be the pressure regulator bore or the f clutch drum at fault, many thanks in advance if you find time to reply

you could try adaptations, may or may not help, could be a valvebody issue, could be a problem with to much clearance in the clutch pack

Is this producing any trouble codes, was the car scanned?
