Anyone else noticed one on the output coming from the headphone jack instead of the L-R outputs? :) Oh, anyone debating getting this board should definitely feel comfortable getting it. Good bang for the bucks! The FM Piano sounds are my favorites.
Noise with superknob is presence of distorted signal through signal chain. But this piece of hardware is a must have for recording a sound scores for blockbuster movies etc with internal DAW on our PC!
I had no luck with this Yamaha Modx 8. This instrument started to click on the keys 3 weeks after the purchase. After longer programming, the display has stopped freezing. I had to send it back. Poor plastic box. Clever Montage copy.I'm sorry because the inner part and the sound generator are excellent. I'm going to Nord.
What a lovely piece it seems to be. I wonder, can one switch to next sound without interrupting the current notes ringing out? The ability to play several instruments at a time is there via sequencer, right?
Hey Tracy, everything was plugged in correctly but that particular camera angle combined with the angle of the back panel makes it look like all the connectors are offset by one. When you see it in person the labels align with the jacks. Thanks for watching! -Dave
Motif ES was released in 2003 having 1GB of user memory . MODX is released in 2018 having only 1GB of user memory over ES )))))). Strange right ? . With a 100$ cheap personal computer you can have 16 GB of memory if you want . But with this 2000$ synth you can't put more user memory space even if you want that .
Hi, My name Anatoly. I have a problem with which I have not been able to figure it out for a long time. I watched dozens of video clips, but I can not find the answer to the problem. My synthesizer MODX6 stopped memorizing the sounds that I save or which I remember from USB or Live set or Favorite. While the synthesizer is turned on, everything is normal, turned off and all the sounds that I recorded in the memory disappear. I don’t know what I pressed wrong, HELP PLEASE...
Which was has better sound!?Are you kidding? Are you serious? Are you congenitally insane??Did you watch the damn video?Isn't obvious to your ears, which keyboard has the better sound?
@@luikangondabeat I agree. I also have the moxf8 and its keybed is way better. modx8 keybed feels cheapppp. I would never buy modx8. Rather get the montage
Oluwajoba Odesanya Trust get a Montage or keep the MOXF and get yourself a 15 inch MacBook Pro and get yourself Keyscape now that my friend I don’t think you would buy another piano again
It has sequencing, but not like other sequencers. It's like you have eight scenes, which can be named things like Intro, Verse, Chorus, Instrumental, etc., and those eight scenes can have up to 16 parts, although you will run out of tracks very quickly if you use patches that contain multiple "elements." That is my understanding. Really unsure if it is multitimbral for sequencing by an external sequencer. I went ahead and purchased it anyway. I'll figure it out and I'm sure I'll get used to it (eventually). I like many of the sounds. I'm sure it's a lot easier to sequence on than the Tyros or the Genos.
Thank ypu for this demonstation. If you dont have your hands on the bord and its still playing, what did you select for an knop? I hope to get the MODX8 in 2 weeks. Thanks and all the best.
Sounds of this YAMAHA are beautiful !It must be very expensive !Il would like to know the price... it could be a very good present!AmicalementFrançois-o.
Only 1 GIGABYTE of user space is a shame . This should have at least 8 gigabytes possibility of expansion . I mean is this really that hard to put 2 ram slots in there ??. And I will gladly buy 2 ram sticks .Such a shame ....
I was quite disappointed to play the MODX8. The key bed DID NOT feel or respond like a Yamaha key bed especially being a descendant of the motif/montage series. It felt cheap and stiff. Was not expecting this from a $1900 keyboard.
A few people are saying it feels cheep but you really have to test it out for yourself. The keybed feels great to me. The keys are on the loud side but so was every other synth ive owned in the price range. I aslo have an moxf8 and the keybed is virtually the same as modx8. Going back and forth over and over trying to find a difference...if anything the mofx8 keys are slightly more sluggish. They seem to have an ever so slight delay when returning to their original position after a key press. Its not noticeable when playing, but only when comparing. I really fail to see how anyone can call the keybed cheep. The keybed on the korg krome...now thats cheep.
I'm a Korg guy,but I got one of these, truly amazing
Out of the Box it sounds better to me than my Nord Stage 3 🙋🏻♂️
🥰How Good It Is To Have A Keyboardist Family🥰
i looooooove no talking 😂😂 we are all here because of how it sounds do we ? 😂😂❤❤❤❤❤
Daaaaang! A) I want to get my mits on that FM-X engine ASAP, B) Hats off to Blake 👍 for a tasteful set. Really enjoyed it!
Absolutely enrages me that while I own a MODX 8 I can’t own a MODX T-Shirt like yours
Blake your are one of the best I've heard, your playing is so inspiring, keep up the excellent work you do, I truly like, peace my brother. ..

This synth sounds top notch. I am between this and Fantom 08. Any thoughts?

What an awesome machine!!
Das ist ja fantastisch ! Das kaufe ich. yamaha modx8
Yamaha has to fix the zero crossing issue when turning the super dial thingy
yamaha back on track! price and sound wise !!!! goood
SHES GOING TO BE MINE VERY SOON!!! SHE SOUND SO GOOD. WOW!!!
KingdomMinded 87 just got mine today love it I also have the moxf6 and roland fa06 there going to go together good.

13:40 sounds just like "Radioactive" patch on EX5R...nice

Yamaha The Best...👍😎
The Shadow Wiz roland and korg are also good they each have their own texture that's why I own a variety of all three love thim
Is it better than krome ? Krome has distinct musical sounds good to ears. Modx is sounding like movie background music maker here.
depends on who you ask
Not Bad.
Well played :)
What about its power yamaha modx6 on stage regarding oriantal music of fhe middle east
Pianos and electric piano and fm pianos sounds full rang or not
great demo but one thing - i hear the noise in my beyerdynamic DT 1350, in prev. video it wasnt. Is it a microphone amplifier that recorded a sound?
Hi Blake! Always enjoy ur videos! One question though, Why do you have one output coming out of the mono and the other out of the phones jack?
The label doesn't seem to match the connectors so he has everything correctly connected.
That is a very good question...I noticed the same at 1:23

Well, combining my MOXF8, TG77 and EX5R i think i can cover pretty much everything on the MODX :-))
EX5 is completely different...
Those strings sounds are crying out loud for aftertouch - why is that considered a luxury nowadays?
Can I build tracks on my MPC renaissance with this by using multiple parts on the MODX?
Does anyone else hear a popping sound when he turns the super knob in the beginning?
yes :O
Yes there is
Great

slide knobs and screen is a good thing for this than MOXF. but which one has a better sound and better keys for live performance?
Which was has better sound!?Are you kidding? Are you serious? Are you congenitally insane??Did you watch the damn video?Isn't obvious to your ears, which keyboard has the better sound?

Ok there are super sounds ! Ok this guy play verry well but where is the sequencer and his use ? It’s a workstation !?
Sequencer was added very recently, and this video is old if you haven't noticed.

Initial touch...? Too bad the keyboard is not aftertouch ...

François 1400 € pour le 88 touches environ je ne trouve pas que c’est cher cordialement
What was that at 2:06?
Digital clicks. I hear them when using the super knob. Sounds fucked up.
Does it have preset styles or rhythm loops
It`s a nice keyboard if you like POP (ing) music.
does it require external speakers or it has its own built in?
There is noises when he increases or decrease the superknob... they should fix that.
Only 1 GIGABYTE of user space is a shame . This should have at least 8 gigabytes possibility of expansion . I mean is this really that hard to put 2 ram slots in there ??. And I will gladly buy 2 ram sticks .Such a shame ....
Stop complaining and play already.
Modx sounds as a name better than Montage, cool instrument.
How is the Keybed compared to the Yamaha moxf8
i have same question too
i wish somebody could tell the quality of the keybed
I was quite disappointed to play the MODX8. The key bed DID NOT feel or respond like a Yamaha key bed especially being a descendant of the motif/montage series. It felt cheap and stiff. Was not expecting this from a $1900 keyboard.
Trust me, the keybed feels cheap. This makes the board a NO NO for me. I'd rather get the Montage. I own MOXF8
A few people are saying it feels cheep but you really have to test it out for yourself. The keybed feels great to me. Keybed feels like Crap!! When I say Crap I mean Crap!!!
hundreds of ugly digital clics when moving the knob in the first example ... lol ! ...
i'm pretty certain what you describe as "digital clicks" is just filter resonance - i can make the similar types of sounds on my analog synth
That's not filter resonance making the clicks. Sounds more like a recording issue than a sound produced by the modx.
hahaaha i think its suppose to sound that way. i think it sounds great.....
